The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast consisted of eggs, cold meat, cereal and fresh baked croissants. This hotel is great value! It is a 10 minute walk from the Mestre bus/train station, next door to a supermarket and close to kebab/pizza restaurants and some pubs. It is very easy to get into central Venice. There is a bus right across the street that comes every 10 mins and takes about 12 mins to get to the main bus station in Venice. It costs a little over a euro one way and you can get the ticket at the reception (along with vaporetta tickets). Keep in mind though that st.mark's square is about a 35 min walk from Piazalle Roma ( the bus station). Unless you want to lug your bags through the narrow, busy streets and (many) staircases of Venice and pay a fortune for a dump, I would recommend staying in the Mestre area and this hotel was great value for the money.

We stayed 1 night only and were very happy with the hotel. Dont forget to get you key from Hotel Luca as the Casa Dolce has no reception. The feeling of the hotel is as you were resident of Venice. We highly recommend it.

"Venice Gem"
The hotel was a great find, the hotel was a very nice. The staff was very helpful and very nice. He gave us great suggestions. We loved the location in a quiet neighborhood, but only a few minutes walk to the main square area. Easy to get to from the boat taxi and a grocery store around the corner. The only thing someone might not like here was the […] bed, it was hard and not overly comfortable and the slatted bed did squeak. HOWEVER, everything else about the hotel was really nice and convient. Do Not be afraid about their star rating, considering the price, the staff, location, this is a hotel to look into. Read more

"Alloggi Barbaria i Venedig"
Trevligt och helt ok hotell för en ganska billig peng. Vi hade jätteproblem att hitta dit så tipset är att ta vattenbussen när man kommer till Venedig. Åk till hopitalet och sen är det bara 1 min promenad.
"Netter Familienbetrieb"
Alloggi Barbaria liegt 5-10 Gehminuten von St Marco entfernt und befindet sich in einem relativ ruhigem Viertel. Das Hotel hat nicht viel Prunk und wirkt auf den ersten Blick eher wie eine Herberge oder ein Hostel. Die Zimmer sind groß und etwas einfach eingerichtet aber wirklich sehr sauber. Im Kühlschrank befinden sich Getränke die man zu wirklich […] moderaten Preisen kaufen kann. Was es aber zu einem sehr empfehlenswertenen Hotel macht, ist die kleine Familie von der es geführt wird. Diese war immer sehr nett, höflich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten leider direkt vor dem Fenster eine Baustelle mit Baugerüst auf Fensterhöhe, das hat das Ganze ein wenig getrübt, aber die Arbeiten haben eigentlich nicht vor 9.00 Uhr angefangen und später aufstehen wollten wir sowieso nicht. Das Frühstück war wirklich sehr einfach, 2 Brötchen Butter, ein bisschen Frischkäse, Marmelade, Joghurt und ein süßes Teilchen für jeden. Das hat aber allemal zum satt werden gereicht. Die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten liegen alle in der Nähe und sind zu Fuss gut zu erreichen, wer aber trotzdem Venedig mit dem Boot entdecken möchte, hat die Vaporettostation Ospendale (ca. 3min) und Fontamente Nuove (ca. 10min) in unmittelbarer Nähe von denen man Lido oder den Canal Grande per Schiff erreicht. El hotel tiene una excelente ubicacion, queda cerca de todo, hasta de Arcenale donde te deja el bote. Las habitaciones sumamente amplias y muy limpias, aunque elaspecto del hotel no es nada bonito.
