The location is perfect, right across the street from the Valporetto (the water bus). Eugenio, the concierge is the best I have experienced in any hotel in any country. He went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. Coffee and tea any time of day, letting me use the hotel computer (several times), arranging a free motorboat ride to the glass works in Murano,marking a map with the number of the valporetto to take (including the times for when we had to leave early to get to the airport, and just being one of the nicest people I have ever met! The room was spacious and immaculate with three windows, one overlooking the Grand Canal. The bathroom was spotless and well lit, even had a towel warmer for the towels, the heating control was well appreciated since it snowed the day we arrived! With the Valporetto station just across the street it is easy to get anywhere in Venice. About 20 minutes from the bus station at Pont Roma on the 5.1 to the hotel. Or take the line 1 and cruise down the Grand Canal on the way to the hotel. I love Lido since one doesn't have to cross bridges or walk a long way to the hotel and there are many restaurant choices within a 2 block area.

Very pleased with the Hotel Cris. Employees we met spoke excellent Engish and assisted in our dinner reservations and taxi pickup. Breakfast was typical... Italy with a nice selection of meats, cheese, juice, cereal and coffee or cappacino. Room was small, but very adequate with European efficiency. We were a family of five with three young girls. The location is amazing. great price - fraction of centre of venice and pinpoint location (40 metres) for bus access direct into the centre of venice. Elena at reception/breakfast and everywhere else it seemed, was just perfect. She told us about everything we needed to, was very helpful in every way […] and did everything unreservedly and with a smile, she even went out and swept the car park clear of snow so our car could get out. With a young family security is everything and I wont research again when i go to venice, I will just stay at hotel cris. I have nothing constructive/critical too add.
