"lovely hotel, amazing view"
had a lovely stay here, clean and comfortable, apparently close to fornillo, which we didnt visit, but it is 20 mins to positano centre including a large uphill staired section. apart from that worth it considering the experience and costGenuine Expedia guest review
"A home away from home"
Pensione Casa Guadagno was wonderful! The rooms were very clean, the view was spectacular and the family/owners were so friendly and accomodating. I can't wait to go back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
View was great!! Nothing fancy and just a little out of the way, But great for the non snob on a budget. A perfectly acceptable place to rest your head.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel with great seaview"
Had a great stay here for 3 nights. We had a balcony with a great seaview it was lovely. Itailan breakfast was included and also a nice view from the dinning area. It was quite in the hotel which made it easy to sleep. The bed mattress was a little hard and sometimes it took a few mins for the toilet to flush as you had to wait for the tank to fill […] but these were minor issues considering the price of the rooms. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
444 steps to get to the beach but this is the way in Positano, very noisy city.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, awesome views from Balcony"
Spartan but comfortable room. We were in a triple room, that had a huge balcony with killer views (only partially obstructed). It's a 20-25 minute walk to the main beach or you can catch a regular and frequent bus there. There are some very good resaturants within 2-5 minutes walking distance (also with great views). There's a convenient laundromat […] about 5 minutes walk. It's a family run pensione and the hosts are very warm and friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Relaxing holiday in a great spot"
It was a real pleasure to stay here; the weather was warm, the breakfast room and our balcony both had fantastic views, and the hotel is at the top of the steps down to the lovely Fornillo beach (the smaller, quieter one in Positano). We enjoyed the home-baked croissants every day for breakfast, loved the room decor, and didn't miss the lack of a TV. […] Wireless internet that worked in the hotel room would have perhaps been better, but the breakfast room (where it did work) was always available (and anyway, always having the internet available isn't so good for holidays). The staff at the hotel were always very friendly and helpful to us, and we would go back to the same place. (June 2013) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice stay in Positano"
A good place to stay, located about half-way up the hill making it relatively easy to get to and to then proceed down to the marina/beach area. Getting to the bottom of Positano takes about 10 minutes via the stairs to the beach, however there are quite a few restaurants located just outside the hotel if you dont feel like walking down. Staff could […] have been a little more helpful on our arrival; we stayed one night and they were fairly helpful the day we left. Good breakfast is provided and the room had good sea views, was clean and comfortable (although like most Italian accommodation the bathroom was a bit of a squeeze). "Enkelt familjehotell med bra service"
Mycket rymligt rum för tre personer. Personalen mycket vänlig och serviceinriktad. Helt OK frukost som ingick i priset. Enda nackdelen var läget med en hel del trappor om man har mycket bagage att släpa från bilen.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly owners, relaxed atmosphere"
02/06/15 J C Medina, Ohio
Our family of two adults and two children (10 and 12) enjoyed our stay at this pensione. We were looking for someplace to relax after traveling around Italy for 2 weeks and this lovely little place fit the bill. The room, while no frills, was clean and spacious with a very large balcony that we essentially had to ourselves. The owners were friendly and helpful, even arranging a dinner reservation for us at a wonderful restaurant in the area. Breakfast every morning was tasty and satisfying and served by a very friendly staff on the lovely balcony with a sea view. The only downside was the distance from the main square, but I have a feeling that walking is a challenge anywhere in this seaside town. Overall a very nice place to stay.
"Great little B&B"
10/25/14 JillDV8 Brisbane, Australia
Three friends and I stayed in this lovely little B&B. We had two twin rooms overlooking the water with balconies. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms modern. Good showers. There is a bar downstairs and a breakfast room upstairs. Breakfast consists of tea and coffee, cereal, bread, jams etc, fruit and yoghurt and a hot croissant. The B&B is halfway up the hill near the Fornillo bus stop at the grotto. There are 4 restaurants within 2 minutes walking and the rest of the shops in Positano a 15 minutes walk downhill. Small buses leaves every half hour and do the circuit from the bottom up to the Chiesa Nova and back down again. Tickets are cheaper if purchased from the Tabacchi but can be bought on the bus for a little more. Porters take luggage up the hill (for those arriving by ferry from Salerno, a great way to arrive) for around twenty euros a piece so not cheap. There is a laundromat about 5 minutes walk away but the person working there the day we wanted to wash was neither friendly nor helpful. There was free wifi. The staff are very friendly. Sabrina on reception was delightful and couldn't have been more helpful.
"A great stay"

Although we didn't actually stay in this Pensione...we were in another Pensione a few metres away. They have an agreement with the folk who have 4 rooms nearby. A pleasant sea view although a bit further away than expected. Room very clean and adequate with a fridge and a beautiful big balcony with a swinging chair. Lovely for an afternoon drink. Air conditioning cost more. Breakfast was at Casa Guardagno and was beautiful up on the terrace...best croissants ever! Annalisa and Sabrina were delightful. Great location as easy walking distance to the main town of Positano downhill, close to the restaurants. Enjoyed staying near the fornillo stairs as a bit quieter than the main area of Positano BUT remember there are over 400 steps down to the beach. Must go to Guidos bar....lots of fun plus he has a boat which will take you around to the main area of Positano for free.
"Great views and value for money"

We requested a sea view room and it was great value for money. The view was awesome and definitely good value for money. Breakfast was simple but good and as always the coffee is always good. The hotel owners are easy to deal with and you feel part of a family :-)

"A Fantastic Hotel that Took Our Breathe Away"

Imagine waking up each morning with wonderful views of the sea. This was truly an amazing hotel and when i walked in i wondered where's the TV then realized with views like you do outside of the rooms you don't need a TV. The hotel was great, breakfast could be a little more substantial but i do like eating. Rooms were clean but the real hidden gem was you walk down the stairs. I think a review said 200 something (more like 400 when we counted) however it then takes you down to a beach which is not the main beach so that its quiet. The accommodation is just out of the main hustle and bustle and is absolutely perfectly located. Would most definitely stay there again, had an amazing time and Positano is completely stunning and amazing.
"Nice place to stay in positano"
04/21/14 shauna b
Staff were friendly and check-in and out was smooth. The breakfast was tasty itialian style food. Rooms met my expectations for the price and we had a sea view room with a beautiful view and our own private deck. It was a long walk uphill from the city center but the whole city is built on a hill so climbing hills and stairs is unavoidable and to be expected. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
"Wonderful friendly and relaxing"
11/02/13 Gary L Sydney, Australia
What a star, family run, perfect position, and peaceful, the pensione so suited our experience of Positano in Sept 2013. We had a fabulous view of the ocean and the staff were very helpful, the breakfast suited our needs and recommending the local restaurant Ill Fornilo was the icing on the cake. This is what a holiday should be all about. Relaxing, beautiful views and food to die for, that's it in a nutshell. We are telling everyone to stay at casa Guadagno AND please go to Ill Fornillo, you won't be dissapointed. Also do the local red bus down to positano central to the town beach and walk up the ramp over the warf, around the headland to the littlebeach, much better for swimming and dining, the water is refreshing and offers that something else. Loved it all highly recommended.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful. We loved staying here. A lovely family buisness. small but comfortable rooms. we had a balcony to a beautiful room. Service was friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated close to the road up top not the beach. But we found this an advatage as we didn't have to drag lugge down then up all the stairs. And it was so easy to walk around everywhere once you settled in. We were in Positano for 3 days in september 2013. And would go back in a heartbeat and especially to Pensione casa guadagno :)
