"Small but reasonable hotel"
We stayed here for a long weekend trip. The location is good for access to museums and parks. Metro is nearby (5 minute walk). Our room was one of the renovated ones and was small, but comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel or spend a lot of non sleeping time there. There was nothing special about the hotel, but no real negatives either. We would […] probably stay here again, but would prefer to try other parts of the city next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you have a choice get a renovated room"
There is a high difference in a room that has been renovated or not like air conditioning. It was very stuffy in our room and with window open all night very noisy. The room we had needed updating badly so although the room was clean it didn't feel clean due to condition of paint, carpent and bathroom fixtures.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location. Ok room."
The location of the hotel is very nice. Very close to Louvre and a few minutes walk from Pyramides metro station. However, my bathroom had several tiles missing and the room felt hot even with the window open as there is no air conditioning.Genuine Expedia guest review
Will be disappointed if you stay in one of the NON renovated room, We stayed one of out 7 nights in there. Otherwise satisfactory.Obviously Paris is expensive even compared/relative to excellent hotels in New York city or Beverley Hill.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel leaves little to be desired. The location is very good, however, the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hôtel Louvre Richelieu Sorry that you did not appreciated the standard room, not renovated yet. For some euros more, you could have chosen the 'comfort room' which are very well equiped (TV, air conditionning, rain-shower, ...). We recommend you to check them for your next stay in Paris Best regards

"Very central location!"
The best thing about the hotel is its central location, close to many of the famous sights as the Louvre, Tuileries, Notre Dame etc. Anonymous entrance at a busy street. Reception upstairs. No lift. Free wifi that works well. Ok service. The central location is the best, the traffic noise, the worst.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Paris experience"

Firstly, it's always a gamble to check into a hotel that is totally new to you. The decision for me to choose this hotel is mainly due to it's location. Well, it turned out to be a very good decision and Paris visit is even sweeter for first timer like me and family, The hotel is newly renovated, the guy at the reception is excellent, speak English and very helpful. He placed us on the 4th floor and as we all know, there is no elevator. Looking at the staircase which is narrow and I'm horrified by looking at our luggages. We made our way up by negotiating 73 steps! To our surprise, the gentleman at the reception actually helped us with one big bag and clearly out of his breath. It was a great gesture and very helpful of him. The location is superb, near the subway and the La Fayette shopping mall. Making our way to most of the main tourist spots are easy as subway system are the same in most of major cities. Restaurants and convenient stores are at the door stop and most importantly the quality of the food is surprisingly good. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and price wise ... It's so so only.
"Basic two star with nice bedroom, excellent location but lots of stairs."
11/02/14 John C London, United Kingdom
A work colleague and I stayed in two rooms for one night, having selected the hotel because of its proximity to our business meeting. Location, on a quiet street with easy access to the Rue de Rivoli one way and the Opera area the other, is excellent. Entrance to the hotel up steep stairs and the reception area caused us some dismay but the reception staff were friendly and our rooms, once we clambered up to the fourth floor, were very pleasant with decent beds and better shower facilities than I've found in three star hotels in Paris. We did not take breakfast but saw the croissants being brought in from the local boulangerie so I'm sure it would have been fine but 'no frills'. Overall, a good solution for a short trip providing you don't mind the stairs (no lift).
"Good place for short trip to Paris"

3 adults stayed in one of the standard triple rooms for 3 nights stay in Paris. Room was clean and not too small. Sheets and towels all fresh and nice to use. Staff all spoke English and were pleasant to deal with. Hotel is in a good location for sightseeing and we all felt safe. Would stay again if visiting Paris.

Ok, where should i start.... Overall i'd say the hotel is very ok to stay for a weekend or a short trip in this great city. The position of this hotel is actually perfect as you are very close to al the hot spots and also some metro stations. The staff is friendly and helpful. They will answer every question relating your stay in Paris. But the appearance of the hotel and the (older) rooms leaves to be desired.... We've booked our stay via a famous booking page here on the internet. And now comes the confusing part; we didn't have the option to choose between different room types, at least i can't remember or rather it was not clear or obvious. The pictures on the booking site as well as on the official homepage of the hotel look very great and modern. But as we arrived in the hotel and got our room, we were kind of shocked. Because the room was definitely not a quarter as good as on the pics. It was old and a bit in a bad state. There were only two plug sockets in the whole room, the tap in the bathroom didn't work properly. At least, the room was tidy! So i'd say that is the most important point. One day we came to the breakfast and got a flaky milk which is a sign to be already old or bad. But ok, this can happen and the staff apologized for that.

Very decent and clean place near to Louvre . Staff are friendly and helpful. Great place for family stay and convenient place to explore Paris . Many restaurants near the hotel . I would love to stay again in this hotel and recommended to friends .

Central, secure, clean, soundproof, good heating/cooling. Perfect central base to explore the sights and sounds of Paris. Staff friendly and helpful. Built in the 1500s, so be prepared for stairs (no lifts), but staff happy to help you with your bags if you ask. Staff speak English to varying degrees, but all have enough to get by (as we had hardly any French)! Late night convenience stores a few steps away, including fantastic fruit and beautiful flowers. A few minutes walk to the Louvre and Palais Royal. Our only complaint was the rules: no laundry or eating/drinking in the room. This should be stated up front on the website. Great place for a short stay, but not so great if you're hoping to wash your socks in your room or save money by buying some takeaway breakfast. But hey- this is Paris, and who wants to eat in when you can buy croissants and coffee and go sit in the Palais Royal gardens instead!
"Worst hotel i have ever encounter"
05/25/14 TomMark2014 Singapore, Singapore
Door is not secure with only a push button lock. Comes equip with faulty lights and dripping shower. Room condition is not even worthy of a single star. Main corridor light can be off by anybody while you are climbing the narrow and steep stairs.
"Not worth it, would look elsewhere next time"
04/02/14 Laura K New York City, New York
The hotel started out promising, but went downhill over our 5 day stay. There are very narrow winding stairs to get up to the rooms. The room itself seemed good but the showers were really awkward and splashed water into the bathroom. I think security wise at night it could also feel safer. After midnight there is no one in the front desk and the access into the hotel is just swiping your room key. Service overall was quite poor. The people working at the front desk were not very friendly at all. They did not change our sheets during our stay, which is okay for being sustainable, however when we asked for it to be changed after the third night they seemed very begrudging. There was also some days where we came back and there was no toilet paper in the bathroom or soap. Also, note that the hotel runs out of hot water if you shower too late or have roommates/other people staying with you. Even though this is a convenient area, I would look elsewhere for better value next time. Overall it was a very mediocre stay and I think there is better around the area.
"Fabulous flying visit - perfect location"

I was in Paris for one night only and this hotel really could not have been better. I came across it purely by chance whilst browsing hotels and I will definitely be back. The location is fantastic as a base and an ideal starting point for this beautiful city, particularly if you enjoy walking as much I do! My room on the top floor was one of the newly renovated ones and stylish, well appointed and I think extremely good value. Spotlessly clean, crisp linen and comfy bed and pillows. The shower was amazingly good & the toiletries provided were glorious! The gentleman on the front desk was wonderfully helpful and friendly and very patient with my bad French and I very much appreciated the chat and the ice for my sprained ankle! Don't let the stairs put you off, it's all part of the charm of Paris.
"A Lovely Weekend"
02/26/14 SusieB47 Canterbury, United Kingdom
As the hotel we normally stay in has had an upgrade I decided to find somewhere less expensive in the same area, after a lot of reseach I found Louvre Richelieu, although we could have booked a 4 star for the same price through Eurostar I just really liked the look of it and the location. We were not disappointed, the room as others have said was small but had everything you needed, the bed was very comfortable with lovely pillows and the bathroom with rain shower was fabulous. We overlooked the street which although quite narrow is fairly busy with cars but being on the 4th floor it was not a problem. I had read there was no lift so we travelled fairly light. The Receptionists were very friendly and helpful, there was a lovely bakery a couple of doors along and two general stores just across the road. Although we did not eat in the immediate vicinity the restaurants all looked lovely, with many people queuing on Friday night to gets tables, the area had a really nice buzz to it and it is so close to everywhere, the Palais Royal is literally two minutes away, a real little gem, I cannot wait to go back.
