"Stay at hotel Diana"
We have just got back from our stay at the Hotel Diana in Pompei having selected this hotel due to its trip advisor rating. The room is rather basic as per previous reviews but is tidy and clean and the bathroom is plenty big enough for two. The hotel is located about a 10 minute walk to the ruins and the main street of restaurants. I have given this […] 3 out of 5 as the walls in the rooms are incredibly thin and for us this meant being kept awake by our neighbour's screaming child all through the night. Also I felt that the breakfast selection could have been better as it just consisted of a few croissants and as there were so few you felt you could only take 1, some cornflakes, a few slices of ham & cheese, few slices of cake and some very un-appealing fruit. The hotel staff are all very helpful though and speak good English. Overall this is a good hotel Im just not sure its anything exceptional. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Brilliant stay, the hotel was perfect, and the staff and level of service amazing.Special thanks to Giuseppe, Nadia and Carla who were all so very helpful, before and during our stay although all the staff worked exceptionally hard and all were very polite and friendly. The hotel booked our airport transfers and saved us around 40 euros each way, The […] location of the hotel is perfect for seeing Pompei ruins, Herculaneum, Oplontis, Paestum, and Sorrento. It as a very pleasent place to stay, service and assistance from staff was excellent, centrally located to shops, cafes and sightseeing. The hotel had a small resturant but there were larger resurats close by.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very close to pompeii ruins about less than 10 min walk, and from the railway station about less than 2 min walk. Staff all were very helpful and made my stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Hotel Diana, Pompei, Italy"
Situated 2 minutes walk from the centre of town in a small quiet side road. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was fairly small, the bed was a bit hard and the TV was on a wall above the wardrobe which was rather unusual making it hard to see but there were no English TV channels anyway which would have been nice as we had a few rainy days during […] our stay. 20 minute walk to the main entrance to the ruins but they are a must see with Vesusvius ever present in the background. Many tours available to Vesuvius but don't go if there is a cloud covering the top as you won't see a thing which happened to us and was disappointing. It was clear on the day we left but you can't control the weather! Continental breakfast but it was eat as much as you like with freshly made coffee on request. Recommend the restaurant at the end of the hotel side road probably the best in town with excellent food and good service at a reasonable price.

"Flott hotell i Pompeii!"
15 minutes walk to the entrance. In the centre but in a quiet deadend street. The hotel is brandnew and really comfortable. "Great 3 star hotel near 2 or 3 good restaurants. "

We stayed here to visit Pompei ruins, although this time of year work was being done and a lot was closed. The weather was surprisingly good and we can recomend a trip ro Sorento by train as well as a boat trip to Capri. We also climbed Vesuvious, this is quite a trek and a reasonable level of fitness required. Hotel Diana made us very welcome.
"Very Friendly and Helpful Staff really make this place a gem!"

If you're going here in the near future please don't be put off by the confusing leaflets they send you about getting there by rail. I was very confused and upon entering Naples was even more confused. As I write this (Feb 2015), the train station nearest to the Hotel is closed. This line is run by Trenitalia. Who knows when it will be open again? The second nearest station is located nearest the rather large imposing church building in the new town/city close to the ruins. It's called Pompeii Sanctuario. This station can only be arrived at by taking trains to Poggiomarino from Naples on the Circumvesuviana line the floor underneath the main Naples railway station. When descending into what seems like the station that time forgot, 70s graffiti-strewn units ply their trade on this route run by a company called EAV. A ticket from Naples Garibaldi to Pompeii costs the amazing sum of 2.60 Euros. It's certainly true that this line requires some investment to bring it into the 21st century. Trains heading for Sorrento stop at a different station about 2 km away from the hotel (pompeii scavi), so be warned, When arriving at the correct pompei stop pass the church, cross the Piazza into its centre and follow the smallish road that has the Bank of Naples on its right and the Post Office on your left a little further down. Keep going down this road, passing a pub called the British on your right, then turn right and the hotel should be in front of you. Rooms are failry small and basic (yet adequate), but the real selling point of this hotel is its staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. But I must single out Denise (who's mother is English) and Sonia (daughter of the owners) who went more than the extra mile for us. I am incredibly indebted to them both for their kindness. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting amazing value for money.
"Great 3 Star Property"

I stayed at Hotel Diana for a night in November. It was my last night in Italy and I squeezed it into my trip as Pompeii has always held a fascination for me. I was using public transportation and wanted a hotel close to the train station. When I realized where the hotel was I couldn't have been happier. As you exit the train station in Pompeii cross the street and walk half a block toward the church. It's a massive structure and will be in clear view in front of you. Turn LEFT at the first street and the hotel is in the middle of the block on your right. Without exaggeration if you've walked more than 100 meters you've passed it! Once at the hotel the desk staff spoke fluent English. In fact, one of the receptionists really surprised me as she greeted me with an English accent. It turned out that her mother is from England. She really was a sweetheart. She wrote down directions for me to the ruins and called and organized a car to transport me from the hotel to the airport in Naples when I left. She told me exactly what the fare would be and when I asked her if the driver knew that she answered, yes I have already spoken to him for you. As I had prepaid my room they were expecting me. They had my receipt already printed and there were no surprises. (just the way I like it!) There is an elevator up to your room and a pleasant courtyard with tables and trees in the back. The room had a double bed with separate bathroom and shower. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. In the morning there was a buffet style breakfast included in the room price. It is served in a dining room that was clean and well staffed. The food was a typical European style breakfast of juice, coffee, fruit, cold cuts, sweetbread and rolls. The hotel is located about a 15 - 20 minute walk from the ruins, that's front door to front door. If you're traveling with small children I'd recommend a taxi. I am 65 and healthy and had no problem walking both ways. If you're returning after check out time or wish to continue sight seeing after you've checked out, the hotel will store your luggage in a secure room, free of charge until you return. All in all this is an excellent choice for a 3 star property but once again it was the friendliness of the staff that made a nice property into a really nice memory!
"Good Economical Choice"

This hotel was situated a little farther from the ruins. The nearer Circumvesuviana station is the Pompei-Santuario stop and not the Pompei Scavi-Villa dei Misteri stop. A short walk through the square brought us to Hotel Diana. Some good things going for it are the friendly staff, clean and modern facilities and an adequate and nice breakfast spread. On the other hand, the room we were given felt basic and was a little small for a group of 4. There was the standard double bed, and a bunk-bed which surprised us as we did not expect that but it was ok. There were not enough sockets in the room for a group of 4 people; everyone wanting to charge their devices at the same time. Overall a good value hotel with no frills.

Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and tidy. Breakfast was very nice but maybe there could be more choices of cereals and fruit. Very convenient location for visiting the ruins of Pompei, would definitely use it again.

Stayed at the Diana 2 nights, the walk was confusing from the train, but locals helped us out with directions. The hotel also has a annex, we stayed 1 night in each. It was a hassle to pack up and move, but overall, a great choice if you are visiting the ruins.

"Lovely, clean little hotel for Pompeii"

Modern, clean, friendly staff, close to the train station. It's a great hotel location for getting out to Mount Vesuvius and exploring Pompeii ruins. There are a few restaurants and pizzerias close by to feed you and the hotel common area seems a like hostel like, but that adds to it's friendliness
