This is a beautiful and well appointed hotel in a little village in the mountains, very close to Rome.
Our room was quite large for Italy, very clean and the linens were gorgeous! The staff very friendly and extremely attentive. The restaurant at the hotel is five star, also the restaurants on this little street are gourmand and noteworthy. We will definitely return!

Loved it. They treated me like I was a guest in their home, but I also had the comfort and privacy of my own room. The bathroom was gorgeous and shower was luxurious. They went above and beyond to make it special. And the breakfast was a beautiful and tasty feast.

This is a very charming hotel with detail that draws together the ornate beauty of traditional art & antique with the modern requirements of todays traveller.
The room I had was a double room, it was small but had everything I needed, it was very clean, comfortable and warm with the added bonus of Italian stylish beauty in the décor. The bathroom again was beautifully decorated with the vintage design coupled with modern fittings and complimentary supplies of amenities in case you forgot something e.g. a toothbrush.
Breakfast was lovely with local fresh pastries & other delightful offerings.
The people that own & work there are very kind and helpful and you can see that they are striving to build a beautiful, highly reputable and classy boutique hotel with a great deal of attention to detail and that is what you get. I would recommend this hotel.
family atmosphere, cosy lobby, warm welcome. We were there with several other couples attending a conference nearby. Only draw back, very small room even for Europe. All went well until check out, we learned that though we had been told breakfast was included
we were not told if we had room service we would pay FULL price for breakfast. Our appeal for some reduction ($30.00 a day additional) went unheeded in spite of our booking 3 rooms and hosting an expensive meal in the restaurant.
We travelled as a family of 5, and we needed 3 rooms. On check in we were given free parking in the car park opposite for our 2 cars..
The rooms were very comfortable and bathrooms were beautifully decorated.
We ate in the hotel restaurant which is next door, but is accessible through the hotel.
The food was excellent and enjoyed by all of us. The restaurant itself is very rustically decorated.
The breakfast the next morning was served in the foyer. The only way to describe the breakfast
was picturesque It also looked delicious..It was almost a shame to eat it, however we did. A fantastic hotel which we hope to return to.
Came here two years ago for a meal and fell in love not only with the food and the surroundings but with each other and said if we ever got married we would return with friends for our wedding. That is what we did and was not disappointed we had the suite which was just perfect meal was perfect and the staff / family could not do enough for us look forward returning for our anniversary next year x
We stayed here on the final night of our holiday and chose Grottaferrata due to its' proximity to Fiumicino Airport. We were so happy we did because we felt a million miles away in the quaint little town and Locanda dello Spuntino was a charming and peaceful oasis. The hotel has a welcoming and elegant ambience and we felt as though we were staying in a much-loved family home.
On arrival we were given a card to display in our car to allow us to park in the carpark opposite without charge. We walked around the town and even saw a local wedding before talking a drive to nearby Nemi which was preparing for the annual strawberry festival the following day. We sampled the strawberry tarts and they were delicious! Nemi is a very pretty spot and well worth the visit.
The rooms were well-appointed with beautiful linen and toiletries. The bathrooms are nothing short of amazing! The mosaics are spectacular! The whole property is amazingly restored and maintained.
We ate a very enjoyable meal in their restaurant Taverna dello Spuntino that night and ate breakfast in the foyer area the following morning . Highly recommended!
This charming small hotel has been very sensitively converted from an old building (I didn't discover the history), The rooms are generous, with wooden timbered ceilings and wooden floors. Internet is slow, but that is common all over Italy. Breakfast in the lobby consists of a huge variety of cakes and sweet things, mostly home made, and an excellent variety of fruit. Not a bacon-and-eggs sort if place, but fresh squeezed juice is readily provided. The very intrusive background music (I know, my pet peeve) was willingly and instantly turned off - I think it probably drives the staff crazy, too.
Something I have never experienced before is the superb linen, on the beds, and even the napery on the breakfast tables. It's the very best quality, like the fine linen one would expect on an expensive shirt or blouse, with a slight weave.
The only slight drawback to this otherwise super hotel is that there is no outside space (garden, courtyard) but in every other respect, I thoroughly recommend it for the very warm and professional welcome you will receive.
I used to enjoy dinner several times before at the restaurant - Taverna dello Spuntino. This time we decided to spend the night as well. They have gorgeous cosy rooms with a very charming bathroom and bacony. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. If you book a standard room you can still enjoy the fireplace down in the reception area and sip some local wine.
This is an amazingly beautiful small hotel with charm to spare! The details of the lobby and our room are unsurpassed. Mosaic, marble, wood beams and flooring, real linens on the bed... as in linen! The Roman tub/shower was one that you will want to bathe two or three times a day and stay under it the rain shower for hours! Big, fluffy towels and robes... and little candies strewn across the bed, like flower petals. (A thick mattress pad would be the only thing missing).
The rooms are small but for a short stay, they are well laid out with sitting area and outdoor space. Ours had a small patio with French doors... more charm and fresh air. And, a "proper" ice bucket to chill our wine.
The staff, the only one that we met and a man of many hats, was also very charming. Breakfast in the morning was a small display of pastries and cereal, etc. and coffee made to order. Sitting in a most beautiful room with fine china and tablecloths made you feel like you were welcome in someone's private home.
This hotel is the PERFECT stop to or from the Rome Fiumicino airport. A 30 minute drive is a perfect layover whether ending or beginning your trip. We cannot recommend it highly enough.
Please see my review of the restaurant Taverna dello Spuntino which is attached to the hotel. Another treat.
We flew into Rome on a late flight. By the time we arrived at the hotel it was almost midnight. The reception is staffed 24 hours around the clock, so no worries with getting in.
The lone late reception staff was very gracious. Even though the restaurant was closed he put together an excellent plate of solume. We dined with good local red vino di tavolo, in the beautiful lobby, while the staff went to our car to get the luggage and took them up to our room. The hospitality shown was fantastic and genuine.
Four of us stayed for 3 nights whilst we explored Frascati and surrounding areas. Beautiful hotel in a lovely town. The rooms are well furnished with quality bathroom and beds. The staff could not have been more helpful, arranging visits to vineyards and restaurants and making our stay a real treat. The restaurant attached was superb as was the restaurant in the next building called Peccati Di Gola - so a foodie joy. Ask to visit the cellars below the hotel where wine has been stored for hundreds of years.
