As long as you don't mind either the windy drive up or taking the funicular up the hill, this hotel is perfect. We stayed in the summer and it not only was it cooler up there on the hill but there were hardly any bugs compared to being swarmed down in Como. The Hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. All in all we had a great time. The main problem with the hotel is that it's on top of a mountain overlooking Como. The staff where pleasant and the area was nice. Parking was available but cars needed to be moved around in order to get your car our. concidering your on a mountain, this is to be expected. Our room was the smallest in the hotel and was not that comfortable for a week long stay, might be ok for overnight.

Very comfortable hotel and great value for the price. The restaurant on the ground floor is actually one of the best on the hill. Not much in terms of views from the room, but the streets around it are nice and quiet and its super close to the funicular. This small family-run hotel in Brunate has much to offer for a short break on Lake Como. The hotel is reached by a seven minute almost vertical ride on the funicular from the lake to the village, which offers spectacular views from the viewing points over Lake Como. The owner Federico was happy to arrange a late check-in after 9.30pm. and was extremely […] helpful in many other ways, also setting up a special connection to watch some international sport in our room. He also offered advice about local places to visit in Como and in the area. He advised a day trip to lake Lugarno in Switzerland, a half-hour train journey from San Giovanni Station, and well worth the visit. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the two nearest train stations for which there is a fee. The alternative is a pleasant half-hour stroll to San Giovanni Station from the lower funicular station or a five minute stroll to the Como Lago Nord railway station which offers a handy connection to the Milan Malpensa Airport via Saronno. The walk from the upper funicular station to the hotel is well sign-written and can be done in two minutes (and the cobbled road is smooth enough to trundle your luggage). The Lake Como ferry ticket office is within five minutes stroll from the lower funicular station, with a drop-off quay right in front of the funicular. Despite the shoulder season, there were sufficient ferry connections to see all the main visiting points. We would recommend a ferry trip to Bellagio, about two hours ride on the slow ferry, and spending at least two hours there.The rooms in the hotel appear to have been recently redecorated and the room we had was a fair size with twin beds joined together. Our time was made most comfortable by Federico and Masimo as well as the restaurant staff. Location and views fantastic. Restuarant great quality with good wine. Nearby Polenta restaurant run by Dante was superb. Funiculare down to Como efficient and offers great views. In short great location, great service, friendly and helpful.

Maten var dyr och serverades bara under helgen. Frukosten var enkelt och gott. Rummet var liten. Duschen var inte så rent. Bra med handdukar och bra städning. Resan från Como till hotellet var häftigt. Svårt att hitta Brunate från staden. Enkelt och smidigt att resa med tåg (50m från hotellet) till stadens centrum. Resan med tåget tar 10 min. och kostar […] 20 euro om man resar med 4 pers. (tur och retur) och det är, tycker jag, för dyrt. Roliga cafeer in närheten av hotellet. Nous sommes arrivés tard à l'hotel vers 22h mais nous avons contacter l'auberge et le propriétaire nous a attendu et nous a même servi le repas. Le personnel est très gentil et ils nous ont bien renseigné sur les activités qu'il y avait à proximité. Le funiculaire est très proche et donc cet hotel est idéalement situé car il y a une superbe vue du lac […] de brunate et nous ne serions probablement pas montés sur cette montagne. Hotelliin voi saapua kahdella tavalla: autolla serpentiinitietä pitkin tai funicolare-hissillä. Hissi sijaitsee aivan kiven heiton päässä hotellista. Automatka sen sijaan voi hirvittää arempia.. Hotellissa oli todella ystävällinen palvelu ja englanti sujuvaa. Huoneemme oli siisti, mutta siellä ei ollut ilmastointia. Parveke avautui vessasta. Aamupala […] ei ollut kaikkein laajin mahdollinen, mutta oikein riittävä sämpylöineen, mysleineen ja hedelmineen. Hotellin pihassa oli parkkipaikka, johon mahtuu arviolta kuusi autoa – eipä huoneitakaan taida olla paljoa enempää. Parkkipaikan löytäminen muutoin tulee olemaan ongelmallista. Hotellin läheltä lähtee hyviä retkeilypolkuja ja toisaalta funicolarella matka alas Comon kaupunkiin on todella kätevä. Hotellin lähistöllä on pari ravintolaa, joiden taso on vaihteleva. Read more

Störande trafik gjorde det svårt att sova. Huvudvägen ligger precis bredvid hotellet. Ingen AC vilket gjorde att man behövde ha fönstret öppet dessutom.

Pieni, viihtyisä ja hyvinhoidettu hotelli. Palvelu erittäin ystävällistä, hyvä aamiainen. Funicolare Comoon lähti melkein kulman takaa ja kulki vartin välein. Ylhäällä Brunatessa oli kuitenkin hieman viileämpää kuin Comossa, joten sijainti sopi meille hyvin. Ja mitkä maisemat! Jos tälle seudulle saan vielä palata, niin hotelli on tämä.

Et OK hotell, med et meget hyggelig vertskap. Frokosten var ikke helt på topp, med et lite lekkert brød, men det som klart trekker ned er at hotellet ligger svært avsides og at eneste adkomst til Como er en "funicular" (taubane) som kostet drøye 5 euro per tur. Kan vara bra att veta, hotellet ligger alltså på 1.873 meter över havet! Det betyder ungefär 1.600 meter ovanför Comosjön, vilket i sin tur innebär ca 20 minuter med bil på smala serpentinvägar. MEN DET ÄR VÄRT DET! Rummen är mycket spartanska men rena och fullt fungerande, resturangen och personalen är +5 *****. Väl värt en natt eller två.

Rooms are quite small, but have everything you need in. The thing that gives the top character are the general atmosphere and the hospitality of the staff. You are taken care of. Hotelli oli kotoisa pieni majatalo, ei mitään luksusta mutta siisti ja viihtyisä. Omistajat todella mukavia ja ystävällisiä! Aamupala oli hyvä, määrä oli korvattu laadulla. Alakerrassa vaikutti olevan kylän eloisin pubi, jossa alkuillasta hieman meteliä mutta meno ja meininki ei visiittimme aikana kuitenkaan jatkunut myöhään, eivätkä unemme häiriintyneet. […] Brunaten kylä on todella kiva ja rauhallinen, ja rinnejunalla pääsee kätevästi alas Comon kaupunkiin. Autolla Brunateen ajo on jännittävää, koska tie on jyrkkä ja erittäin mutkainen ja kapea. Näkymät Brunatesta ovat mahtavat.
