"Relaxing and Comfortable Hotel"
Villa Kerasy is a delight. Clean, comfortable and quiet with parking. Near to all that we wanted to experience. Restaurants were excellent as recommended. Breakfast was good, continental style and value for money. There is plenty to see in Vannes and nearby, so a good location for exploring Western Brittany.

"Extremely attentative and helpful staff"
We could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel nor the service provided. The Staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. The spa was excellent. The Hotel is located across from the main rail station but there is no intrusive noise whatsoever. It is a short 3 minute walk to the main area for restaurants, which are very varied, ranging from gourmet, through typical French family eateries and creperies to Vietnamese, North African and even Afghani.

TOP

"Heavenly haven in the city"
11/03/15 tangerinetony Ojai, California
This was our last night of an October trip to Brittany before taking the train back to Paris. Not only was this peaceful boutique hotel with an Asian and sub-continent decor convenient to the train and to turning in our rental car, the owners went out of their way to making sure our visit was a restful and pleasant experience. Our room on ground level was perfect with a spacious bathroom and shower and had a sliding door to a small deck with chairs and a nearby koi pond. Jean-Jaques recommended a fabulous restaurant nearby where you can figuratively 'lose your head in the clouds' of good aromas of food and vine, and he served us an all-fresh breakfast with homemade jams and juices to send us on our way. First-rate in every way!

"Villa Kerasy a Delight"

My wife and I stayed at this inn during May and June 2015. The inn is located on a side street only 5-10 minutes walk from the train station. The inn is very quiet as the rooms are set well back from the street. Our room was large in size and very comfortable. The king-size bed was firm. The owners are very attentive and made sure we were very comfortable and well looked after. They provided good information about the area and things to do, places to eat, etc. Breakfast is served in a dining room on the first floor. One can order traditional fare off the menu or select a more exotic breakfast complete with lentils and food items more in line with the spa theme of the hotel. If we were to return to Vannes, we would not hesitate to stay again at Villa Kerasy.

"Peaceful heaven"

We just came back from Brittany, where we spent a wonderful week as a family. We were recommended villa Kerasy in Vannes and were not disappointed! The room in which we slept was spacious & very clean. You can tell the precision to detail and care taken by the proprietors in order to transport you to another realm. Everything was in harmony with nature. The garden with it's pond is very peaceful & well maintained. The scent of incense pleasantly lingered throughout the rooms. One diner we tried was the fish Mollee curry. It was divine and cooked by the owner himself (who is a very fine chef too!). The best thing for me was the spa where I spent over an hour with my elderly mother. Being in the hands of an expert. We truly relaxed & felt special. Over all the team was very welcoming, easy to talk to & went out of their way to please us.

"Maintains a high and welcoming standard."

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years, indeed one of the attractions of Vannes to us is this hotel. It is extremely well situation in that it is easy to drive to, but still conveniently close to walk to the centre of Vannes. Has maintain its high standards and service through the years. We look forward to a return visit next year.

"Did not meet expectations"

We just returned from a trip to Brittany. We stayed in Villa Kerasy 4 nights. We were a family 9 people in 4 rooms and we booked the rooms about 5 months in advance. We found the staff to be very unfriendly and unhelpful. The rooms were clean, but the entire hotel smelled like incense and the rooms temperature was too warm at night. Two of our rooms had two adults and a child. One room was large enough to add the extra bed, the other room was too small to comfortably add another bed in the room. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Vannes center. The first night we were there, we had asked for restaurant recommendations. The owner directed us to street outside of the walled city. He did not properly explain that if we walked a little further there were many more options within the walled city and by the port. Being how far they are from the town they should include breakfast in the price of the room or bring down their prices, so they don't make their guests feel like they are being taken advantage of. When we realized how expensive it was, we asked if there were any other options. The woman working there said you can go to the train station across the street, rather than directing us to restaurants in the town or by the port or to the nearby bakery or cafe. After the first day, we found the local market and bakery. We asked if we could use the tables outside and the woman said "no those are for our guests". We had 4 rooms for 4 nights, I would consider ourselves their guests. One of our days we decided to take a ferry to Belle Ile from Quiberon. We told the owner our plans and he said you should have taken the ferry from Vannes, but our tickets were already booked. So we asked him how much time we should leave for parking and he said an hour. This was incorrect. It took about an hour to drive there and then another hour to find parking. He did not warn us how crowded the town would be and that there would be a lot of beach traffic returning at the end of the day. The morning we were leaving to go to the ferry, one of the staff had parked their car at the bottom of the driveway. It took about 1/2 hour to get the car moved. This delayed us leaving the hotel and we eventually missed our ferry. When we returned we asked the owner why he did not warn us about the traffic and the parking and he said you should have taken the ferry from Vannes. I travel a lot and have never experienced service like this from a small hotel. I was very disappointed in my stay.

"Did not like this hotel"

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. Continental breakfast was overpriced. Staff not particularly friendly. Unusual bathroom arrangement. Toilet one room, sink in another. It is a long walk to the center of town.

"Lovely, relaxing stay"

A lovely hotel and an oasis of calm within the city of Vannes. Our room was lovely, and added to the calming vibe with a bathroom and adjacent private garden. Ate our breakfast in the garden by the koi carp pool. Close to the railway station, and an easy walk into the centre of town. The owner is very helpful and gave us some good tips.

We have enjoined again a very warm welcome from all of the Villa Kerasy team. It is always a little bit as coming home in Vannes. The rooms towards the garden are very calm and silent so that what almost missed our appointmet at the breakfeast.

"Short notice urgent visit"
07/05/15 H. K Wolverhampton, United Kingdom
Little sister - who has lived in France for about 6 years or more had been taken ill and had been in 2 hospitals in the space of one week. A speedy visit was required. Hubby picked Villa Kerasy because it was walking distance from the hospital in Vannes and we were then able to visit regularly and quickly. What a welcome from the host - he was just charming - what a lovely man. He gave me a brief history of the hotel whilst hubby parked the car and showed us up to our room. It was spacious, clean and had all we needed. A bath for me, a shower for hubby, a mini bar, a safe, extra pillows if needed, TV and easy chairs. It is only a very small hotel so they do B & B and it has a very small spa area (No pool) but a delightful garden where you can enjoy breakfast if you wish. Its quite informal and very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay with them. Its the usual very typical French breakfast: bread rolls, or crusty bread with preserves but you can order an egg - boiled, poached or fried and they offer lovely fresh juices, fresh fruit and yogurts. The Hotel is walking distance from some nice restaurants and - if you don't get lost - like we did you can walk right down to the Marina which should take about 20 minutes. We visited Vannes market while we were there and once you put the busy roads behind you - there are some lovely walk ways around the centre and lots to see. A very nice short stay - a wonderful host who was always so very happy to see you and informative and helpful. Thank you Jean-Jacques.

"Friendly and comfortable stay"
06/26/15 Farple Isle of Skye, United Kingdom
There is a very pleasant relaxed and friendly vibe in this hotel and whilst the charming staff go some way to compensating for the rather fading splendour of the surroundings, the hotel is not of luxury grade by any means. The walk into town is not through the most salubrious real estate but it's not far and Vannes is a lovely city - especially the narrow streets that lead to the port. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfasts were excellent but will probably not return if we re-visit Vannes.
