"Horrible stay at Elide"
Most awful hotel I have ever stayed in my whole life. Doesn't matter how little you want to pay, but in every sense this hotel should not be in your list by any means. The only good things I could share was the front desk folks (they are 5 brothers) were very nice but the room was absolutely horrible. We stayed there for 2 nights and every night me […] and family (of 4 with 2 boys) were scared to get back to this hotel. Non-functional AC/heater , dirty bedding, ugly room, very little hot water in bathroom to name a few of our discomfort. The location was pretty good though. Please do me a favor and never stay in this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not good enough"
We were 3 nights, the Internet was available only near the reception desk not in the room, it was important for us.. the location is good, near the train station Termini (6-9 min).. and you can visit most the center of the city by walkingGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place to stay"
A clean high ceiling room close to Termini, train central station. Friendly staff and good Service. The only issue was hot water pressure change during shower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A good choice for the money"
The location is fantastic, but the hotel has some quirks, once you get it figured out, then it's alright. The A/C is limited to use only during certain months, which wasn’t too bad since most of the day you are out sightseeing and in the evening you can open the windows. But a reminder, if you open the windows to let in the cooler night air, you also […] let in the noise and Rome is a noisy city and the street lights are bright. Some earplugs and a mask are helpful. The neighborhood is safe and convenient to both the metro and the bus lines and the Termini is also a short walk or cheap cab ride away. The staff was very welcoming on arrival, but we did have some problems getting in to the hotel later in our stay. There is a buzzer on the door and either it wasn’t working or they didn’t hear it and we sat outside waiting for about 20 min one time. Breakfast was some good pastries, cereal, juice and such. Overall, a good choice for the location and price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights and paid a very reasonable price for it. Generally, we were quite satisfied with what we got for the price, with few exceptions. The main problem in the hotel was the hot water in the shower- the pressure was very low, so there were times when you could hardly shower because the water just wouldn't come. In addition […] it was very hard to adjust the temperature, so unless you got lucky the water was either boiling, or much colder. The room was clean and contained everything you might need, but the service in the reception was poor. The staff hardly speaks English, so it was challenging to get any info. Even though they claim there's Wi-Fi only in the lobby, we had a low signal in our room also (second floor), which was more than enough for our needs. In conclusion, if you are looking for a hotel near the center for a low price and your expectations are not too high, this could be the right choice for you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you like tiny, overpriced rooms"
I cannot believe we paid €120 per night for this place. The rooms are tiny, with barely enough room to walk around the bed. The bathroom is even smaller. The shower was like an afterthought, stuck in the corner with one of those horrible curtains. Ours even overflowed and ran into the bedroom when we used it! The 'breakfast room' is basically a corridor […] leading to the bedrooms. Needless to say we didn't make use of this facility. The hotel location is decent, but the noise from outside destroys any advantage that this has. The only decent thing this hotel had going for it was the Wi-Fi, but I'm sure you could find the same in a much nicer hotel. Don't stay here.
Echter prijs/kwaliteit verhouding is prima.
Genuine Expedia guest review
"Simpel hotel centraal gelegen"
Bedden waren matig. Douche was slecht.

Ruhige Seitenstrasse. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Práctico hotel para moverte por Roma"
Caminando al metro, Republica - 5 min. Caminando a Termini - 10...15 min. Caminando a Piazza Venecia - 15...20 min.
Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Weekend getaway at Hotel Elide"
I can highly recommend Hotel Elide for a trip to Rome, since it's a good 3-star hotel. The hotel is conveniently situated close to sights, e.g. the Spanish steps or Colosseum is a 15-20 minutes walk away. You can reach Termini station in 10 minutes by foot, and the closest metro (Repubblica) is just around the corner. The hotel is very clean and the […] staff is friendly. The breakfast is a little light for a Scandinavian, consisting of pastries, rolls, butter, jam, milk, cereal, coffe/tea and juice, but ok anyway. Might be a little noisy and hot for a troubled sleeper, but that's the only negative thing I have to say about this hotel! :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Going over 10 years in Rome, but this hotel was the most unpleasant experience I had. Location is very good, but Hotel Elide was terrible.Internet not working in the room, the place where breakfast is served is totally inappropriate, what to say about what is offered. After the first experience I make mistake If you use obviously paid the safe in the room should know that it has two keys, one of which remains at the reception and you risk running out of money, as we happened to us.Staff is disinterested.
"Very good value for this price"
09/15/14 Iznanka Kursk, Russia
+ Nice location (off the busy street, close to all the transport, walking distance to via Nationale, Piazza della Repubblica and Roma Termini, very safe). Very affordable (we payed around 40 Euros/night for a double room). The staff's really nice and helpful. Our room and bathroom were clean. - The room was so tiny we had to put our suitcases outside (bit it's typical for this kind of hotels in Rome). I read about poor breakfasts, so we didn't take them. We went to the coffee place across the street instead or the sandwich shop downstairs - both are nice. There is a lift, but you have to climb the stairs anyway (it's not that easy with a suitcase). The room was stuffy, so we had to open the window. It must get worse in the summer. In general, it was a very good value for the money. We spent all day in the city and only came to the hotel to have some sleep. If you are such kind of traveller, it's a good choice. If you plan to spend much time in the hotel, I would notrecommend it.

Not the cleanest or prettiest but it was cheap. Location is ok, not too far to walk to everything. Extremely disappointed at the maid leaving our room unlocked for a whole day! Charge is €20 for the safe key, not returnable. Staff reasonably helpful but a little disinterested. We booked under the name of Giorini a Roma via booking.com so was a bit confusing to find and strange they operate under 2 name while only showing signage for one!
"Noisy, dirty, comfortable bed."
09/09/14 Carla M Manchester, England, United Kingdom
My partner took me to Rome for a weekend break and we had the most amazing time and the weather was incredible. Unfortunately, the only thing that let the experience down was the hotel. We are in our young 20s and so we wanted to budget the cost. In Rome, this can be very difficult, but seeing that it was apparently 3 stars and within budget, he chose this hotel. The location is quite good, just off the top of Via Nazionale, a 5 minute walk from the train station, 15 minutes from the Spanish Steps, 20 minutes from the Trevi Fountain, 25 minutes from the Pantheon and maybe 30 mins from the Colosseum. The hotel is located in a building shared with apartments and has a lift that can take you to the second floor, albeit it is tiny, but a lift for people wanting to avoid the stairs nonetheless (we took the stairs as is not a great deal to walk at all). The staff were ok, the cleaner needs to be replaced as she doesn't know how to smile or talk quietly at 7am nor can she clean. The reception staff were fine. The cleanliness of our room was dissappointing; mould on the shower curtain (replace it with a door!!), there was enough dust under the bed to write your name. The shower shelf had rusted away and was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom floors get really really wet so make sure you don't slip. The pillows on the bed were so thin and flat I needed to fold mine in half so it became the size of a normal one. But, the bed was really comfortable, it was such a good mattress. We had a 'small' room and actually, once they had taken a single bed out of it, was a good size room. It was definitely small, but what we had expected. The other problem is the noise. We are well aware that cities are noisy, we live in the centre of Manchester but the windows were just awful, with holes in the walls. We could hear people having conversations on the street until 3am. So, take ear plugs and sleeping pills! Also, don't be fooled when they give you the air conditioning remote when you first arrive, because if you use it they will charge you an extra 10 euros. They have brought in a new city tax as well as of the beginning of September this year. Each guest has to pay the city 2 euros pppd on top of the pre existing tourist rates which is also 2 euros pppd. You cannot pay for this by card when you pay for the hotel, you have to pay in cash. We didn't try breakfast as the reviews were awful and we could go elsewhere in the city and have great coffee, great croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice, all for about 15 euros. Also, a weird thing was you had to leave your hotel key every time you left in the morning because the cleaner needed to know if you had left or not. We didn't like doing this and they staff were quite adamant that if we didn't leave the key the room wouldn't be cleaned, even though on the first day it was cleaned and we had the key with us. They need to get the door talkers which say "do not disturb" or "please clean" that you put on the door- this would really help! We highly recommend the restaurant La Rienza (blue building) right by the Pantheon- amazing food and the street entertainment makes it an unforgettable experience. All in all, great city can't wait to go back next year, not a great hotel, wouldn't go there again.

Great location.Just 2 blocks from Republicca Metro Station.Safe area even at night. Very close to everything.Fontana di Trevi just 15 minutes on foot. Modern and very clean rooms.Quiet street.Very economical hotel for the comforts it offers. Very helpful staff speaking english. Did everything to make my stay comfortable. Had elevator too which is important! The only drawback that air conditioning cost 5 euros extra and wifi is only available in common areas not in the rooms.Basic breakfast is also for extra 2 euros so not a big deal.

Whilst the accommodation is a mixture of old and tired bathroom and modernised features such as digital TV, aircon and new bedroom furniture, the place was clean and welcoming. The breakfast was adequate and overall this was good value. It is well located giving you easy walking access to Trevi, Spanish Steps, Piazza Venezia etc. also the Metro us only a couple of minutes walk away. I had read reviews where there had been gripes about the cleanliness of the bathroom/toilet but to be fair, ours was as I say "tired" but clean. I would stay here again.

It is a good hotel for staying several days, the location is very convenient for sight seeing and shopping as well. Everything within walking distance. The hotel is clean, a little bit noisy (but when you come tired you don't feel this), with poor but nice breakfast.
"Great location, awful hotel"
02/25/14 Duke_family_x_6 Swindon, United Kingdom
The Hotel Elide is in a great location within easy walking distance of everything in Rome. The rooms are small, which is understandable and acceptable for a converted house that is hundreds of years old. The bed was clean. That is all that is positive about it. There were only two very thin pillows and when we asked for another two we were told that there weren't any more. The heating was on full blast. There was no way of turning it down and the radiator controls had been removed. We couldn't open the windows as the noise from neighbours would have been even more unbearable. Air conditioning costs extra, room safe costs extra, tv costs extra. Bedroom walls are paper thin, if we could speak French or Italian we could have joined in the conversations with the neighbouring rooms. The next morning by 7:20am there was no hot water! Luckily I had only just got in the shower and had not put shampoo in my hair. As it was I had to shower with cold water. There was no kettle and so we did not have the option to heat water to wash with! Breakfast was shocking even by Roman standards. Cornetti and bread rolls, butter and jam. No fruit or yogurts. The worst coffee either of us have ever experienced anywhere in the world and all served up on dirty plates and cups. We watched the staff rinse the plates and cups and then put in the dishwasher rack, we thought that the dishwasher would then be turned on, but no! The dishes were then dried with a grubby dish towel and put back out for use! The level of cleanliness is extremely low, the level of service is atrocious and needless to say we will not stay here again.
