We knew it would be an apartment-style, but didn't realize that the other rooms would be totally full and that the others had multiple beds. In all about 8 of us had to share 1 bathroom, which meant long lines in the morning/evening. The host was very nice and gave a great intro to Rome. Wifi access barely worked.

The owner was very nice and provided us the basics, secure place for our belongings, decent bed, linens and towels. The shared bathroom could use a little work as far as cleanliness, but for a short stay it did the trick. I would stay here again for a short trip to Rome. It is less then 10 mins walk from the main train station and the Colosseum, and just a few mins to the metro to get you anywhere in Rome. It's the right place for the right price.

RomeBed is not a hotel. It's a flat in which i think the host lives. I saw him only when I came there for the first time. The room was a liitle bit dirty, defenitelly looking worst than on the pictures and there was nothing than bed and table, and the bathroom was really dirty. Althoug the location was quite good. maybe not the best area in Rome but it was about 15-20 min. walk to Coloseum.
First of all it is not a hotel. It is shared flat rooms. There is no hotel facility. (reception, room service, amenities etc.)
There some apartment rooms and you can see the name only inside the entrance (on the ring). You can get only door and flat keys and one towel.
Room is old fashioned and bed is uncomfortable.Shared bathroom is also uncomfortable.
One bathtub which is not very clean with useless shower curtain.
There is no place for put your toothbrush, soap near the washbasin.
When I compared with the rental flat rates it is expensive.
RomeBed was booked on a punt, mostly because it was inexpensive. The location turned out to be a real delight, you're fifteen minutes from the Forum, there are two good restaurants nearby and the metro and buses are only five minutes away. There is a supermarket a couple of doors down for cheap booze and the deodorant you forgot to pack. The room was large, clean and functional. You share a bathroom, but to be honest this was not a problem. Mauro keeps the place clean and the poor man had to wait as our flight was delayed. On arrival I could not have been made more welcome as he provided a map of the city and pointed out all the best places to go for anything from culture to gelato. We were on the third floor and the lift had a lift which made you want to re-enact the lift scene from Diamonds are Forever, unfortunately my wife wasn't up for this and Mauro would probably not have accepted the James Bond moment. Still, if your in Rome to see the city its well worth checking out Romebed as a cheap convenient and friendly place to crash
Close to the Colosseum, Romebed is ideally situated. The bed was comfy and sheets clean. The shared bathroom was okay, but the bath looked a bit grubby. The owner was helpful and gave us a lot of info about places to eat and drink. Lovely restaurant close by called Romantica, worth a visit. We were able to make a hot drink in the morning as there is a kettle available. The street is pretty noisy 24 hours a day, so keep the window shut and the fan on. If you want cheap, safe accommodation then you could do a lot worse.
RomeBed is nice and close to the Metro and Termini station, also walking distance to a lot of the attractions like the Colosseum. Mauro met us at the B+B the night we came into Rome. Even though we were later than predicted he still stayed up to go over the house rules and suggestions for food, attractions, etc. He was really helpful - all the comments people have made about him are true! You get 1 voucher per person for breakfast, which includes 1 coffee and a pastry at a local cafe. The room was very clean, and large. Window overlooking the busy street is nice. Only issue we had was that with 3 rooms there is only one bathroom, so we were left waiting often especially in the AM to use it. But for the price, comparably with other places, RomeBed is a great place to stay at great value.
Our group of seven stayed at RomeBed in two of the three rooms at the start of June, and overall the place was excellent. Mauro arrived just after us and took about half an hour to point out places to eat, drink and to visit on the map which was really helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and there is a safe in each for storing valuables.
The subway is also very close by, as are a number of cafes and supermarkets. The rooms could get quite hot at night, but by either keeping the windows slightly open or using the fan provided this wasn't too much of an issue.
Would definitely recommend staying here to groups on a budget who want to stay near the centre of Rome.
Mauro the manager is an incredibly nice guy. He offered to pick us up from the airport at a novel fee compared to the cost of the train. He was full of tips and suggestions for the city and even made us reservations at a nearby restaurant which proved to be excellent.
The room was spacious and comfortable with good down conformers and clean sheets. There was a nice view from the window. Coliseum is a short walking distance and the area had plenty of cafes and shops. The A subway line is a short walk. Overall a great value for the price.
The only drawbacks were some noise from the nearby streetcar line and no bathroom in the room; however these things didn't keep us from having a great time.
My boyfriend and I had some troubles with the car when arriving from Cinque Terre to Roma, but finally reached the city around 2 am. Mauro was still here, waiting for us ! he is incredibly nice, and took 20min to explain us everything to see and do in Rome in 2 days: places to eat, things to see and when, icecreams to enjoy, cocktails to try!
The hotel is well situated, between 2 subway stations (red line, 15min to go to the Vatican);, and 10min walking from the Colisseum/palatino/forum, etc..
The inside parking (15eur /night) is great if you don't want to leave your expensive car in the street (Italy is known for that...).
We checked out around 10am but Mauro let us leave the car until 4PM to enjoy the city the last day and not pay the parking outside.
The rooms are good, but not luxurious. The bathroom was clean, the apartment was quiet.
Mauro gives you tickets for a coffee and croissant in the coffee bar close by for your breakfast.
I would definitely stay there if I go back to Roma and would recommend it !
This is not for you if you are looking for a classic 'hotel', but if you are happy with a clean, safe and very centrally located place to sleep, then this will be perfect. Mauro is very helpful (though you may want to ask him to slow down when he speeds through his map orientation! :-) and the only problems we had were minor and didn't impact the enjoyment of our trip ie the water pressure was low and they advertise free tea and coffee but we couldn't find any tea/coffee cups, only plastic water cups. But in general we were very happy!
We arrived 2 hours later than planned but Mauro was waiting with a smile. He was very helpful and spent a lot of time explaining everything to us and gave us information and a map of Rome.
The location was great, 2 minutes walk from a metro and 15 minutes walk from Termini train station. The free breakfast at the cafe nearby was a good way to start the day. We never had to wait for the shared bathroom. The room and the bathroom were clean. The fridge and kettle in the hall were very useful. The only issue was our neighbours talking after midnight, the walls must be quite thin, but that was the only thing. There are only three rooms in the B&B so there is never much noise.
We would stay here again as it is great value - 70 euros for a spacious double room.
