This is a great accommodation option for those looking for LOCATION! The hotel is just off Piazza Navona, and we walked everywhere. The colosseum was about a ten minute walk, with the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain within 5-10 minute walk too. The Spanish Steps could be reached in 10/15 minutes and we walked straight into St Peter's Square in about ten […] minutes. The hotel room had tea/kettle, great shower and a hairdryer. The room was small but clean, with a large flat screen TV (the room had Sky, but note that all the channels except for Sky News were in Italian! Not really a problem since you should be out exploring Rome anyway!). The building is basic but full of character, and the staff were friendly with good English. Free WiFi in the rooms. Stay here for an excellent rate and a great location to explore Rome, but be aware that it is basic, not a luxury hotel! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the centre of Rome"
We really enjoyed our stay in Rome. This hotel is in a fantastic location. Just across the road is the Piazza Navonna. We got tickets for the shuttle-bus to Rome onboard the aircraft and we walked from Piazza Covonna to the Hotel which was about 15 mins. We did have a bit of trouble locating the Hotel as the name plate is quite small and situated by […] the side of an enormous front door. However, it is opposite the Museum on the Piazza San pantaleo. There wasn,t any breakfast, but tea and coffee are supplied to which you can just help yourself. The towels were changed every other day and the room was average in size with french doors leading out onto a small balcony with plants which was lovely as the weather was warm and sunny and we would rather have the doors open than switch on the air conditioning. We were able to walk everywhere as the location is so central which was a real bonus. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"an excellent service"
We had a wonderful time, personnel were very helpful and sympathetic , very well located. The room was very clean and comfortable . Close to everywhere. We only think that the coffee facilities should include small plates and cutlery. We would recommend to our friends and return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sentralt, men dårlig renhold"
"Residenza san Pataleo, Rom - centralt beliggende"
"Hotel Residenza san Pantaleo"
Fint hotel. Flinkt personale. Svært at finde, da det ikke lå på den angivne adresse, og man kun kunne se, at det var et hotel på skiltet ved dørtelefonen. Der var meget lydt til omkringliggende værelser og gang.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Allows for a real Roman experience!"
01/03/14 becsiri Sydney, Australia
What a fabulous place to stay! Right in the heart of Rome, we could not fault it in any way! Having stayed in Rome before, I could undoubedtly say that this is a great place to stay! As a young couple, it was extremely reasonable and just what you need for your Roman experience. Although there are limited facilities, it has everything you need!! We stayed in room 7, it has beautiful high ceilings, ample space and beautiful view over corso emmanuelle and piazza del compo. It gets a tad noisy with the sirens, but best to sleep with the window closed and the air-conditioning on, in order to block out the nose. The host was amazing, showed us fabulous places to eat and provided us with a map to locate them all! Walking distance to the vatican, the colosseum, the pantheon & more! We purchased the hop-on & hop-off bus tickets yet hardly used them - all thanks to our fab location. There is access to a fridge, kettle etc. which is good considering there is no breakfast included. This is not really an issue considering there is a beautiful market in the mornings in the piazza across the road & convenience stores less than a block away. Our highlight of Rome was the restaurant right next to the hotel called Cul De Sac - we now consider it our home away from home! Best food & most extensive wine menu! Once you eat here, it will make it very hard to try anywhere else!

Great location, warm and comfortable. Staying here felt like we had our own place in Rome. Breakfast is not included but there is access to hot water, fridge and tea and coffee. The good thing about staying here is the fact you are right in the middle of things, its a great base to explore Rome. Its not high end luxury but the room we stayed in ( ROOM 5) is spacious and has great views of Campo di fiori, if you request this room via email they will keep it for you. I have heard some of ther rooms dont have views or are smaller. The room had a double bed and also a single bed so would also suit 3 friends or a family. There is a fridge in the room so we came prepared with a bottle of fizz so we enjoyed a nice aperitivo overlooking campo di fiore. Would definitely recommend this place. Staff are friendly and professional.

Wonderful experience. The location was fantastic, walking distance from almost every famous Roman attraction. Good transport links; friendly staff (whom you almost never see, but everything's always neat and tidy); very clean rooms and all at a pretty good price (bookings.com). Highly recommend it.
"WAY above expectations!!"

We booked this hotel on booking.com and got a great deal. We were simply looking for a nice, clean, safe place to stay in the centre of Rome, and we got MUCH more than we were looking for! We are a young couple who live to explore the sights, shops & streets during the day, and find places to go out for food and drinks at night. Location: It's perfect. It was truly right in the centre of everything. We walked everywhere and had no issues with it. In fact, we were surprised when we'd reach our destination, that it was really that close. Good proximity to many shops, bars, restaurants! Close to the beautiful Piazza Navona. Also, a VERY short walk to Trastevere neighbourhood with good nightlife! Staff: Friendly and accommodating. The room was spotless each time we'd return at the end of the day. The room: We were in the main building where you check in, at 187 Corso Vittorio Emanuelle - Room #1. It was large. It had AC, a mini fridge and a very comfortable bed. Extra pillows. A lot of space by even North American standards, let alone the heart of Rome! The bathroom was clean, spacious. It was truly perfect. Recommended if: you like to go out and explore the city on foot (day and night) you want a clean, safe, peaceful hotel room to relax in you want to try many restaurants, bars, shops in the area (day and night) you want to relax and enjoy all the beauty of Rome
"Felt like an Italian resident"

There are 4 buildings that are part of the hotel. All in close proximity of one another. We turned up at one & was then directed 100mtrs to the correct building. We were given a set of keys on check in for access to the building & room & never saw a member of staff again throughout the stay ( we didn't need anything so we were fine with this). The room was very modern & clean. The only negative thing is that a light in the room had a sensor so when nipping to the bathroom in the night all the lights came on!?! The location is superb!! Just off piazza Navona , a very bustling & viberant square with plenty of bars & restaurants. Would definitely stay again.
"Another nice stay"

I'm glad to get back again in Rome especially at Residenza San Pantaleo which is like a second home for me. Rooms very clean, very friendly staff, great location. definitely recommend this place to everyone!
"Our Default in Rome"

San Pantaleo basically occupies one floor of a historic building in the San Pantaleo Piazza, which is literally steps away from the famous Piazza da Navona. You just can't get any more central and convenient than this! You can walk everywhere! (In fact, I would never advise driving in this city when you are here for tourism). This is a minimal service hotel. There is no one at the front desk most of the time. You basically inform the staff when you will be arriving and they ensure that someone is there for your check in but otherwise you almost never see a soul. The best part of the San Pantaleo is the rooms with 25-ft ceilings (not all have high ceilings, so be sure to request one of these if this appeals to you). Ultimately, if you are looking for a place that is charming, convenient, and reasonably priced, this is the place for you. I wouldn't recommend to travelers who like their room service etc. as this is definitely no frills.
It's hard to beat such a great location, we walked to all the main attractions and there's a popular wine bar just round the corner. We were lucky to get a large room with a view of campo defiora, and it was immaculately cleaned each day. On the down side we hadn't noticed it didn't include breakfast, something we'd become accustomed to for the past 3 weeks around italy! the shower was pretty awful as it was set too high and sprayed all over the floor. We struggled to find it but once you're there no problems. We were also generously left an exterior key all day to leave our luggage there. Great for an easy going self service option in a perfect spot.

To all customers: when booking a room be careful as there are two properties this hotel offers. I believe the one in the main building is better and more modern. NOT ADVISED FOR: - people who prefer a lot of space in their rooms, - who prefer 24/7 assistance or concierge - whoever finds it strange to have a hotel with not many amenities (ie restaurant/bar etc) ADVISED FOR: - young couples (not honeymoon couples) - single people it may be a bit more bothersome for older people and families as space in the room is limited. Overall a very clean well kept hotel. All that is needed is there. Clean modern bathrooms and clean modern rooms (these are the rooms in the main building). The staff was always very helpful, and always ready to solve the problem as soon as possible (the safe in the room was broken so asked to repair it, repaired within the next day!) Hope this helped
"Great location, ok price, otherwise not so great"

Firstly, small room, but they say in Rome that is to be expected. Furniture is very nice. No carpet in the room and no slippers, and it is December and it was raining a little, so not worm and not dry enough to walk without slippers on cold floor (so bring them with you). There was an air conditioner but we couldn't find a remote. Room was very clean and they cleaned it every day. But they don't change towels every day (and that is noted on the bathroom door). Stuff was very helpful and pleasant. Bathroom was very bad, to small to turn around in it and there is now picture on booking.com of that bathroom, don't know why. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture, I forgot. Pressure of water was poor. What we didn't expect at all was that hotel doesn't have it's own building. You go in big building, go on forth floor, and then through one door, and you enter a hallway with tiny reception (where somebody comes only by need), place to make coffee and tea, and along the hallway there are few rooms. That door is actually this hotel, on other floor we saw one more hotel, and rest of the doors are probably residential apartments. There are two sets of rooms in two separate buildings that belong to this hotel. One is in main building, one showing in the first picture on tripadvisor (with the monument in front), and other is behind the corner, at the Corso Vittorio Emanuele 187. So they are minute walk from each other, but when we arrived they direct us to that other building (although on booking we didn't reserve room in other building). Room they showed us was very unpleasant. Again, good furniture, even big enough, but to come in you have to climb a really steep and long stairway, and there was only one small window (but 20x30cm small!) in whole room. We asked for other building (when she explained about two buildings and why I didn't see that room or entrance on pictures at all), and she put us in other building with no problem. At night, we didn't hear noise from the outside, but everything else we heard like it is going on right next to us. Everything in the hallway and especially from the apartment above us. Location is perfect. You are by Piazza Navona and Pantheon and withing a walking distance from Vatican, Colosseum, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza di Spagna, So it is a perfect location.
