"Decent place but know what neighborhood you're in!"
Great staff. Ladies working the front were exceptional! Like exercise? then take one of the 4th floor rooms. Oh my goodness, what a climb! It certainly is a great warm up for going up the steps to the Castle...haha, that's a wake up call. Be sure to go on up to the monastery for the beer. Excellent. The restaurant was fine. The location is REALLY close […] to the St Charles bridge so be prepared for swarms of tourists and noise. Not so much in the room but anytime you leave the hotel. Very touristy area. I prefer to go visit this type area rather than live in it so beware. I wouldn't stay here again because of the area but the hotel and staff were great. I'd even go say hello if in the area again. "Amazing place in best location in Prague"
Best priced Boutique hotel in Europe. Located by the Charles Bridge in the Little Quarter neighborhood of Prague. Close to everything. Beautifully appointed rooms and spacious, we stayed in room #5 with incredible views of the Charles bridge. Amazingly friendly and super helpful staff. Breakfast included. I will definitely come back to this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Amazing room. Ask for #5. Wood ceiling, lots of windows, spacious. My only complaint is the the bathroom could be a touch cleaner. Obviously it had been cleaned but there were some spots of mildew in bathroom. Not bad but considering how fantastic the staff is, oh fantastic the location is and how fantastic the room is, it seems like that should be […] just as fantastic. I will definitely stay there again. Everyone there was wonderful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, beautiful room"
We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel had an excellent location by the Charles bridge and the room was very spacious and modern. The breakfast buffet was generous, including delicious pancakes, bagels, and eggs. The staff was very friendly and willing to help arrange taxis and dinner reservations. Would definitely recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
The best part of this hotel was the room. We stayed on the top floor and it felt more like an apartment then a room. Plus the bathroom was huge. The location is also amazing just steps from the Charles Bridge. The only issue is there is no elevator so it wouldn't be ideal for someone with heavy bags. Otherwise I highly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location, location, location!!!"
Nice charming hotel 2 minutes walk from Charles bridge and 10 for the old town or castle! Real picture on the web, romantic and cute rooms! But no elevator ;-) We where on the 4 floors so, a lot of stairs especially with the luggage!Genuine Expedia guest review
great hotel, excellent location next to charles bridge, but no noise at night. plenty of nice restaurants and bars close by. very friendly and helpful reception staff. room very clean. transfer from airport to hotel pre arranged with the hotel which all went very smoothly. no hassle or stress. only slight negative is that no air con so room quite warm […] but did have a large free standing fan. no lift so not recommended if you can't climb stairs. for my partner and i it was perfect. Great location, just steps from the Charles bridge. We stayed on the very top floor which was a bit of a hike especially with big suitcases. The room was very unique and romantic, but the air conditioner was a bit loud. Staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than 5 out of 5"
Even though I was there during the May-June floods, they could not dampen the warmth of the reception at the Domus Balthasar. Wonderful location, great room, and all the staff so welcoming and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellant service, perfect location"
This hotel is a hidden treasure. From the outside you wouldnt know how luxurious and comfortable this hotel is. Rooms are huge and have everything you need. Staff are helpful and friendly with good English. Location is perfect, Petrin Hill and Prague Castle only a 5 minute walk and Charles's Bridge right on the doorstep. Highly recommend for family […] getaway, business stay or group of friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic room. Amazing value."
On first impressions we weren't sure. A large door on the street leads to a narrow corridor and a small reception area but the room was absolutely gorgeous and the people were great. Beautiful big room, really stylish and comfortable with a view of the Charles Bridge. Lovely bathroom. We really really enjoyed our stay and wished we could stay longer. […] Will def go back. Things that didn't bother us but might bother others. There isn't a lift and the stairs are steep. Charles Bridge area can be noisy at night. No aircon although there is a fan..

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I found this hotel by chance as I waslookingfor a place to stay for a work trip. It turned to be great in fact. The rooms are huge and clean, the ladies at the reception are very friendly and breakfast is ok. The location adds to the quality of the stay in this small and cosy hotel.

"A very romantic hotel in a very romantic city"

I can say only that our stay at Domus Balthasar was perfect under every aspect: the room was beautiful and romantic (we stayed in the attic), clean, confortable. The position was really great too: 30 mt from Charles Bridge (castle side). You can reach everything in minutes, walking. And speciale thanks to the personal of the hotel: they were kind, polite, helpful and professional in every occasione they helped us :)
"Exceptional location and accommodations for the price."
01/31/15 Kurt R
Best location, practically right next to the Charles Bridge. The rooms were very nice, hostess was very helpful. The hotel lobby area and breakfast area is kind of small but our rooms were big. The best thing about the place was the amazing pancakes at breakfast!
"Quiet but in the middle of the action"
01/29/15 Joana P
We weren't sure if it was going to be a good idea to stay away from the city center but as Prague is so small we were actually in the center. The room was amazing, exactly as in the pictures, the staff was quite friendly wich can be unusual in Prague and the breakfast was in a bagel place (the best in Prague, or so they say) that had a special door that connected to the hotel. We had a great time and if I ever return to Prague I would love to stay there again! The only down side were the mattresses that were too soft so I would sink into the bed but otherwise perfect! The hotel doesn't have a lift, so be prepared to bring up the bags yourself!
"No Better place to stay in Prague"
01/21/15 Fizzio Rutland
A bold statement, as of course it wont be for everyone. No pool, spa, gym etc. However if you want a small, well run, quiet hotel, right in the middle of all the tourist attractions, this is it. The rooms are large and well maintained. The staff, speak good English and are very attentive and helpful. There is a convenience shop opposite if you need anything. Breakfast goes on until 10am with choice of cooked or continental. Wi-fi is free. I would certainly recommend it to anyone

Domus Balthasar was excellent. We had a beautiful suite which comfortably accommodated our family for eight days. The location is great --there's a tram stop a block away, a subway station five blocks away, and Prague Castle, New Town and Old Town are easy to walk to. The staff will go out of their way to help with directions, reservations, and anything else you need. A very good breakfast is provided through the bagel restaurant next door.
"Spacious, comfortable rooms, unbeatable location."
We took a taxi from the airport to the hotel which was booked in advance (sensible, because many other taxi drivers we encountered didn't know the hotel and we had to direct them with "Mala Strana McDonalds" which rather shatters the illusion of romantic medieval getaway). As the hotel advertises, there are no lifts - this is not a hotel for those concerned with accessibility. The narrow entrance leads to a staircase which offers entrance to converted apartments. The rooms themselves are very spacious and comfortable. The beds are massive, the two person bath is a great feature, as is the under floor heating (our visit was in December, so greatly appreciated!). Our room had an excellent view of the Charles Bridge (room 3) through the charming Habsburg era double glazed windows, which line both walls of the apartment. The even numbered rooms are at the back of the building, the odd numbers face on to the street. I have to say that we were so delighted with the room that we were almost sad to leave it. The Domus suffers none of the lack of the homogeneity which plagues so many hotels. Each room is different, each a little quirky. The fittings work well, too. Perhaps the best part of all - it's quiet. Our room faced on to the street, but the hotel is in a part of town that is pedestrianised, so you have the wonderful and rare experience of being at the heart of things, but not feeling overburdened by the bustle. We had no trouble sleeping at all. It's not five star stuff, but I doubt there's a better place to stay in Prague which combines great value with this level of comfort, location and charm. The only real downside is the breakfast. The hotel has an arrangement with the cramped and rather crappy place next door (via a connecting door). It's unworthy of the hotel, but they're bound to it through lack of space on the ground floor. The service was fine, though that's not really what this place is about. Overall, very highly recommended indeed.

This is a wonderful little hotel (8 rooms/suites) with a welcoming and helpful staff, and a perfect location, just a few steps from the Charles Bridge but away from the hustle & bustle of the Old Town. We had one of the suites. It was spacious and comfortable although not luxurious. Breakfast was included at a bagel place accessible through the hotel lobby and included hot food as well as a very good self-service continental breakfast. The immediate neighborhood includes a good selection of restaurants and bars. The Lennon Wall is around the corner, a very short walk gets you to the fascinating Franz Kafka Museum (be sure to check out the sculpture out front!), and about a 20-30 minute walk up the hill brings you to the Prague Castle. Only things I can think of to improve this hotel would be to forbid smoking in the rooms altogether (our room had a sign discouraging people from smoking but not forbidding it; thankfully the room did NOT smell like smoke) and to provide a coffee maker that made real coffee, rather than just boiling water for the instant coffee that was supplied. We would return to Domus Balthasar in a heartbeat.

Domus Balthasar is a great hotel, ideally located close to the Charles Bridge but still very quiet. Our room was really big with a very comfortable bed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is served in the Bohemian cafe, accessible from the hotel. The breakfast is good, especially the blueberry pancakes.
