My family absolutely loved staying at Aurelia Residence! Julia and Simone were awesome help! They answered any question, helped set up tours, and made us fell at hkme. The rooms are large, it's very clean, and has a wonderful breakfast! The only negative thing I can think of is the rooms are not sound proof at all. You can hear doors open and shut all […] day and traffic outside, but at night it did not bother me at all, so it wasn't bad enough I would not recommend staying there. "Awesome staff, great stay, but with some caveats"
THE GOOD: - The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Very good English. Went out of their way to show us how to get around, where to buy food, where to eat, etc. - Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was good. Plenty of choices. - Location in terms of proximity to the Vatican was great -- about a 5 minute walk. - Apartment was very big and very clean. […] Stove, fridge, dishwasher. - Grounds are pretty and well-maintained. - Complex felt safe (locked gate + locked outer doors + apartment locks.) THE CAVEATS: - Apartment was clean, but carpets & wallpaper showed its age. - It's about 20 feet from the train tracks. Luckily we read about the train in advance, so we brought earplugs and weren't really bothered by it. - The bells from St. Peters ring early in the morning, and throughout the day. Again, earplugs helped at lot. - The bathroom was brand new, but the shower was very small. I'm 5'8" and 175 lbs, and it was tiny even for me. - The neighborhood is not great. Fine to walk during the day, but kinda sketchy at night. We didn't feel comfortable walking with kids after dark. - There is a laundry in the basement, but it's one tiny washing machine that has a 3-hour cycle, and there's no dryer. Overall, I'd recommend Aurelia Residence. None of the caveats are deal-breakers, just things you should consider before booking. If you know what to expect, it's a great place to stay. "Great location, fantastic service"
Booked in last minute to the Aurelia Residence for 4 nights and had a fantastic stay. Although it's technically a hotel, the "rooms" are all self catered apartments which allow for a degree of independence and comfort that is difficult to find in such a central location. The apartment was really spacious, with a lovely balcony, large sitting room and […] comfortable bedrooms. Worth noting that because they apartments you get a lot more space than you do in typical Rome hotels. The hotel is a very short walk to the vatican, with a great local restaurant 5 minutes down the road for the evenings. Also right on the 46 and 64 bus routes that take you straight into the heart of the city (good route for the Pantheon, Capitale hill etc) which makes it very convenient for getting around. The staff were really friendly and very helpful, and keen to help you get orientated when you're ready to head out exploring. A great friendly place to stay, particularly if this is your first time in Rome!

"Beautiful apartment in Rome"

We recently stayed in the Aurelia Residence for a week and the apartment was very clean, spacious and beautifully presented. The terrace provided lovely views and there was plenty of space to sit outside in the afternoon and enjoy the scenery. We also hung our clothes out to dry on the clothing horse provided. The staff were always very pleasant and their English was very good. The breakfast is served outside and we were very impressed with the variety of fruit and pastries offered. Moreover, the staff were so friendly and keen to offer any advice on venturing into Rome and recommendations for restaurants. They managed to create a truly warm environment and the community aspect was very comforting especially travelling as a family. The area itself is very quiet in comparison with the hustle and bustle of the historic centre which is nice if you prefer a less hectic atmosphere. Nevertheless, the restaurants are all within easy walking distance and are well-priced and very authentic. You are only a short walk away from the Vatican making it easy to arrive in ample time to avoid long queues and capture spectacular images at night. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and we would certainly return there should we visit Rome again.

We stayed in an apartment with a terrace was great. Once we had done the sights lovely to come back get some deli items from the near by Carrafour (inc wine) and enjoy on our own terrace. The Duck a great suggestion from the young lady ( sorry forgotto) who was great on arrival and very helpful to ensure we had a great stay. Apartment the Bellini Coralli apartment and worth the extra. Great breakfast (with the very helpful Gennaro) and only a short walk to the Vatican. Made our Rome stay. Thanks

We recently stayed in Rome for 4 nights as a family of 5. 2 Adults and 3 children. We had a 2 bed apartment that was very comfortable and relaxing. The rooms were clean as was the overall complex. Staff very helpful and friendly, made us feel very welcome. Breakfast with the view of the city and Vatican was lovely, a great way to start the day. The walk up the road the get to the apartments is a bit crazy as there is limited footpath on either side and non existent outside the main gate - bit scary entering and exiting with children, with cars whizzing by. Would stay again - however I'm not planning on visiting Rome again! Thanks Aurelia Residence!

We came in a group of 11 people and stayed at the Aurelia Residence for 2 nights. I really love this place and highly recommend it. Very convenient ,close to Rome and the tourist center. Breakfast is delicious. The staff is very friendly, especially Gexinaro. He is really helpful and spent time to show me what and where to see in Rome. He treated us with respect and warm welcome. The staff is very kind. Whatever we need, they always help with the smiling and do anything they can to accommodate our need.

Simon and his wife were the friendliest, nicest and most fun people I have ever met checking in somewhere. They went above and beyond and they get 10 Stars!. The waiter for breakfast - Gennaro - also gets 10 Stars - such a nice hard working person! Good honest genuine nice people working hard to make people enjoy their stay - The breakfast every morning was great and was on an open terrace area so you could sit outside which was awesome! There were seven of us - all family - and the apartment exceeded our expectations in every way. We loved our stay there and to top it off the price was good too. Five star Staff and Five star Stay.
"At the Aurelia Residence Again!"

My wife and I spent another ten days in Rome and at the Aurelia Residence this year after having spent nine days there last year to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We had said that if we ever went back to Rome, we would without a doubt stay at the Aurelia.. Once again, our stay was absolutely marvelous and first rate. From the moment we were picked up at Leonardo Da Vinci airport (arranged through Aurelia), we were treated like returning members of the family. Paula, Simone and Raffaele were their usual "first rate" selves who made us feel more than welcome and responded to our every need. We ever took the same room we had last year (Verdi Studio)...just big enough for two people. It had all the amenities we would ever need: dishwasher, microwave, small fridge, oven, plates, utensils, etc...we used very little as when in Rome there is only one thing to do.....sample all the local cuisine (and we did!). The Aurelia serves a very hearty (and healthy!) breakfast...lots of variety from freshly squeezed juices, cereals, pastries, sandwiches, yogurt, eggs, etc, etc. Much more than the typical "continental breakfasts" you are likely to find in higher priced hotels. An added bonus was the fact that Aurelia gave us a better room rate this year than last year (and last year's rate was great!). The Residence is literally an 8-minute walk from the centre of Piazza San Pietro and a five-minute walk at catch a bus to the centre of Rome. We purchased a week-long bus pass for 24 Euro each and that allowed us unlimited use on buses and the Metro (which, by the way, is very efficient - even though always crammed with people). As I mentioned last year, Aurelia is worth far more that what you pay for...the service and friendliness of the staff can't be beat for any amount of money. Another great word of thanks to Gennaro...we still think he makes the best cappuccino in all of Rome! My wife and I may be making plans to return to Rome again in 2015...and there is absolutely no doubt as to where we will stay.
"Home from Home"

I stayed at Aurelia residence for 5 weeks and would highly recommend it. I stayed in a 2 bed apartment for the first 4 weeks as I had friends coming out to stay at different times, and then moved to a 1 bed for the last week. The addition of my friends was never a problem and they were made very welcome at the residence. I have travelled all around the world and stayed in many lovely places (I am also very critical), and I found the apartments to exceed my expectations. It really was home from home. Comfy beds, powerful showers, adequate kitchen facilities, spacious lounge area. My only complaint was the noise from the main road which after a few days I got used to and it really didn't affect my sleep. The breakfast was an added bonus and always served with a smile by the very friendly and helpful staff. Regards the team at the residence, I found them all to be very helpful and friendly (always had a smile or a helping hand with my Italian) however, a special mention needs to be made regards Raffeale Masiello. Raffeale went out of his way to provide so much information regards the best places to visit and when. His knowledge of the city was comparable, correction, better than a 5 star concierge service. His suggestions and help on places to visit meant that I also visited many of the non tourist attractions and some of the most amazing restaurants which really made my trip. Thank you to you all. I will recommend the residence to my friends in the future.
"Quiet location in chaotic Rome. Beautiful and spacious apartment."

PROS: 1) My kids loved the spacious and beautiful apartment. We booked the 2 BR/2TB and it was much bigger than we expected. We loved the furniture and the bright ambiance. 2) The masters bedroom had a new and modern shower. 3) We looked forward to having breakfast at them beautiful Solarium with the very warm staff and the best-tasting Capuccino. 4) Simone, the one and only Front Desk staff we met was very helpful and funny. My kids loved him. He was very organized and had a prepared "orientation" for us. He referred us to Goose Pizzeria nearby which served the best-tasting pizza we have ever tried in Rome. 5) The apartment was very clean when we arrived. 6) A pleasant 15-20 minute walk to St Peter's Square where all the tourist bus stops are. 7) It was quiet in our apartment I did not notice the noisy trains. 8) Toiletries were replenished and complete. 9) Should be rated as a 4-5 star serviced apartment. CONS: 1) The kids' toilet and bath needs to be remodeled. It's a far contrast from the new shower the masters bedroom has so the kids ended up using out bathroom too! 2) The Front Desk is not 24/7 in case there are emergencies/inquiries. 3) Cars cannot go in the compound so all bags have to be brought down in front of the gate along the busy road. I understand that cars are not allowed in for the safety and security of the guests but be prepared to bring your bags from the gate to the lift located in the lobby. 4) Guests are required to bring out their kitchen trash which can be quite inconvenient especially if you have a tight schedule and you reach the apartment late at night.
"Large apartment and breakfast inc great"
03/13/14 Colin B Newry
This is a great place to stay. We stayed in a one bedroom but the same apartment could easily sleep 4 there is a bed settee in living room. There is a large kitchen, large bathroom and a balcony the whole length of apartment. Apartment cleaned everyday. And breakfast is included, so it's like a 4-5 star hotel with great service. Reception we're very helpful. They give us details and directions for all sites in Rome. Also we're able to arrange taxis and book site tickets. We had a problem with shower head and when I mentioned it , the shower was fixed when we came back to apartment. It's only 10 minutes walk to the Vatican and there a few nice places to eat close to the apartment. Highly recommend this place. It very near train line so you can hear trains if the window is open. But ther are no trains after midnight and you don't get any noise from street. You could walk to most of the sites but we found taking a bus to some sites was a faster way.
"Nice place, friendly staff"

We chose this hotel on the recommendation of my husband's Italian colleague who stays here during visits to Rome. Having flown in from IAD on a flight that arrived before 8:00 AM we were grateful to be given a room way before the regular check-in time by the very friendly staff. They even upgraded our room from a Rossini/Puccini to a Vivaldi, which, because our particular apartment is situated on the ground floor, has its own courtyard! Although the apartment showed a little wear it was nevertheless clean and spotless. Even the grounds of the complex was clean and properly maintained. Why the 3 stars instead of a 4 or 5? A few things: 1) The property is either next to or very, very close to the metro track because even with all the windows closed you could hear the train rushing by. After the first day though we kinda got used to it, for the most part. 2) The limited availability of the front-desk staff. Although we were aware of this even before we booked our stay we still couldn't help but get frustrated on several occasions. We needed taxi service a couple of nights and had nobody to turn to for help (the automated taxi service is in Italian). Another time a friend tried calling us at the apartment but couldn't get a hold of us because there was nobody to patch the call through. 3) The website states that there is daily maid service except on Sundays and holidays (there was no holiday during our stay). We arrived on a Friday and we didn't get maid service until Monday. The following day, had I not requested that our apartment be cleaned again, they wouldn't have done so. Some guests don't mind sporadic housekeeping but I do. This was one of my main concerns and I even exchanged emails with them prior to our arrival to confirm that there will be daily maid service. While this property is a stone's throw from the Vatican it is important to know that the Vatican Museum entrance is on the side that's farthest from Via Aurelia. St. Peter's Square is a good 20-minute walk (this is an estimate since we never walked to St. Peter's) so walking to the Vatican Museum would probably take twice as long. Cab ride from Aurelia Residence to the Vatican is anywhere from €7 to €9 while a cab ride to Rome's city center is €11 to €15. There's a Carrefour (supermarket) within walking distance (10 minutes) and a really good restaurant frequented by locals (Goose Ristorante) 2 blocks away. There's no pavement on Aurelia Residence's side of the street (it's a busy street and cars zip by at around 40 mph) but the property's gate is set back about 3 feet from the road so when you step out of the gate there is actually space for you to stand while you wait for traffic to clear so you can cross the street to where the pavement is.
