Wonderful, attentive young couple running a B & B with the evening meal option in a true French Dordogne country-side environment. Would stay again in a nano-second. James and Jennifer are to be commended for their attempts to retain the environment and essence of the atmosphere of this particular countryside. They provided day trip suggestions, local insights and most of all their time to respectfully talk (English) to us. Our thanks to them for a memorable three-day visit with them. Truly a highlight of our time in France.

I was looking for a hotel in Souillac, and this hotel came up as nearby. I had not taken the time to look at the area or do any reading--this was a spur of the moment trip. The hotel location is amazing, right on the side of the hill outside Rocamadour. The location is amazingly beautiful. In terms of visiting the cave paintings, canoeing in the Dordogne, it's a little bit of a drive. But, we were not in a hurry and really enjoyed traveling through the countryside. The room was simple, but all we needed. The bed was a little hard, and that's why I give it a 3 for comfort. But, I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a reasonable rate, a beautiful location, wonderful hosts at the hotel and this general location.

A couple of problems completely ruined our stay. Firstly, the air conditioning was ridiculously noisy, my friend and I were both woken up many times throughout the night because of this. Also, we were very annoyed to be woken up by housekeeping thundering on our door and shouting at us to 'dégage!' at about 9 o'clock on the sunday morning! Checkout […] wasn't until midday, and we hadn't been given any 'do not disturb' hangers for the door, suffice it to say we were not at all impressed. What absolutely appalling service - if I pay to stay in your hotel until 12, I don't expect to be woken up 3 hours early. The staff need to learn the meaning of customer service. Read more
