"Budget accomodations in a great location"
Great location on the waterfront in San Zaccaria; you don't have to carry your bags up and down any stairs, as the vapporeti stop is only about 50 meters from the hotel entrance. The building is old and the furnishings dated, but the price is about half (or less) of what other nearby hotels charge. The rooms are clean and well kept, but the air conditioning […] can't contend with the summer heat. Combine this with an abundance of mosquitos and . . . well, expect to be bitten. "Great location BUT...."
Great location on the Grand Canal, easy access to everything - very close to St. Mark's Square and water taxi's but, a catch 22 because it was a little noisy being so close to merchants and the taxi's? No A/C......and No elevator so, 4 flights of stairs was a bit tiresome.....overall, enjoyed the hotel and would still choose to stay here again if/when […] we come back to Venice! Great location near major tourist sites with friendly staff. Nice breakfast/dinner room. But if you want to get away from the crowds--this is not your hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"First impressions are important"
The person on reception when we arrived was particularly unhelpful and not in the least welcoming. There was no offer to help us with our bags even though we are in our 60's and were on the 3 rd floor - no lift. There was a terrible fish smell through the hotel but fortunately not in our room. When we arrived back from dinner the reception had changed […] over and the man was very happy, chatty and helpful and changed the whole atmosphere of our stay. Lovely room, great position. "Great hotel, excellent location"
Stayed here for 2 nights in a quadruple bedroom overlooking the lagoon. The views were amazing, the rooms were clean and the restaurant was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect location, recommend lagoon view room. It wasn't a flash hotel, but it had a lot of character and charm. Get off at San Zaccaria stop and it's just on the right, no crossing any bridges!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location venice"
Nobody helps you with heavy suitcases. We were on the third floor. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Staff were helpfull especially Michalee. Breakfast was included, but it was average. No water left in the room. You need it when you get back from touring because it's so hot.Genuine Expedia guest review

Pensione Wildner has an extraordinary placement two bridges from the St. Marcus square just besides one of Venices most expensive hotels. P. Wildner manages to keep its more romantic butique style in this very tourist heavy area of the city. Our room was decorated in an old romantic style with textured gold wallpaper, a large closet covered in blue/purple […] fabric and our bathroom included a bidet. The hotel looks old/used, but everything was working/clean and the staff was friendly. My wife loved falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the bay and the city sounds. "Didn't get to stay here but fantastic to deal with"

We had booked to stay at this hotel but due to a communications problem between my wife and I (I was wrong, didn't listen, should have known about other commitments etc. :) we were sadly not able to make the trip. I just wanted to post on here to say how very helpful and understanding the hotel was when I contacted them. Wonderful people to deal with.

We went to Venice for 2 days and stayed here. The most convenient of locations to stay in. It is bang opposite the San Zaccaria stop and can be reached by 4.1 or 5.1 from the St Lucia station. It has a beautiful verandah overlooking the lagoon and gondolas, where they have the restaurant and where the breakfast buffet is also served. They serve a lavish spread for the breakfast with their kitchen made croissants which literally melt in the mouth. I have to admit, the food quality is amazing! As far as the rooms are concerned, they are very neat and clean. We were really lucky to have got a free upgrade to the Double room with the Lagoon view. Waking up to see the sunrise over San Giorgio feels like heaven! All of Venice is a maze which is best experienced by getting lost in the narrow alleys running across the island. But the strategic location of this hotel makes life so much easier! Just a hop-scotch and you can be either at the Bridge of sighs or St Mark's square or the Rialto bridge. One cannot ask for a better location along with breath taking views. Being at the water front, there is no dearth of places to eat or shops to buy souvenirs and panettone! The only downside is if you get a room on a higher floor (to enjoy the views) as there is no elevator in the hotel. Hence it can be an ordeal taking your luggage up and down. The staff is really helpful. Being a cautious traveller, I had a ton of questions which Michele very kindly answered before we even made the booking. The day we had to check out was an Italian weekend break and hence all the visitors had checked out. He specially came and got the breakfast prepared just for us. We were also allowed to check out late as no guests were expected until next day. Pros - great location, great connectivity to the station and the other islands (murano and burano), friendly staff, great views Cons - no elevator Special thanks to Michele for the wonderful overall experience and a pleasant stay!
"A small hotel in a stunning location"

We have stayed at Hotel Wildner several times. The very first was in 1969, then in the late 1990s and more recently. The Hotel is still in the same family and, over 45 years we have met three generations of the family. Updated over the years the Hotel remains a real gem with the incredibly view of San Giorgio. It is close to San Marco, and has the advantage very easy access to several lines of vaporetti, including transport to the Airport (Alilaguna). The restaurant, open in the evenings, was a novelty for us and we enjoyed two excellent dinners. The staff are very helpful and we always felt welcome. Drawing the curtains open in the morning and seeing San Giorgo is such a wonderful sight. For our next trip to Venice we will again go to Hotel Wildner and we have recently recommended it to friends.
"Good, but could be better"

The location is excellent of this hotel. Staff is very helpful. The hotel has a restaurant, but it is very standard. We got a room on the first floor, and it was awful. We did not change, because, we just stayed 2 nights, but if you stay more, ask a room room on upper floor. Our room was small /but we did not care about that/, BUT it was very very noisy. We heard every single word, what other people talk at the lobby. Otherwise, it was very very clean, bathroom was good and breakfast was simply.

200 meters from San Marco square, facing the Grand Canal. Pristine views, a stones throw away from the Bridge of Sighs and a very leisurely walk from the beautiful San Marco Square. Easily reached by the Allilaguna line as it is on one of the main stops after departing the Airport. The only thing to be weary about is that there are no elevators so you will need to carry your luggage up the stairs. The only downside, which is no blemish on the hotel itself, is that we were recommended a private tour of a glassmaker on the island of Murano with no pressure sales attached, which we thought would be great to get away from pushy salesmen. Unfortunately this was not the case. We were left at the San Marco glassmaker(that was the sign above the door entrance we visited) and for the whole time we were there a tall, thin, well groomed person followed our every step. At the end of the visit he started making suggestions as to what we should buy, but the reality was we just wanted the experience of visiting a glassmaking factory. When he realised we were not going to make a purchase his demeanour changed and he then suggested we should go out onto the canal where we could purchase cheap chinese imitations. I strongly suggest you give this establishment a miss unless your into pushy salesmen. We all felt quite flat after that experience, unfortunately a blemish on a great time.

A great little hotel right on the Lagoon front. Easy to reach as the water bus and Airport water bus stop right outside at San Zaccaria. Hotel staff were very helpful and the rooms were clean and every thing worked well with nice comfortable beds. Get a room with a Lagoon view and watch the passing water traffic. Only 5 minutes walk to St Mark's square, we also found lots of restaurants in the streets behind the hotel.
"Customer Service -- above and beyond!"
10/12/14 Jaime B Gurnee, Illinois
I want to start by saying I didn't stay here, but had an amazing customer service experience! I recently was communicating with the hotel via their Facebook page about my up coming visit and what might be able to be done for my mom's birthday. I checked my email this morning to an email from the hotel that they didn't see my reservation on file. They were following up with me which I thought was amazing. Turns out that due to the hotel's availability I wasn't able to book with them because they didn't have space for us. I thought it was so nice of Michele to email me and make sure everything was set. To me that kind of service is hard to come by now days! Thank you so very much! I wish I was able to stay at your property while I will be Venice.
"The BEST Location......"
10/06/14 Flooze1974 London, United Kingdom
We have just got back from a two night stay (Friday/Saturday) at the Wildner and I cannot find fault in this fab little hotel. The 3 of us, Husband, 4 year old son and myself, all enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic, right on the main waterway from the St Marco Polo airport at the San Zaccaria ferry stop and less than 10 mins walk to St Mark's square, with all its museums, one way, then about 15-20 mins walk to the Public park / Napoleons park in the other direction. You are also only a couple of mins from the Navel Museum and Arsenale... The room was clean, very venetian and all the aircon and bathroom etc worked fantastic. We had 2 very nice nights sleep... The breakfast was nice, continental, and served in the Bistro at the front of the hotel, you can sip your morning coffee whislt watching Venice come to life.... All hotel staff were very freindly and helpful - We will definately go back.
"Location, location, location in Venice"

A very comfortable small hotel overlooking the grand canal, towards St George Island, right on the ferry and gondola wharf, only a couple of hundred meters from St Marks square. The rooms are comfortable and clean with good bathroom, staff are friendly and helpful. Double glazing and air conditioning quieten the passing parade. There is no lift, however. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, we ate in several times by preference - the menu was innovative and the cooking and service were first rate. Michaeli, the concierge, was a gem, with many helpful suggestions. Highly recommended.
"Perfect for 3 people traveling together!"
09/22/14 Tamara B Corvallis, Montana
My first remark when we entered the room was "oh my god, did we hit the jackpot when choosing this hotel, or what?" The room was beautiful and had 3 windows looking out over the Grand Canal. We had just gotten off of a cruise ship and where able to drop our bags downstairs and the wonderful desk clerk hauled them up the stairs for us (thank you Michele!). The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice and big. We had plenty of room for the 3 of us to move around and I loved standing and looking out the windows, people watching. I would definitely stay here again, if I ever make it back to Venice.
