Well located close to Venice train station and easy walking distance to Piazza Santa Margherita, good restaurants. and other attractions. Nothing fancy but meets the basics and the staff was friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great staff, Perfect location!"
This hotel is located in the sweet spot where its not to busy at night, yet an easy walk anywhere you need to go. The rooms are typical of Italian hotels and include a light breakfast each morning. The staff is spectacular and go out of their way to accomodate guests and provide great insight into Venice and little known treasures. Alla Corte Rosa provides […] a great value for your trip to Venice! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Most courteous and helpful host!"
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, in large part due to the evening manager. He helped plan our itinerary for our 2 days of sightseeing and answered all of our questions. He was most kind and spoke in English for us as we do not speak Italian. If I went back to Venice, I would stay here again. No lift, but we were only on the 3rd floor....but […] if you go to Venice, be prepared to do a lot of steps! Very clean, and we walked to several places. The vaporetto (public boat transportation) is easy to get to and use. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to bus station"
5 minutes from bus station. I'd read other reviews that it was hard to find but had no trouble once I'd done a quick google maps check before going. Quite location, but still only a short walk from water bus stop. Comfortable room & unlike other Italian hotels (I've stayed in lots) it had an actual double bed & not just 2 single beds pushed together. […] Aircon & mosquito repellent in the room was a nice touch & bathroom a good size. Considering it was the cheapest option I had looked at I couldn't have been happier and would stay there again.

"Perfect for the price"

I found this impossible to find but when I finally did I got a clean bedroom with a canal view, a friendly welcome and a good night's sleep. All this for EUR 55 in the centre of Venice. It is not exactly the Ritz but ideal for the money.

A little B&B at a perfect location. Only a few bridges from the bus terminal and in a quiet part of old Venice. The breakfast was in my opinion reasonable. We got some good cheese and sausage from a local supermarket to complement it as we are big eaters. The only draw back I can think of is the lack of internet access.
"Perfect small hotel"

I wanted a hotel within walking distance (with luggage) of the railway station. This hotel is 10 to 15 minutes walk from the station; across 5 bridges (at the biggest bridge there are porters who will trolley your luggage across for a fee). Buy or have a map with you as you will need it to find to the hotel. I was in room 101; one level above the street/ canal; with two large windows looking out onto the canal; there is also a small sitting area with two more window and a bathroom. The main rooms were light and have wooden floors. There was very minimal noise from rooms above. From early morning until about 9 pm there is constant boat traffic on the canal; but it is not annoying or intrusive. During the night it is very quiet; only the sound of footsteps of passers-by. The staff at reception (two different gentlemen) are charming and helpful; they also bring breakfast to the room. On arriving at the hotel and opening the shutters (useful to keep out the afternoon sun) and windows and looking down on to the canal i really felt i had arrived in Venice. I highly recommend this hotel.
"Excellent value, in a lovely part of venice!"

The hotel is quite hard to find and the map the hotel provide isnt the best! However, once we found the hotel we were very impressed, we had a room on the top floor which had lovely views over a little canal. The idea of breakfast in bed is nice, but dont expect a big breakfast, more like a morning snack. It is a short walk away from the main square in Dorsudoro with lots of non-touristy wine bars. The owner is more than happy to provide advice on where to go. Overall a great little b&b, great value and if we were to return to Venice we would definitely stay here again!

Hotel is in a great location in Dorsoduro, within walking distance to almost everything. We had a lovely, very clean, spacious room on the 3rd floor, perfect for our 5 night stay. FYI, there was no elevator but this did not bother us. The views alone would make up for it anyway. The staff were extremely nice and pleasant. The owner was very helpful with advice & suggestions on where to go, eat etc. and told many stories the guidebooks wouldn't have. He knows the history of his city so well. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Let me start by saying that this was a lovely little hotel along a beautiful canal. However, it was very hard to find! It was well worth it, though, once we found it. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bathroom clean. And the view from our room was gorgeous! You let the staff know the day before when you would like breakfast, and they're very prompt. The breakfast was simple but delicious and fresh with bread rolls and cheese, butter, jam, yogurt, coffee, and juice (you can choose what you'd like). It's within walking distance to the Rialto bridge and the Grand Canal to get to the more touristy part of Venice, although the quieter neighborhood on the hotel's side of the Grand Canal is lovely to walk through and is worth spending some time in. There is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage… well, you'll just have to deal with a couple of flights of stairs (it wasn't too bad, except we were already exhausted and hot from trying to find the hotel). My only complaint is that the boats passing along the canal outside the window start honking their horns early in the morning, which isn't the hotel's fault (it's at an intersection, so they honk to let other boats know they're coming), so it gets a little noisy. Otherwise, it's pretty quiet at night.
The hotel is in a lovely location, convenient for all of the various districts and sights. The rooms are clean and bright with a stunning view over one of the many canals, so although the breakfast isn't overly thrilling, the view as you eat is very pleasant. The highlight is the welcome and advice provided by the elder gentleman owner, who will offer good advice on visits and suggest routes and such like to help make the most of your stay. One of the few bargains in venice!
"Best part of our trip"

We stayed here in May 2013 and we feel we couldn't have picked a better bed & breakfast-hotel for this season. It's located in one of the quieter districts with walking distance to most of the attractions Venice has to offer. Firstly, you don't need to get on a boat to get here from the bus station. With carry-on luggage we were at the site after 10 mins of walking. Secondly, we paid around 100 euros per night which was a very good price for a close to on-sight location that was booked less than two months in advance . After our first day in the tourist centre it was a delight getting back to this quiet and idyllic area for some rest. The hosts were nice, funny and very helpful.

1. No elevator. 2. No air conditioning in April (2013) (apparently by law?). 3. Mosquitoes. 4. Tub/shower, but no shower curtain. 5. No Internet. This is a basic bed & breakfast in Venice. From the train station it's a short 20 minute walk, but it's 4 bridges to cross, so don't bring a large suitcase. Water taxi from/to train station is 40 Euros (April 2013). Would probably give them a 2 rating, but the help is very nice. Is located within walking distance of the main attractions on Venice Island, but pretty much everything is. While this place is "quaint" and really gives one a flavor of Italy, personally, IMHO, I think it's about time for many of these places to move up to the 20th Century providing lift/elevator service, air conditioning or at least screens on the window to keep the mosquitoes out of the room on cooler nights when keeping the windows open, and wifi. The room was clean and comfortable, except for no a/c and the mosquitoes, and the lack of shower curtain.

My girlfriend and I (22 year olds) stayed here at the beginning of March for 4 nights and it did not disappoint. We opted for this hotel as it is located in one of the quieter districts of Venice, home to the University and from our experience a lot of Venetians. We thought it would be too easy to base ourselves right amongst the tourist hotspots and so deliberately chose this hotel on the basis that overall we would see a lot more travelling toward those places. We definitely did. The hotel is good value for people of our age and excellently located if you intend to really explore. It is a five minute walk to Piazza Roma where you can either easily get back to the mainland and take an excursion to Verona etc, or to get the local boat taxis on the Canal Grande which will take you anywhere more of less. The hosts are brilliant and really sold the hotel to us on arrival. The older guy Paulo? (apologies I forget his name) seems to take it upon himself to act as your own personal tour guide, without ever being pushy, and did more than answer any questions we had. He has a brilliant knowledge of Venice and can point you in the direction of superb sights that might not be covered in a guide. Overall a fantastic experience and would highly recommend to anyone!
