"An authentic Venetian experience"
Staying at At Home A Palazzo was like visiting the Italian aunt I never had; our host and hostess were charming, with very good English skills. Staying in the third floor of a 14th century palazzo, with the sound of water lapping at the first floor entrance and an incredible view of Venice outside the window was a great experience. We had two bedrooms […] and a private bathroom for our family of four, and the rooms were spacious and nicely furnished. The common room was huge, with views of the lagoon, and more lovely furnishings. Breakfast was incredible; be sure to try the homemade yogurt! Everything was very clean. Our bed was quite firm. The only negatives were climbing the stairs with luggage (what a workout!) and our shower was starting to wear out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A greatly-overpriced address !"
well, first we were surprised to see we were accommodated by a family because the place is advertised as a hotel ! Rosa is a nice person but she does not accept credit cards (where is it written on the Expedia site ?), so when you have to take 1075 EUR (for 5 nights), it is a problem ! None of the alternatives (bank transfer or paypal) was possible […] for us. ANYWAY that was a real bad surprise. The room was not heated and it was cold (April 20/21), the shower is weak and hot water comes after a good 8-10 minutes. The 3rd bed for our son was priced with an extra 30 EUR so the real price was 185 + 30 = 215 EUR ! We paid the first 2 nights in cash and had no trouble to find a hotel room at 160 EUR that was cosy and warm (and they took Visa Card), so a saving of 55 EUR for each of the 3 remaining nights (165 EUR saving). "Familienbesuch in Venedig"
Sehr empfehlenswert! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Ottima location dove poter soggiornare a Venezia"
Sono stato in questo B&B con amici. Ottima accoglienza da parte della "padrona di casa" che ci ha fatto sentire veramente come fossimo a casa nostra. Appartamento stupendo e camere pulitissime. Lo consiglio assolutamente.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A wonderful experience"
At Home a Palazzo is a wonderful place -- it's the top floor of a very old palazzo, with wonderful views of the Venetian roof tops. Our room, the library, was spacious, beautiful, clean, filled with natural light and a great collection of art and literature books. You are also welcome to use the grand main room of the apartment, which truly is palatial […] and comfortable. Rosa, the owner, is gracious, friendly, helpful. I have already recommended this place to my friends, and will stay here whenever I return to Venice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"At Home in Venice"

Venice is exciting and if done well exhausting. Consequently it was a pleasure to savour at night the serenity and views of Venice from our 3rd floor window (or in Italy our 2nd floor widow). One face of the Palazzo looks down on a small canal while the entrance fronts one of Cannaregio's many small lane/walkways.The Palazzo is the home of Rosa and her family. From the beginning we felt like welcome guests in their home. Especially inviting were the breakfasts which included homemade yogurt. Our room was very comfortable. While the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, this axiom apparently not a concern for Venetian street planners but because straight lines were not part of ou travel plans we were able to cross small bridges and quiet canals to return home in the evening then "At Home a Palazzo" is a place to rest your head.

A charming B&B, very close and convenient to the vaporetto stop from both train station and airport. There are a couple of very good restaurants close-by that are well known by locals and not overrun by tourists. Hosts Rosa and Pauolo are very sweet and helpful. I must admit that after seeing the photos online of the property I was expecting it to be a bit old and tired looking - however this is not the case. Rosa has a beautiful and welcoming home and we felt very lucky to be able to share her home for a few days - this is a true B&B. Of note - payment is by cash only - they are a very small family run business so do not have credit card facilities. We would stay here again.

I am not sure how we found this palazzo, called "athomeapalazzo" but it is a gem. We travelled in Italy for ten days, staying in expensive suites every night but our room in this fourteenth century palace, now a private home, was the best accomodation we had at a fraction of the usual prices we paid. It is beautifuly furnished, well located near a vaporetto stop, and a welcome change for people who have been staying in hotels. There are only two or three rooms for rent which share a luxurious lobby area of about 1200 square feet where we enjoyed our breakfasts in the sun. The only deficiencies that I need mention are the lack of an elevator and rather low water pressure in the shower. If you might get tired climbing stairs to the third floor (ceilings are about 16 feet high), think twice about staying here. With so few rooms and moderate rates the only reason you might be able to find a vacancy here is that it seems hard to book a room unless you stumble across the selfnamed web site or can fax or telephone them directly. To inquire call Rosa who can be contacted throught the self-named website..If you can get in, get exact directions to the door as although it is only five minutes from the No.1 vaporetto stop, there are numerous lanes and no signage on the palazzo!

Ambiente molto elegante, grande ospitalità e cortesia.
