"I'd stay there again"
Hotel is off the beaten path which is refreshing. They have complimentary bikes you can use for a day. Staff very friendly. Amazing breakfast. Close proximity to the Bahnhof West Station. Rooms don't have AC, so can get toasty. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice and Comfortable Hotel"
The rooms were clean and simple, but served our needs. The lack of AC was a little frustrating, but not too bad.Genuine Expedia guest review
"no window in the bathroom"
tiny room. Not even a single hole in the bathroom for fresh air. Except that everything is good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Adequate Accommodations in Interlaken West"
Hotel is a little weathered and worn, but close train station (500m) for what essentially was a 1-day stay. Breakfast was ordinary and there was a decent restaurant down the street. Room was large, bathroom small. View front front window was amazing with Jungfrau peaks directly in front of hotel. Area was very nice, though street in front of hotel could […] be busy. Hotel was 0.5km from main part of town. Overall, a decent hotel but nothing fancy. Front desk was nice and helpful with directions and information.
Personal sehr freundlich. Zimmer ist ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cozy place ... but has limited amenities to offer"
12/04/14 NyN121 Pune, Maharashtra, India
This was my first time in Swiss and I was so awed with the place that it did not matter how the hotel was, maybe because of this the hotel did not disappoint me. It is a cozy looking place with a facade of dark brown wood. Very photogenic exteriors. The hotel staff also is cooperative and always ready to help. Location wise this place is just 2 mins walking from the Interlaken West station, so very convenient. There is an Indian restaurant 'Little India' (not sure if I got the name correct) just besides the railway crossing. So for Indians travelling they might get food to eat here. Interlaken West station also has a ferry station right besides it from where one can take a ferry over the Thun Lake. So location wise the hotel is very convenient. The shortcoming is the amenities ... well there isn't any to really speak. The bathrooms are very small, the heaters do not always work, one would have to go to the reception if you want to fetch some hot water for a coffee or anything else. But again like I said, it doesn't matter when you go to swiss, one would barely want to stay in the hotel. We had taken a CP meal plan (Including Breakfast). For Breakfast there aren't much choices for vegetarians like me. Even for the non-veggies I doubt that the beef/pork bologna is going to suit Indian taste. But thankfully we got some bread, fruits and coffee. My take on this place, go if you get a very good deal else, there are better places in Interlaken.
"September short stay"

Cannot overstate how helpful and friendly the staff were. A classical Swiss hotel with views that match the description. Good breakfast and bar facilities. It is only a short 5 minute walk from the Interlaken West train station and on a bus route too. The shops and restaurants are within 10 minutes walk. A great place to explore the locality.

We booked this hotel as it seemed to have Swiss feel to it and we were pleased to see the facade; I believe to maintain which, they have reception entry from the side. We were told at the reception, that we have been upgraded to a superior room, however the room was a shocker. It was in back extension of the main building with window opening to a parking lot. No view in switzerland is not what we expected! Room has basic amenities, not worth for the amount we paid for. Likes: The hotel is quite close to Interlaken station - which was helpful Its not in the main market, so was quiet Room size is good Hot water all day round They gave us free passes for local transport usage and were overall very helpful in guidance Dislikes: No view in our room No AC in June could bother Limited breakfast They dont send iron to room, but have a separate ironing room where you may go and iron your clothes. I dont mind ironing my clothes, as long as i dont have to pass across half of the hotel with clothes in my hand!
"Hotel Chalet Swiss Interlaken - Great holiday"
08/25/14 Alister J Shrivenham, United Kingdom
We have just returned from our best ever family holiday and stayed in he Chalet Swiss for 1 week and couldn't have done better in our choice of hotel. Check in was really easy, quick and most helpful, especially Mariam who also provided sound travel advice and restaurant options. The hotel was clean, very comfortable and the staff went out of their way to cater for our needs. Our room was a superior room and had a split level accessible with staircase to an upper bedroom which was great for the kids and gave us all a bit of space; the beds were also very comfortable. A refreshing change as so many hotels have you cramped into a single room. There was a good variety of quality food on offer at the Continental breakfast and you can eat as much as you like. There isn't kettles in the room for good reason it's a wooden building but tea making facilities are available. We stayed in the annex building situated directly behind the main building and each room has a good size balcony with great views over the mountains. The annex also has a sauna and whirlpool and not forgetting the bar, so plenty of options to relax after long walks. The bus stop is located just outside the hotel and goes straight to town 2/3 mins or take a 10 min walk. Restaurants are enroute or in town; I recommend Cafe De Paris, or Italian in the old town. Overall, a lovely family stay and our thanks go to all of the staff who made us very welcome.
"Average Hotel...View offered is parking lot"
08/02/14 travel_o_o_logues New Delhi, India
Like: - Decent size room - We were told that we were upgraded to deluxe room - Old building where breakfast is served has an old world charm about it - Check in was smooth. Lady at the desk was quiet helpful Dislikes: - We booked the hotel seeing the front Swiss Architecture but 90% of the rooms are in a building behind it which was disappointing - The view from room is parking lot which is the last thing you want when staying in Switzerland - No AC in rooms. We felt suffocated without AC - The entrance to our room was through a bar - Bathroom was like too small -Lady managing the breakfast had a certain sense of coldness about her.Deciding on which table to sit on for breakfast sometimes was also forced on you. - Breakfast spread was limited I would not go to this hotel again. But then this was my experience.
"A special hotel with superb staff"
07/18/14 Colin B
Our holiday could have been spoiled by bad wealther but the staff ensured they did everything possible to.mitigate the problem. The hotel was a chalet and retains many delightful features. It has magnificent views of the Jungfrau and a very cosy atmosphere Breakfast is buffet style with all one would expect of a continental breakfast. The real delight however is the staff. From the owners to the maids and the gardener all are cheerful, polite and could not be more helpful to all their guests. You should totally ignore the reviewer who said they were racist. We have seen them deal with guests from all over the world with real courtesy ,often in their own language and with humour.
"TERRIBLE STAFF, NOT RECOMMENDED"
06/23/14 Aditya C New Delhi, Delhi, India
The hotel staff was very very rude, there was no basic amenity, not even electric kettle in the room, breakfast always used to finish, To top it all, they over charged us. We had booked thru booking.com and at the time of settling the bill, they charged us more than the price booked for, clear case of cheating. We are taking it up with booking.com as we did not have time to clarify at the time of settling the bill on check out. All in all definitely a no no to stay specially for Indians who are used to courtesy and utmost hospitality.
"Very comfortable Hotel and a room with a view"

This was a very quaint and rustic hotel. The rooms were good a good size and the hotel staff was terrific! The included breakfast was very nice and always filled us up. We had a room in the front of the hotel that was not noisy and had a beautiful view of the mountains. I would recommend this hotel, a very short distance to the train station and downtown Interlaken. I would stay there again. It is not luxurious, but very adequate and very clean!!
"Make sure you get a room in the main building with a good view!"
11/07/13 May-Kang-79 Singapore, Singapore
If you can't get a room in the main building facing the mountains, don't bother staying here. The other building has no view and it has a carpark right next to it so it gets very noisy when vehicles pull in. The breakfast was pretty good in terms of variety and quality. Staff was friendly too. No free wifi. You need to pay. Very very basic place. You can find a better lodging in Interlaken.
"Terrible hospitality, no view, do not recommend at all"
10/21/13 Indian_Worldviewer Mumbai (Bombay), India
If I had the option of ranking this hotel zero, I would. The owner had a (long) list of rules and pretty much reminded us of a hostel warden. The staff was really rude and arrogant. The room was strictly OK and offered *no* view. The food was strictly OK, too. The hotel is located away from everything. We met with some other guests, who were fed up with the owner's attitude, too. We stayed the previous night in Central Continental, which offered us a much better view and room, even if it wasn't a chalet. I get the feeling that the owner was a bit racist, which is very silly of him, considering so many of his own and his country's guests - therefore, their income - comes from Indians!
