Our stay was short but very pleasant. We arrived via car from Milan, and our GPS could not locate the hotel. Signage is one sided, and if you arrive from the "wrong" direction, it is easy to miss in the dark. Recommended highly -- just be sure to double check directions.

The only problem was the noise from neighbor rooms, the ceiling of the hotel is not very well insulated, you can hear everything and room 18 is smaller than the others, LOL

We were looking for a hotel near Verona, a little further out that would be cheaper. Instead, we found Hotel Scalzi which was just a 3-minute walk to the city centre (literally- VERY close). Die Zimmer wurden erst kürzlich sehr geschmackvoll renoviert. Bei schönem Wetter kann im Freien in einem kleinen Innenhof gefrühstückt werden. Das Hotel ist gut gelegen, in der Nähe der Arena, der Altstadt aber auch des Bahnhofs. Der Service war sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Finding a reasonably priced room for two adults and a teenager on opera nights in Verona was a daunting task, even though I was scanning prices a month ahead. Scalzi was the least expensive within the center of the city. To be honest, the hotel is not in the true center of the city, but a walk of less than ten minutes takes you to the Arena.
