"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This little hotel has location, location, location! It is less than 5-10 minutes walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, & Tempolo Adriano. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Coliseum, the Forum, and Vittoria Emmanuelle, around 25-30 minutes from Piazza del Popolo, and a half hour from the Vatican. Seconds away from the main artery Via Del Corso, you can’t get a better location for a more reasonable price. The front desk staff is wonderful and Tomosso in particular will not hesitate to recommend the best restaurants and tell you how to get to all the sites within Rome. He recommended fabulous restaurants and mapped out a walkable itinerary of sites daily for us. If you don’t care to walk, the hop on hop off bus is two minutes away. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5th floor outside deck with a panoramic view which is used for breakfast in the morning and a possible night cap at night. What a way to start and end a day. It was beyond gorgeous and really a delightful highlight to a memorable stay in Rome. The rooms are big enough to accommodate two easily and are clean and neat. The only difficulty I encountered was that I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi but instead used the downstairs computer. Some of the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by a short stairway which is difficult with heavy luggage. Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Excellent, convenience to airport was essential.

We did not get information that payment by card was not accepted. The breakfast was poor, bread from yesterday, cerials too sweet. The juice was more like lemonade than fruit-juice.
"Would stay there again"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Had a great experience. Our triple room was clean and bed very comfortable, including pillows. 40 inch hd tv with all the sky channels with the options to switch to English language. Filled a form with time and choices for breakfast . Arrived on time and plenty of food. ( Italian style breakfast) . Front desk nice and helpful. Near American embassy, hard rock cafe' , villa borghese park( very nice!) . Would stay there again and reccomand it to friends and family

Room was so small that we could barely walk around the bed and there were no drawers in which to put clothes. The buffet breakfast, however, was outstanding and the location very convenient. Front desk staff could be friendlier. The room was much smaller than the photo for that level of accommodation

"A great family hotel"
Marco was extremely helpful from a phone call two days earlier when I tried to book an extra night. It wasn't available, but he tried to find me a room by calling four other hotels...WOW! When we arrived in Rome on the 10th, we dropped off our bags and were offered continental breakfast. My father was thrilled to have real butter after being in a villa […] in Tuscany with only olive oil for a week. Afterwards, with the help of a map and highlighted areas were off to explore Bioparco (a zoo my 5 year old couldn't wait to see). We checked in around 2pm and were happy with the comforts of our room. The only thing that would have been better was colder AC since it was about 98 degrees in Rome. After catching the double decker bus (again with Marco's help) and touring the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps (easily within walking distance), we returned to freshen up for dinner. Marco told us of a great family restaurant merely two blocks away - San Marco. Excellent food and terrific prices. The next day, our wake up call came on time, plus our bags were carried down for us. We even had a mini-van taxi take us to the airport since there were four of us and lots of bags. Marco called a friend's service - who was equally friendly. I"ve been to Rome three times now and can honestly say this was the best service I've ever received. It's family run hotel a block away from Via Veneto and walking distance to several key sites. I would gladly stay here again!!! Read more
"The Golden Hotel"
in Rome provided us with a lovely welcome. Delicious breakfast was provided every morning, tasty pastries to get you on your way for the day. My husband and 2 teenage children enjoyed this every morning. One little snag, it was quite a walk to the Spanish steps, not as close as mentioned in previous reviews, although it was a nice walk to do each morning. […] Marco provided us with a map when we first arrived highlighted all the best sites. The family were very helpful. Would stay again. Read more
"Hotel Golden - a great family run hotel"
This family run hotel offered everything we wanted. It was near to the Borghese gardens, sights and shopping areas. The family could not have been more helpful with info re. where to go, transport, and where to eat. Scrupulously clean, a good size room with good bathroom and plenty for breakfast. No view from our room, but very quiet as a result. We […] highly recommend it. Read more
