We are very satisfy with this hotel. It is located in 5 minutes walking distance from Florence central station. Excellent restaurant next door with 10% for hotel guests. We stayed in one of the unit with kitchen. There are supermarkets nearby. Breakfast is buffet style with many choices. Hotel staff is very helpful. They even helped us to print out train tickets when we purchased on line. We would definitely stay in this hotel again if we went to Florence again.

The staff here were fabulous, even calling our hotel in Rome before we left them to ask a question for us. The room for two adults, a 6'+ 15 yr old and a 16 yr old was more then big enough and bright and airy. The bell tower outside the window was beautiful. Staying here you are close to the Duomo and convenient to the train station, which is fabulous when you are training between cities in Rome. We would most definitely stay here again!

Location.
Located in Florence (Duomo), Davanzati is close to Palazzo Davanzati Museum, Ponte Vecchio, and Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. Also nearby are Statue of David and Piazza della Signoria.

This hotel and it's staff are amazing! The hotel is situated in the heart of the city. No need for buses at all. There is wine tasting in the evening... and a nice breakfast in the morning. The staff is amazingly courteous and always trying to figure out how to improve. I have to admit, it is borderline perfect! My daughter arrived in Italy one day before beginning a study abroad semester in Florence. I research hotels and decided on Davanzati. I emailed the hotel to let them know of the situation and that I'd appreciate them taking good care of my daughter as this is her first time in Europe. I was promptly emailed back by Fabrizio and assured that she would […] be well cared for. He also followed up by letting my know that she had arrived safely and he offered to help her if she needed anything while in Florence! Great , unpretentious place to stay, and very friendly welcome. You need to be aware that this is an old building (steep stairs, with no lift from the entrance). But well looked-after, and excellent value for the location.

The wonderful location and genuine welcome made this stay a real pleasure. The daily Happy Hour with free wine is a chnace tomeet other guests and swap tips - a generous gesture from a truly hospitable family-run hotel. Climb the dome! It's worth the 650 steps for the view (and you get a great view of the inside of the cathedral)
