The best part of this hotel was the room. We stayed on the top floor and it felt more like an apartment then a room. Plus the bathroom was huge. The location is also amazing just steps from the Charles Bridge. The only issue is there is no elevator so it wouldn't be ideal for someone with heavy bags. Otherwise I highly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than 5 out of 5"
Even though I was there during the May-June floods, they could not dampen the warmth of the reception at the Domus Balthasar. Wonderful location, great room, and all the staff so welcoming and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellant service, perfect location"
This hotel is a hidden treasure. From the outside you wouldnt know how luxurious and comfortable this hotel is. Rooms are huge and have everything you need. Staff are helpful and friendly with good English. Location is perfect, Petrin Hill and Prague Castle only a 5 minute walk and Charles's Bridge right on the doorstep. Highly recommend for family […] getaway, business stay or group of friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic room. Amazing value."
On first impressions we weren't sure. A large door on the street leads to a narrow corridor and a small reception area but the room was absolutely gorgeous and the people were great. Beautiful big room, really stylish and comfortable with a view of the Charles Bridge. Lovely bathroom. We really really enjoyed our stay and wished we could stay longer. […] Will def go back. Things that didn't bother us but might bother others. There isn't a lift and the stairs are steep. Charles Bridge area can be noisy at night. No aircon although there is a fan..

Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I loved the hotel! Excellent location, excellent room, spacious, clean, comfortable and beautiful. The staff is polite, friendly and helpful, the amenities are great, the bathroom is big and luminous and has a wonderful shower and bathtub. Not to mention that Praga is beautiful! The breakfast is okay. The only drawback is the ladder. You have to carry your bags up the stairs, there's no elevator. If you travel with little baggage and are young (and strong) enough to do it, enjoy it! It's worth it.

What a wonderful hotel. We had such a great stay in the hotel. They had noticed from my passport that it was my birthday when we checked in. Returning from dinner we found a bottle of sparkling wine upstairs - what a nice surprise. We stayed in room 8 (there are only 8 rooms in that little hotel). The room had almost everything we were looking for and has been nicely equipped. For some reason there was no shower gel in the bathroom. That should be standard as coming from somewhere else in the world it cannot be expected, that you carry it along - although the was body lotion there. However, there is a small supermarket in the neighbourhood, that helps. The hotel is located right next to the "Karls Brücke/Charles bridge". There could be no better place for starting to explore the city. Breakfast is served in a bagel shop you can enter directly from the hotel, but thats ok. In a nutshell - being in Prague again is being in the hotel again.......for sure.
This is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. So nice we returned for a 2nd stay during our visit to the Czech Republic. The suite was stunning and had lots of space. The hotel is situated right next to Charles bridge so is very central for all you would want to see in Prague. Breakfast was lovely and the cafe was accessed from within the hotel. We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely be back :)

This is a truly special hotel. When you first arrive and realize that your hotel entrance is a wooden door sandwiched between a money exchange and a souvenir shop, you kind of wonder. Then you go into a longish hall to reception. You may still be going...huh? Then you go up to your room. The rooms are wonderful. (I can't speak to the attic rooms, I didn't see one, but heard that they are charming.) The double room is huge. There are big windows so they are light. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable. Everything was clean. The bath is large with shower stall and bath tub. Even heated floors. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only (small) caveat would be the breakfast. It is taken in the bagel shop next door, and while good, is limited. The location is unbelievably good. The Charles Bridge is right there. Lots of good restraurants within five minutes walk. This hotel is a find. Be aware, there is no lift and there are a lot of stairs. We did not find street noise a problem, even in this busy area. People tend to leave at night.

The welcome was very friendly, the room was amazing and the location is incredibly central. Despite the fact, that we stayed from Sat. to Sun. the noise of the party folks was not annoying us in the third floor. Thanks, highly recommended!
"Fantastic location and rooms"

We got a very good deal via the Hotel's own website by booking less than 6 weeks in advance. When we arrived, our room was a whole suite, with a separate sitting area, kitchenette, and enormous bathroom, as well as a huge comfortable bed. The only minor issues was that the room was very warm, despite having the thermostat turned right down. A fan was provided in the room, but it was a little bit noisy to keep on all night. It really wasn't a big problem though, and i think that Prague is usually much colder in February than it has been this year. The hotel is perfectly located, 2 minutes from the Charles Bridge and about a 10 minute walk to the Castle and the Petrin Hill. We thought that this side of the town was less touristy and a bit quieter than across the river by the Old Square, although it too was easily accessible by foot. The breakfast in the morning was good, with free coffee refills and a choice of either eggs or pancakes, alongside the usual assortment of cereals and fruit and yoghurt. It wasn't a huge spread but it was more than sufficient. The reception staff were all lovely and friendly and spoke fantastic English. They arranged transport from and to the airport for us, and our driver Milan was very chatty and courteous. Would definately recommend to others!

This is a wonderful place to stay - found by coincidence, we got a very good last minute deal via the hotel's website and stayed for 3 nights in February. It is an ideal location: you could see Charles Bridge from our window, really very close! Very spacious room, very clean, warm, well looked after, and very comfy large bed - heated floor in the bathroom is lovely too! Excellent atmosphere in the hotel - lovely old building but kept well and spiralling staircase up to the rooms. Very helpful receptionists and delicious bagel breakfast in next door cafe. Would heartily recommend!

"A place to remember"

I found the Hotel by accident. I am glad I did. We stayed at the Domus for 3 nights in February. This is one of the best boutique hotels we have experienced--not only because of the location (Mala Strana), which other people have already mentioned, but, more important, because of the extraordinary atmosphere created by the people working in the reception. Everyone was very professional, helpful, and timely in addressing our needs. The room we stayed in was very comfortable--spacious and well designed, mixing the past with the present. It is a place worth visiting while in Prague and while trying to escape the crowds in the Old Town.
"Truly A Wonderful Place"

We stayed at the Domus in mid January for 4 nights and found it to be a great place. The hotel is located in a great spot, sparkling clean, and great staff. The rooms are so nice with high ceilings (not the case for the top floor, though those rooms are cute), lovely windows, well furnished, and competitively priced.
