"I would not go again."
Neither my husband, nor I, felt that this was a 4* hotel. It seems more like a business hotel with many single, male businessmen. There is no garden at all so, therefore, there is nowhere to sit outside in the sun to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. It was quite a small, depressing room making us disappointed as soon as we saw it. The staff made it very difficult […] for us when we wanted to book out after only one night, which we were not able to do. However, I would strongly recommend that if you go to this hotel, DO NOT book a Saturday night as it is immediately next door to a lively entertainment garden and there was a lively festival which went on until gone 1.00am. We rang down to reception many times - it felt as if they were in the room with us. The police had visited the hotel to warn them in advance about the noise but they did not warn the guests. This was very bad form. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Four rail stops from Bologna"
Lovely hotel in a quiet location although there is a convention centre next door which was closed when we stayed. The town is 20 mins walk for a choice of restaurants etc but the rail station is just a bit too far to walk to. The reception staff were very helpful and the room was clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Castello Hotel - relaxing location"
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel very much. It is good value for the price. It is not close to Airport but once you get there it is very relaxing location. You can walk/run along nature paths and easily into town. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Internet access is free and works well in the room and lobby area. Very quiet. It is right next […] door to the Confernce Center. Breakfast Buffet was good with plenty of selections. The restaurant with the hotel has good food but the staff was not as welcoming as the hotel staff. There are loads of restauarants within 10 -15 minutes walking distance, so one is not constrained to the hotel restauarant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Couldnt have been much better"
We were exceptionally well received, and we felt as welcome as ever. We were semi-interviewed, and received spot on advise on where to visit and what to see. Was worthy of a good concierge (and we aregenerally rather picky)... The town itself is a pearl, and surroundings (Dozza in particular) are fantastic. Should we come to the area again we will be […] back to this hotel!

"Avoid this hotel"

This is supposed to be a 4star hotel and it might have passed the tick boxes to acquire this status but it does not feel like a 4star hotel. There is no garden surrounding the hotel, therefore there was nowhere to have a quiet pre-dinner drink or to sit out in the afternoon. Basically, it is a business hotel and the bar was full of single businessmen. Our contract stated that we could cancel with 24 hours notice and we wanted to book out after one night. We gave them 48 hours notice but they made it very difficult for us and made us pay for four nights. We did this even though we didn't stay as we were so keen to be away. If you DO stay, make sure it is not a Saturday night as our bedroom window was immediately adjacent to an open air entertainment venue. There was a massive gig there echo went on into the early hours of the morning. We rang down at 1.00am but they couldn't do anything about it as it wasn't their event. The police had been there on the Thursday to warn them about it but they hadn't told their guests. The hotel was full of World Sbk racers who were NOT pleased to be awake all night!! Avoid if you want a peaceful holiday! The town itself is also very dull and boring and not worth seeing.
"A very good hotel"

The Castello is a modern concrete box attached to the Artemide Congress centre. Inside it is comfortable, clean, modern quiet. It is situated on the edge of the town, with parks and walks on the doorstep. The breakfast room is light and airy and the breakfast abundant, from scrambled eggs to fruit, rolls, cheese and so on. The rooms are clean, simple and comfortable. Abthroom a pleasant shade of peach, and the only fault I found in my stay was that the shower cabinet had nowhere to place the soap. Strange, in Italy, but true.

Stayed here during a business trip to the Bologna area. We picked this hotel by a coinsidence, and it turned out to be a very good choice. The hotel is plain but nice and clean. The staff are very service minded and always ready to fulfill our requests. My verdict is that this is great value for money and suitable both for business trips and for pleasure
"The last Hotel Room of the great Ayrton Senna."
08/09/12 technologycentre Lewes, United Kingdom
I booked this hotel for one reason and one reason only, I am an Ayrton Senna fan and wanted to spend the night in the hotel room he spent his final night in. I learnt this from the books i have read about him and with that in mind i booked a room at this hotel. I emailed the hotel twice before i booked to ask for Suite 200 which according to his autobiographies, he spent his final weekend and the hotel seemed to ignore the email. I then booked a normal room through Booking.com. When i turned up i asked about room 200 and was told that i would need to give 24 hours notice. I then showed them the booking form and it was written in the notes that i wanted Suite 200 if it was available. I am saying this because i want to make sure no one else loses the opportunity that i have had to stay in this historic room. The booking aside, once i entered the Hotel, i can honestly say in all the places i have travelled in and all the hotels i have visited, i have never ever been given such a warm welcome that i was given when i visited this hotel. I asked the man on reception about the great Ayrton Senna as i had visited Bologna with the sole purpose to visit the Imola Circuit where the tragic accident took the life of Ayrton. I was here for two days and asked the man on reception about the Suite 200. He arranged for the room to be available the following night and informed me that yes it was correct that Ayrton had spent his final weekend in this Suite. He also gave me the name of the Restaurant that Ayrton used to use when he was in Imola. Unfortunately the owners had shut it for the week that i was there so i will be returning next month to eat there. The decor of the hotel is very traditional and i urge the hotel not to change it at all as they have a real gem here. Ayrton stayed here when it was like this and with that in mind, it would be like white washing a Van Gogh painting if you changed it. For all Senna Fans you would never know how much of a find this was to be able to find the hotel and stay in the Suite for only about 100 euros per night. If this had been an official tour then i would have paid just to stay in the hotel that Ayrton Stayed in. To stay in the same Hotel room he actually stayed in i would have been prepared to pay 1000 Euros per night. The food in the restaurant was first class, the breakfast was not brilliant but only because i am used to a full english. In Italy this is there kind of breakfast and with that in mind it was good. All the staff were brilliant, The hotel room was clean, tidy, well maintained and perfect. It was really hot when i was there so i used the pool next door for a fee of about 10 euros for two people. One morning i came down for breakfast and the man on reception asked me if i had a camera. He brought out a large “McLaren” model given to the owners son 18 years ago by Ron Dennis the owner of McLaren as a present when he was a baby. We let us hold it and promptly used our cameras to take photos of this wonderful item for us. ( i have enclosed pictures). This hotel was used by Mclaren and Williams during the Imola Grand Prix weekends every time they were here and holds very deep historical importance in the history of those teams. It is a shame that the Grand Prix is not still held here, but Hey Ho they could not afford the money that Bernie Ecclestone required to hold the race and Bernie needs the money towards the cost of his daughters £80 million homes. If you visit this Hotel please because you are an Ayrton Senna fan take the time to visit the Ayrton Senna Memorial at Tumberello Corner and also the restaurant Trattoria Romagnola that he always went to when he stayed here. If you are not an Ayrton Senna fan and have not got a clue what i have been talking about, the place is very good, it is situated in a nice part of the world, is traditional Italian and is clean and tidy. Room rates are good value for money and you get a good nights sleep.

We stayed twice on a business trip to Bologna. It is a bit far from the centre but a 15 minute walk would do you no harm. Rooms are clean and quiet, staff friendly and helpful.

I visited this hotel many times. Recommend this Hotel for a city trip or business trip. It is a little ouside the centre but reachable within a 10minute walk or by bus. The rooms are OK and are being renovated, the restaurant food is good although on the expensive side.

"Good hotel in a good location"
10/05/10 Team_DC Coventry, England
Stayed for 7 nights in September. The hotel is in a good location on the edge of the town - but walkable to the town centre. All the hotels in the town are clustered in the same area. There are several restaurants within walkable distance. The food in the restaurant attached to the hotel - Restaurante Willy - was good, as was the service, but it was let down by having a large screen TV in the restaurant which was on constantly. Secondly there was a nicer part to the restaurant in a conservatory but as hotel guests, without a reservation, we were never seated in that part but instead were always seated in the area with the TV which was brighter, noisier and not as nicely furnished. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The hotel is rather dated in appearance and this was reflected in the decor of the room as well. However, the room and bathroom were a good size and clean. Some of the hangers in the wardrobe needed to be replaced because the rail to support trousers, and hooks to hang skirts on, were broken so could only hang up shirts/jackets. Sound-proofing of the rooms is not good and you can hear any noise in the next room - even someone coughing. Not sure if it is feasible to do anything about this but you could try and ensure you get a room that has vacant rooms either side. This was not possible when we stayed. My major niggle was with the hotel is the quality and quantity of the breakfast. It is a buffet breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised to find it offered hot dishes - boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and bacon. However on all but one of the sevendays there was never any scrambled eggs or bacon left because the hotel only offers one dish of each and when it is gone it is not replenished. The amount offered would probably only feed 10-12 people maximum and as the hotel has 63 rooms unless you are first down to breakfast you won't get any. Similarly, the machine to boil eggs held about 6 or 7 eggs and that was never replenished either. The only items to be replenished were croissants and, if you asked, bread. Also with the exception of an additional sweet pastry dish there was never any variety to the menu which if staying for a week, as we were, gets a bit repetitive. The quality of the cereal, bread and orange juice was not very good and better quality products would greatly enhance the breakfast experience. I would rate the hotel as a good three star property rather than four star but for the location and price, if I were to stay in Castel San Pietro Terme again, I would probably chose to stay at this hotel.
