I am a return guest to the Estherea. The hotel is quite enjoyable. One can tell that it is a labor of love on the part of the owner and staff. Some visitors from abroad my find the room size cramped but this is, in my opinion, more of an issue with European hotels and less with the Estherea. The Estherea is in a great location, it is beautifully decorated, the service is excellent and the staff is friendly and professional. I recommend it highly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! My only suggestion would be to give more detailed instructions on how to arrive from the airport to the hotel. It is not included in the hotel shuttles and we had a hard time finding out how to take the public transportation. Ended up taking a taxi which cost €40. But it is worth the trouble. Very nice hotel and includes a nice breakfast. We would definitely stay again if visiting Amsterdam.

Only stayed here 1 night - it was convenient and cheaper than the airport hotels for an overnight. Right acrosss the street from the central train station (5 minutes walk), 4.40 Euro and <30 minutes to the airport, lots of restauraunts in the area and plenty of shops - conevnient for luggage as well! Free wifi new TV's. Would stay here again.

This hotel is good value for the money. The room was big, clean and we had a great view of the canal. The hotel is very close to tram stations, restaurants and super markets. We would definitely consider this hotel again.

"Good location, slightly misleading"
I booked the Townhouse hotel and did note that we had to check in at ITC across the canal. The reception was absolutely lovely - a very cheerful blonde Dutch woman who took it upon herself to circle a few sights and restaurants around the area. However when time came to check into our room a few hours later, we weren't led to the Townhouse at all - […] but their third hotel on the Utrechtstraat, 30 seconds away. It's my fault that I didn't print out the full details of the room I had booked, so unfortunately it wasn't until after we left that I realised we had basically been downgraded/misled because the room we were given did not have a lot of the extra comfort facilities listed in the room details: tea/coffee facilities, hair dryer, fax (not that we need it, but still), climate control. Housekeeping had also failed to give us shampoo/soap. We had to go back to the ITC to request the toiletries and hairdryer (with a 10 euro deposit) because the phone in the room has no details on how to contact reception. I certainly would advise everyone to have full details of their room ready and demand a discount/change of room if they do not live up to it. I felt like I had paid over the odds (and I had paid upfront as well). Please also take note that in our room, there was a sign on the door that said guests must settle the bill 24 hours before checking out - not sure if they will tell you this if you choose not to pay upon arrival. With all this said, the hotel was in a trendy location and we enjoyed heading to the nearby De Koffie Salon and Two for Joy cafés for morning coffee, and Prisengracht is one of the prettiest canals to walk down in Amsterdam. The rooms are small and the stairs are steep, but this is to be expected. We didn't have any problem with cleanliness. However due to the misleading room allocation I'm not sure I would stay again. If youre going to stay in Amsterdam then the town house ain't really that bad of a choice. Niestety nie mogę wystawić dobrej oceny ponieważ zamiast pokoju z oknem (wcześniejsza rezerwacja) dostałam komórkę na zapleczu zlikwidowanej recepcji. La situation de l'hotel et ses envirions rattrapent la qualité de la chambre qui ressemblait + a une cellule de prison qu'à une chambre d'hotel. "Tolles Hotel in zentraler Lage!!!"
Wir wurden nicht direkt im Townhouse Hotel untergebracht, sondern in dem Hotel, in dem auch eingecheckt wird. Die Dame an der Rezeption sah, dass wir ein Paar sind und bot uns statt einem kleinen Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten und Gemeinschaftsbad ein Zimmer mit Doppelbett, eigener Dusche und separater eigener Toilette. Wir mussten nichts dazu bezahlen […] und hatten letztendlich ein viel besseres Zimmer! Es war sauber und dem Preis mehr als angemessen. Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal.
