I am a return guest to the Estherea. The hotel is quite enjoyable. One can tell that it is a labor of love on the part of the owner and staff. Some visitors from abroad my find the room size cramped but this is, in my opinion, more of an issue with European hotels and less with the Estherea. The Estherea is in a great location, it is beautifully decorated, the service is excellent and the staff is friendly and professional. I recommend it highly.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! My only suggestion would be to give more detailed instructions on how to arrive from the airport to the hotel. It is not included in the hotel shuttles and we had a hard time finding out how to take the public transportation. Ended up taking a taxi which cost €40. But it is worth the trouble. Very nice hotel and includes a nice breakfast. We would definitely stay again if visiting Amsterdam.

Only stayed here 1 night - it was convenient and cheaper than the airport hotels for an overnight. Right acrosss the street from the central train station (5 minutes walk), 4.40 Euro and <30 minutes to the airport, lots of restauraunts in the area and plenty of shops - conevnient for luggage as well! Free wifi new TV's. Would stay here again.

This hotel is good value for the money. The room was big, clean and we had a great view of the canal. The hotel is very close to tram stations, restaurants and super markets. We would definitely consider this hotel again.

Didnt clean the room. Not before we came and not in the all visit.The water flow in the shawer was too slow and the toilets was stinks all the time.

...but noisy because of it! The place was ok. Charming in that it was in an old style Dutch house, but for the price, it didn't quite have the standard of service & facilities that you might hope for.

I was on holiday with friends for a few nights for a stag. For our needs the hotel was just about right. Rooms are small and all basic facilities are there. Hotel is very conveniently located about less than 5mins from Dam Square. However i would only recommend this hotel to a group of young people going as a group of friends who are not fussed about […] accomadtion. Nice location and good prices but the rooms were really really dirty. The sheets hade some stains of mould on them and the floor hadn´t been vaccumed for some time... In the evening when you returned to the hotell after beeing out on the town the entire day it smelled horrible in the room. Breakfast wasn´t very good either. Some dry bread and some corn […] flakes. Vistelsen på hotellet har mycket mer att önska.Trångt rum dåligt underhåll och mycket lyhört. Utsikt från fönster tegelvägg 0.5 m bort. Toalett så trång att det knappt gick att sätta sig. Kommer inte att rekommendera detta till vänner.

We booked 2 x 3 person rooms. 1 was with fridge. Both was with view right into a wall. TV's were old. WiFi costs, eventhough Hotels.com says different. WiFi only reached 1 of the rooms, but speed was OK. Hotel staff were all very sweet. Room facilities are very old. Location very good. Close to sightseeing, canal tours, shopping, public transport, red […] light, coffee shops, food and is placed in the charming area of Amsterdam. Overall OK if you're out exploring Amsterdam. Hotellet ligger midt i Sentrum. Noe som gjøre at det er lett å finne fram. Beliggenheten er så bra at du har neste alt rett utenfor dør. Prisen gjøre det at jeg ville ha valgt dette hotelle på nytt. Invedig er det helt avslappen. Noen bratte trapper opp til rom og resepsjonen. Det gir jeg minus på. Siden de med tung bagasje for litt utfordring opp. […] Det er bra rengjøring i rommet. Frokosten er dårlig. Spis ute mener jeg. Anbefaler ikke dette hotellet til familier. Siden de kan ha lange dager på hotellet. Hotellet var ikke noe spesielt, men det ligger bra til i forhold til butikk, busstopp, cafe og generelt sentrum. Men hygiene og komforen var helt avvikende. Vi hadde mus på rommet som spiste på all maten, dette gjorde at vi måtte kaste alt. Vi våknet mitt på natten av at musene kravlet og krafset rundt på gulvet og i eiendelene våre. Hotelleieren "hjalp" […] oss via å pakke inn stålull i hullene og så malte han over det igjen, dette funket en natt men så var musene tillbake. Det kunne ikke bli gjort noe mer med dette, vi fikk ikke tilbud om nytt rom eller noe annet. Vi var tre personer på ett to-mansrom, de hadde bare flyttet inn en ekstra seng som gjorde at plassen var minimal. Jeg lå på en madrass som var full av ekle flekker, og lakenet som var over var for litet for sengen, så det gjorde at jeg vær morgen våknet midt på madrassen og lakenet lå krøllete i et hjørne. Jeg prøvde å klage men de forstod ikke. Det endte med at jeg selv måtte "stjele" meg et laken fra et vaskerom som jeg la over mitt forige laken. Alt i alt var hotellet helt elendig, vil ikke anbefale det på noen måte. Det eneste som var bra var beliggenheten, men det veide ikke opp for resten av problemene. Ikke bo her! Read more

Hotellet ligger mycket bra i centrala Amsterdam men där slutar också dess fördelar. Entrén består av en brant trappa upp till andra våningen där reception/frukostrum ligger vilket är nog kämpigt med resväskor. Rummet vi bodde i, 209, luktade mögel, hade stora fuktfläckar i taket och synligt mögel i badrummet. Vi frågade en tjej ur personalen om det […] gick att byta till ett annat rum som inte hade mögelproblem men hon svarade helt ärligt att det var så i alla rum. ENGLISH: Perfect for young people (ages 18-20) who takes a few days to Amsterdam to experience the city life, red light district and various coffee shops and become intoxicated enough to go to sleep in a room where there are holes in the wall, disgusting bathroom, a radiator that is hung with wires, the view from the room is a wall, curtains with something […] that looks like blood!, walls thinner than paper so you can hear everything in the hotel and if can skip breakfast. Of course it is impeded on what to ask for the price, but when you consider how few improvements they could make (cheap) to make it a place worth being, I do notunderstand them. The location however is top notch, walking distance to (almost) everything and OK service. The beds are OK, so if you are drunk or stoned/high enough it's no problem to sleep in the room. Selvfølgelig er det begænset for hvad man kan forlange til den pris, men når man tænker på, hvor få forbedringer de kunne gøre (billigt) for at det bliver et sted der er værd at være, så forstår jeg dem ikke. Beliggenheden er tilgengæld top notch, gå afstand til (næsten) alt. Sengene er OK, så hvis man er fuld eller skæv nok er det ikke noget problem er at sove på værelset. You are paying for the location of the hotel when staying at Ajax. It's in walking distance to "everything". The room was small and the bathroom even smaller. The walls are so thin you can hear everything that is said on the street outside and in the other rooms of the hotel. The staff is friendly.

Dieses Hotel kann nur auf Grund der Lage empfohlen werden. Alles andere geht gar nicht! Wer also au der Suche nach einem sehr gut gelegenen Hotel, bzw. Absteige ist, der darf hier gerne zuschlagen. Bitte Duschtücher selbst mitnehmen... Glaubt mir!
