Checked in at 12.30am; checked out at 7.30am. So just slept, showered and had a light breakfast. Served its purpose so happy enough.Genuine Expedia guest review
Rymligt, smakfullt renoverat och rent rum. De gemensamma utrymmena såg äldre ut. Frukosten var tråkig trots att det var en buffé. Ligger centralt och bra.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, clean but soul free"
Extremely convenient for an overnight stay. Only downside was a not very vibrant neighborhood. Food great, service great, people great. Recommended!
"Ideally located and comfortable"

It cant get more central than this, just a few minutes from Banhofstrasse, the station and the lake. The rooms are comfortable but many of rooms have bathrooms with see-through glass panels - some completely so, others with a strip opening into the rooms, so it is best to check.

The food and service in the bar was exceptional. We were able to walking to just about everything in the downtown and old town. Close to train station, shopping, restaurants, casino and the lake. Take the walk up the bell tower in the old Cathedral for best view of Zurich

My husband and I stayed at the Glockenhof for two nights in October 2014. We had booked a standard room, which was ok, but kind of "smallish". When we entered the room, we were surprised by a beautiful heart made of rose petals (not natural, of course) decorating the double bed. I don't know if this was because I had told the hotel it was our wedding anniversary, but it was a very nice touch. The room was complete and modern, including Nespresso machine, sofa, coffee-table, reading lamp (they came in the way, however, with our two big bags). Comfortable bathroom, good shower and fluffy towels. No bathrobe and slippers. Our corner-room windows faced a quiet patio, so we had mostly two silent nights (except for the noise of the maid cleaning the opposite room with the door open at 7 am...). This hotel offers easy, no-password access to internet. This is a real plus, compared with other places where you can connect only one or two devices, with complicated passwords. Reception staff was awfully kind, attentive, and patient with my rough German. We were offered a welcome drink at the bar, which came handy after a long trip from Argentina. Buffet breakfast offered good food variety and quality. We didn't try the restaurant, which is open at night. Location is great - one block from famous Banhofstrasse, and walking distance to Hauptbanhof (train station), (5 blocks aprox., we walked along paved sidewalks with luggage to catch a train to Geneva). Airport ride with a taxi is about 20 min and costs about CHF 50. Zurich is easily visited on foot, in a couple of days. Remember that all stores are closed on Sundays, even department stores like Jemoli or Globus. Day trip to Lucerne is a beautiful and easy option from the train station if you want to avoid Sunday in Zurich. If you like nature in the city, don't miss the Old Botanical Garden, a couple of blocks away from the hotel. Overall, we had a very nice stay and will consider going back to the Glockenhof if ever again in Zurich.
"BEST HOTEL IN TOWN"

I am familiar with the Glockenhof for many years. It is our preferred place to stay for myself and all my family when we come to Zurich. You feel very safe in the hotel besides her location is the best in Zurich it is a walking distance from anywhere you wish to go (trams,Railway station, Restaurants, Shopping, Parade Platz, Lake Zurich et.etc. All personnel are well informed, helpful and courteous. Not to forget to mention about the excellent daily buffet breakfast and the wonderful service rendered by all staff. It was quite easy and prompt to have free connection to Wi-Fi and internet.
"Great location, staff & Breakfast"

Greeted at the airport by the hotel staff, this hotel me all of our needs while in Zurich, a short walk to the train station and to the Old Town area. The breakfast included was vast and hearty. they truly want to assist the visitors. The bed was comfy and ample bath amenities, and large bath towels are a plus. Nice view from the room (305) two large windows overlooking the curved intersection.

As a woman traveling alone, I felt very safe in this hotel. The location near the railroad station made it easy to travel anywhere! Trams and taxis were also easily accessible. The hotel itself is very comfortable, and the staff is well informed and courteous.
We found the hotel to be quite good, we had a standard double room on the eighth floor, which was a fairly basic room, but comfortable. We had trouble with the internet, not being able to receive a Wi-Fi connection a lot of the time ( when enquiring at reception we were told we should be able to receive good Wi-Fi and they would send someone up to assist with this, but no one ever arrived.) When finally connecting to internet it was weak and kept dropping out, very frustrating and in the end we just gave up. On the whole we found the staff to be very professional, the breakfast was fine, location was great, central to most things, only a short walk to the Old City.
"Better 2nd time round"

This was a second visit to the hotel a year and a half later. The location is good. The service is crisp and professional with helpful staff. A standard room on the 2nd floor was fine. The bathrooms are smallish but sufficient and the rooms on the whole look a bit bare in terms of the style and quantity of furnishing but if you are in town for a few days its more than ok. The beds are fine and the small chocolates on the bedside table at night are a nice touch - as are the free apples and sucking sweets. The internet service in the rooms is a bit weak and could do with boosting. Downstairs in the lobby/bar area it seems stronger. Have to mention Kevin in the bar/restaurant area. He is one of the most friendly and helpful hotel professionals I have come across and provides service with a smile and is always ready to have a short chat with his customers - a pleasure to deal with. Best Western seems to be an honest brand that goes for consistency in its presentation to its customers.
"Way too short stay"

I had a great stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, only for one night. I'd have loved to stay longer. The bed was super comfortable, the room (a double room) really big and modern in a century old building. I really liked the contrast of the inside and outside. The bathroom was also really big, it had a huge glass wall on the bathtub,/shower side, which we could close with blinds. If you are travelling as a couple make sure you are either really comforable with eacht other or you have a walled bathroom. The location is great. It is right in the city centre. Close to the main shopping street, close to the old part of town and close to the main train station with a street car also stopping very close by. The famous restaurant/nightclub Kaufleuten is apparently also just opposite the hotel. Free WiFi, great breakfast, lovely garden area which we didn't get to experience due to bad weather. All in all a very very pleasant stay.. just too short..
In the middle of Zürich still very quiet, spacious rooms, well trained and friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. The Hotelbar in the corner is a good place to arrive have a glass of wine (choose from a good selection of local and international wines & spirits) and watch the people outside. A great hotel! My 1. choice when I need to stay in down town Switzerland!
