The Convent Hotel is located on one of the main streets in Amsterdam and within easy walking distance to the Centraal Train station and Dam Square-so public transportation is a snap. The hotel is well kept and the staff is very friently. The one complaint about the staff is that they do not seem very knowledgeable about typical tourist activities in Amsterdam and we didn't find a concierge staff member to help with some of our questions. Our booking through hotels.com did not include the breakfast, which looked wonderful and was expensive, so we found a lovely little care within a block or two from the hotel for our breakfasts. Lots of tours seem to use the hotel, so the staff is very comfortable speaking in English with everyone.The entrance to the hotel faces the very busy street, but the rooms are all in the back of the hotel and are very quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I would suggest trying to get the breakfast included in the hotel price.

The hotel was clean, nice, the staff friendly and helpful, especially the Concierge. The location was great, within walking distance of many restaurants, and things to see in Amsterdam.

The room was very small and a bit tight for friends. It would be nice for a couple. But the room had a cozy private terrace. And the staff was wonderful! The two desk personnel we encountered were helpful, went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed for a great visit and made a point of having what we needed before we knew we needed it. The hotel was clean, the food just right and always a fresh cup of coffee waiting for us. I would return without thinking twice.

"Mistænkeliggørelse og forudbetaling"
Første gang jeg har været på et hotel der har forlangt betaling forud - dvs. ved ankomst. Samtidig var der lidt rod i værelserne - var 3 afsted - med det resultat at den stod på 3.gradsforhør hver gang nøglen skulle afhentes ved hjemkomst - en enkelt gang løb receptionisten hen og spærrede adgangen til elevatoren mens han med anklagende stemme spurgte […] om vi var 2 på værelset - hvilket vi jo var og skulle være - måtte forklare sammenhængen 3 gange på 4 dage :(. Ubehageligt at nøglen forlanges afleveret når man forlader hotellet - men samtidigt bliver udleveret med et smil uden tjek af en ny aftenportier :( Morgenmaden er uimponerende og glimrer med sit fravær af kød - med undtagelse af skinkepålæg. "Super für einen Kurztrip!!"
Das Zimmer war in Ordnung für einen Kurztrip! Einziger Nachteil: Sehr wenig Wasser kommt aus der Dusche.. Rest war zufriedenstellend! 5 Personen hatten gut Platz im Zimmer!!
