"Clean hotel 10 mins from Venice's main bus station"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast consisted of eggs, cold meat, cereal and fresh baked croissants. This hotel is great value! It is a 10 minute walk from the Mestre bus/train station, next door to a supermarket and close to kebab/pizza restaurants and some pubs. It is very easy to get into central Venice. There is a bus right across the street that comes every 10 mins and takes about 12 mins to get to the main bus station in Venice. It costs a little over a euro one way and you can get the ticket at the reception (along with vaporetta tickets). Keep in mind though that st.mark's square is about a 35 min walk from Piazalle Roma ( the bus station). Unless you want to lug your bags through the narrow, busy streets and (many) staircases of Venice and pay a fortune for a dump, I would recommend staying in the Mestre area and this hotel was great value for the money.

We stayed 1 night only and were very happy with the hotel. Dont forget to get you key from Hotel Luca as the Casa Dolce has no reception. The feeling of the hotel is as you were resident of Venice. We highly recommend it.

"Unfortunate experience."
This is a very simple hotel, more like a hostel. My room was old and sparsely furnished. The shower water was lukewarm. I was told breakfast was 8 to 10 and when I went down at 07:56, I was told it was not before 8:30. The waitress was very rude and angry. Her behavior and language was abusive. When I decided to leave and asked for my passport, I was […] asked to pay for the room. I had already done so on Hotels.com, but the waitress claimed the charge had not been debited. This is the first time this has happened to me and I still need to verify with my bank that I have not been charged twice. I will never set foot in this place again. Read more

A two star hotel on the Murano island. Was worth of the two stars. Very friendly service. We even got breakfast when we left very early before the actual breakfast time. There´s no 24 hours front desk service though. Very quiet location on the beautiful island of Murano. Easy to reach from Venice: vaporettos operate often. Rooms are a little shabby […] and old, but airconditioned. Read more
