"Interesting location close to port, ocean."
Tonino-I think was his name as he didn't introduce himself- was helpful in pointing out the local sights and in suggesting places to visit and eat. Breakfast was basic with juice, coffee, and a sweet roll and sweet bread. Location is a surprise, down 230 feet on a winding cobblestone road without sidewalks and not the easiest to get to but there is an elevator that works only 8 am to 1 pm. Unit we stayed in was clean. There''s a kitchen but it's not to be used and only beverages are allowed in the refrigerator. The owner also runs the restaurant and I think they want you to eat there instead of fixing your own food. There is some road noise from the stone street. We did not have an ocean view or balcony and didn't know if it was available. If we went again we would ask for a room with a view.

We spent two days at L'Approdo during six weeks on the coast and in Campania. Tonino was gracious and helpful in every way; he let us know about the Osteria Arcadia up the hill where we had a superb meal, equaled or exceeded in exquisiteness only by our wonderful Easter dinner at L'Approdo. Anna's incredible kindness in driving us and our stuff up to the Stazione so we could make an early connection on the about-to-be-busy-travel-day Pasquetta. Breakfast pastries were generous and delicious. We would certainly return; in fact, when a bobble in plans left us homeless for a night, we tried to, but they were full.

Tony, the host, was extremely helpful and welcoming and went out of his way, ordering pizza for us when we arrived late and wet on a rainy night. Also he posted a jacket we left behind. The location is very beautiful and unusual and we had a lovely stay here.

Tony & Anna were amazing hosts, friendly, helpful and smiling. Room was wonderfully clean & comfortable, location was truly spectacular, breakfasts great and just a really great place to spend a few days. Compliments to outstanding chef in attached restaurant, our dinners there were simply delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much Tony & Anna for a memorable stay

Firstly the location is wonderful, you must be active due to the location being at the base of a cliff. There is a bus service and lift to the top but the hours differ for operation in winter and summer so at times you will have a hike up and down. Our unit had see views as requested but not as in the picures. The third floor unit is only a window, the only window in the unit. The stairs to climb are very hard work so if you have any joint or health issues ask for the first floor which also has a small balcony. Though there is a full kichen it is disabled and the fridge has a warning sign that it is banned to put any food products in it. There is no kettle, or any cups or glasses, this forces you to eat at the restaurant, ok if you are not on a budget. Tonino and Anna were great, the village friendly. Maybe negotiate use of the unit kitchen so you can at least have tea or coffee and snacks at your disposal.

The host was more than accommodating. Although it is not in Sorrento, (about 3 miles away), the service we received is superb. This b&b is very relaxing. The breakfast was amazing, we ate at his restaurant also, which became our favorite Italian food. Its a little tricky to get around without a car, but we made it work, and had a fantastic stay. Unless you really want to explore sorrento, you can find everything you need to relax in Piano. There is an elevator that you can take to the top of the cliff (about 1euro) so you don't have to hike up. We will definitely stay here every time we come back

The B & B was the best of our experiences in Italy. Tonino and Anna were helpful and hard working. A delightful couple. I would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to sorrento area. A bit off from the center of town, but once you learn the system it was not an issue. A great experience!!!!!!!!!!

Everything was excellent from the room to the views to the helpfulness of Tonino and Anna who went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The rooms were very spacious, apartment size with a great view overlooking the marina, beautiful sunsets. The food in their reatauraunt was 5 star at very good prices.Special thanks to Tonino and Anna who run a very good family business. Definitely will return and very highly recommended for value and price. Very close to Sorrento and private boat ride to Capri is meters away from your room which is a must do! All in all very memorable and excellent value.

"Authentic Italy family run cozy and clean hotel"
We booked this hotel in an effort to find a quiet establishment close to the beach and to town, something Italian. L'Approdo certainly did the trick for us, nice sized room, comfy bed and good shower. Simple but fabulous breakfast with cold meats, cheese, croissants, fruit juice and much coffee / tea as you can drink. Right on the beach with its own good restaurant but close to a gellateria, tobacco shop (coffee/sandwiches etc), two beaches, a couple more restaurants, limoncello producer and right on the marina. A lift took you up the cliff to town a 10 minute walk away - a half hour walk and you are in the centre of Sorrento. Tonino and Anna looked after us so well and helped to make the stay very enjoyable. It's not the ritz but then it's a good Italian b&b that w would whole heartedly recommend.

A drive down a steep hill almost scared us off but L'Approdo was worth the visit. On the beach, the family run restaurant and accommodation offers value for money in spacious comfortable rooms, friendly helpful service and good food. A lift to the top makes access to Sorrento easy with more good restaurants available.

"Relaxing stay in small hotel with very warm welcome from the owners."
09/21/15 Nic_Davo Glasgow, United Kingdom
We stayed as a couple for 8 nights at L'Approdo and this added to a fantastic holiday in beautiful Italy. One of the best things about this hotel is the owners Toni and Anna, who throughout our stay made us feel very welcome and were helpful with any queries we had. We had a large room with balcony and view over the marina and sea, this was fabulous, especially at sunset each evening. I had specifically requested a sea view and delighted that my request was accommodated. There is a fridge in the room, handy for keeping drinks cool. There is also a kitchen area that is not for use,but that did not bother us. Breakfast was great each morning, certainly set us up for the day. Mainly sweet pastries, bread, along with fresh juice, coffee and water. They also have a restaurant, we ate there one night and had a lovely meal, which was the theme throughout our holiday. The hotel is situated at the bottom of a cliff, there is a lift up/down open from 8:30am-8:30pm daily and costs 50 cents per person, per journey. Otherwise it's a walk up/down the road. The train station is then 10min walk from there, with regular trains to Sorrento or Naples (can get train to Pompeii etc from here). Reasonable price in/out Sorrento. Last train was 21:37 each night from Sorrento, so if you are looking for a night in the buzz of Sorrento then consider this, as it's either a long walk or a taxi ride back (don't know price of taxi). The walking and location of the hotel was not an issue for us,as we enjoy walking, but it is something to consider if mobility is an issue. We wish we had taken our driving license with us, so we could hire a car, which would open up options further. We would do that if we went back, however we did manage to see a lot using train/bus/boat It could be noisy at times with scooters passing by, mainly at weekend nights. However on the whole with windows/doors closed it was fine. We had a really lovely stay here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfy and peaceful base to explore this stunning area away from the main centre of Sorrento, which at times was quite chaotic and took away from the charm of Sorrento. We would definitely stay at L'Approdo again.

"Great Location - Lovely People"
10/14/14 happiness_at_last Halifax
My husband and stayed at l'Approdo September 29 - October 3. Our room was large and spacious and overlooked the marina, Tony and Anna are lovely people and the B&B is clean, very spacious and comfortable. We ate at the restaurant a few times and the food was great. I wonder if they know that their "Tourista" menu is 10 euro more expensive per person than Fracatelli's down the way (l'Approdo was 20 euro and Fracatelli 10 euro). Noise was an issue for us outside the window - started early and scooters/trucks roared underneath our window well past 11:00 p.m. Breakfast consisted of a large pastry and piece of cake. Also had coffee and juice. While the pastries were nice, it would have been preferable to also perhaps have a selection of cold cuts and cheese. Walk to train station a bit of hike, but if you don't mind the walk it was fine (make sure you know exactly where you are going as we got lost - twice) Overall, we enjoyed our stay but would likely try somewhere else if we were to go back to the area.

Picture postcard scenery! Room is big and spacious. Can't use the kitchen or pay. The bed was very, very firm. No electricity in room when you are gone for the day so unable to charge anything. Great friendly owners who can answer your travel questions to Pompeii, Capri or Amalfi coast. BTW if you have to go back to Rome for a flight there is a bus that leaves Sorrento at 6am and gets you in Rome by 9am. For 18,00€. You will need to take a cab or bus from there as you are about 35-45 minutes from airport. It's about a 20-25,00€ trip into Sorrento each way from B&B. If you want the shopping and people stay in Sorrento.

"Fab stay at L'Approdo"
09/01/14 Natalie H Crosskeys, United Kingdom
We stayed for 4 nights in August 2014 and wished we had stayed longer. It is a spotless B&B with fab owners Toni and Anna. The accomodation was spacious, had a fab view of the marina and perfect for our needs. Breakfast was beautiful pastries and great coffee. We ate at their restaurant on two of our nights and it was excellent. We used the B&B as a base for exploring the surrounding area. We visited Pompei, Sorrento and The Amalfi Coast easily accessible using the local train service. Be aware that this accomodation is at the bottom of a cliff but you can reach it by car, on foot and there is a lift ( at a small cost of 0.50 euro per person). Only wished we had spend a little longer there but we will be going back.

Booked by mistake (!) but glad we did. This was a fantastic friendly place to stay with amazing views over the marina to wards Capri. Away from the crowds of Sorrento but easy access by train to Sorrento, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples. Totally agree with Lawrie E and Karin B. Definately go there again if in the area.

"Great Hideaway close to Sorrento"
05/23/14 Karin B Brisbane, Australia
Drove down a super winding and narrow road but what a find! A quaint little fishing village with a wonderful B & B. The owners super friendly, our room was up stairs but not difficult. Large room (apartment style) with a kitchen but definitely not to be used as advised by the brief! There is a restaurant inside the B&B and also outside on a deck which is also run by the Owners, we ate each evening outside which was wonderful overlooking the marina. Food was excellent and well priced. Tony, the owner suggested a boat trip across to Capri which takes you all the way around the island, a fabulous day out...included sandwich and drinks, leave the marina at 10am and return at 6pm.Free car parking is included a little way up the hill from the B&B. Definitely would stay here again.

It looks a bit sinister taking the winding road down to the marina but we loved L'Aproddo B&B and could have stayed for months! The owner couldn't have been more helpful as were also his staff, especially Anna (who also cleans the rooms). Our apartment had a marina view (just) and was very large. Puzzlingly we couldn't use the kitchen even though it was there? Breakfast was excellent and we would have eaten every we stayed except that the restaurant closes on Mondays. We highly recommend the location as it is away from the tourists in Sorrento and yet only a train ride from all the poplar places. We took a boat from outside our apartment direct to Capri and were treated to an excellent tour around the Island and a very fast return trip! We would recommend the B&B to anyone.

This hotel is located in the outskirts of Sorrento, steep down on the small harbour. An elevator takes you up but closed 1 pm. Taxi is expensive up. Better to pay more for a centrally located hotel. Also the breakfast wasn´t very good.

"So much nicer than Sorrento!"
07/24/13 Katiie_will_travel treviso
We arrived on a Monday, which is the only day the restaurant is closed, the owners were so kind as to make us a fantastic lunch before showing us to our rooms! Tonino, the really sweet owner and his wife, could not be more helpful! Our room is massive with views out over the marina we could not have asked for more! If you are thinking of going to Sorrento but do not want to be elbowing your way through the streets with the tourists then this is the place for you! We ate here a couple of times during our stay and the food was amazing! Price wise it is a good deal, you will not be disappointed if you book this hotel! I will come and stay again!
