The overall hotel is great with awesome facilities. The room itself is super clean and tidy. The only problem for us is that it is quite far considering walking to the CBD.

Location: Good with Q Victoria market across the road. Lots of eateries - fast food as well as Asian. Also convenience sfores nearby. 10-minute walk to Bourke Street Mall (shopping area of MEL) Room: Insufficient shelves/drawers for clothes. Compact room so had to unpack bags to have space to move around. Good staff service however very diappointed in comfort and cleanliness of room. Our toilet was unclean and toilet roll dispenser left empty. We had a glass left out on the bedside table which appeared used. Great location for brunswick street (which is where we needed to be), queen vic and melbourne central.

We were most impressed with the breakfast buffet. Although there was not a huge selection, what was offered was very good. Also the staff member in the breakfast restaurant was very accommodating. She offered us espresso coffee when the filtered coffee ran out so we didn't have to wait for another batch to brew. Also when something ran out on the buffet […] she would bring the fresh batch over to us before putting it on the buffet. It was a nice touch. Hotel was pleasant and located very close to the Victoria St Markets and Lygon St (restaurants). Room was clean but small which is ok considering you're not there all day and some of the night! The tiles in the bathroom were all loose which was a worry but the shower was gorgeous. Booked this as a city break for my parents with breakfast for two included. However I was told by them that the hotel staff said that breakky wasn't included. It was little annoying that I had to get my parents to wrestle for the breakfast that was included.thank god I printed a copy of the booking for them which states in black n white the inclusions. […] Breakfast was eventually arranged but staff should not deny breakfast saying that the price I paid couldn't have included it. The reception staff is very friendly and tries to give you all the helpful information, e.g. shopping places, etc. The room is a bit smaller than what I thought, it is a studio with all necessary facilities. Good location for universities, and market. Reasonably close to Lygon Street restaurants. Wifi connection only possible in bar/restaurant area, and only for a few hours in the morning. Room comfortable, but sleep was frequently disrupted by noises - either people in the room above or walking past in the corridor. Not pleasant at 4 am.

A good no-frills hotel right next to the Victoria Markets and a few minutes by tram away from the city. Each room has its own kitchen, which is great if you're staying a few days and want to save some money on eating out every night.

Room was modern, clean and comfortable. TV was small and car parking was tight. Dissapointed that extra charges were higher or non existant on the Hotels.com web site, therefore instead of paying an set amount we had to pay 50% more. If we had known that we would have stayed somewhere else.

The location of the hotel saved the day. The room was quite basic for the price. 4 coat hangers, no drawers or shelves for your underwear, tops etc. Reception very helpful & pleasant. Took 2 days for ice to freeze, ice machine not working but helpful Reception gave us ice so after 1st night we were okay.

We stayed at the hotel for six nights. We were not informed during check-in that there will be no service during Easter Holidays. If we did not make the request at the reception after three days, our room will not be cleaned, towels will not be changed and bed will not be made up for five days. That would be quite intolerable!

Airport bus shuttle brought us to the door and our room was free so we were allowed in immediately - great after a 3am start from New Zealand. Location was great for my purposes, room comfortable, and well set up. Other than the one major problem with room 1036 I would recommend this hotel. Problem with room 1036 was being woken both mornings at 5.30am approx by a large bang and the sound of machinery squealing for 10 minutes. Noice appears to come from laundry which is next door .

We arrived at the hotel a little early & had to wait for check in until 2pm, I realise this is what time check in is but usually hotels make exceptions especially when they are not full-not here. The room was awful. How is can be described as deluxe is beyond me. The images on the internet must have been taken many years ago. floors & windows were dirty. […] Walls were covered in marks & big chips out of the plaster. Excellent apartment, superb location, very comfortable. The one criticism is that it would be useful to provide 4 settings of cutlery and crockery, glasses etc. In a self catering flat it is nice to be able to entertain two guests. Although the immediate area might not appear the most scenic, the location next to the QV market has a lively feel. First impressions of hotel are good, and the room is modern, well appointed and spacious. Worth checking that all kitchen equipment (kettle etc) work before trying to make the morning cup of tea! Outside noise is kept to a minimum (we […] were on the 11th floor) but banging doors and corrider noise proved problematic on first night. This is possibly a recurring theme as the in-room info book insists the hotel operates a NO PARTY/ no banging door policy. Having said that we were offered a change of room for the rest of our stay and this solved the nuisance problem. I suspect most guests are business people rather than party animals. We did not take the hotel breakfast (restaurant area although trendily smart was a bit soulless) but with the market next door and the rest of Melbourne on your doorstep there are plenty of options. There was also a self serve laundry room in the hotel which would prove useful for longer stays. We stayed 3 nights and would definitely recommend Central Sky Lounge to others. Read more

I was surprised to get that rate for December 31st. Clean and comfortable hotel, convenient location. Only things I wasn't happy with : My booking was for two adults, breakfast included. But was told that breakfast was for one. Also, the TV would not switch off - had to switch off from the power point. But overall, it was good value.

I rang reception on several occasions to find out why the in-room movies didn't work. As a manager of a rival property in melbourne i would've expected the issue to be followed up with as i was told it would be. Not too happy bout that but the stay was rather enjoyable dispit that issue.

What a fantastic place and so well placed!! We arrived at 9 am and were not able to use our room as it was still being cleaned. We happily spent a couple of hours at the markets and surrounding area. When we went back to Sky Lounge, after 12 pm the room still wasn't ready. The lady on the desk promised to ring us when it was ready as the room had a […] guarantee of entry at 2 pm. Still waiting for the call! We were lucky to have cooking and washing facilities and a trundle bed. The kitchen was large with a dish washer and microwave and 2 burner cook top. There was a flat screen tv in the lounge and another on rhe wall in the bedroom. The trundle bed did not take up much space at all.It suited us perfectly. There was very little noise from other guests or traffic. The best part of our stay was the breakfast. bacon eggs mushrooms hash browns meusli cereal toast coffee tea yoghurt.It was of a high quality and the service was sensational. Rhiannon, who was in charge could not have been more helpful or pleasant. She was able to get us an extra 2 hours as a late check out. Carla, who was on the desk that morning was also helpful. My partner stayed at the sky lounge for 3 nights - the room was very clean, just as depicted on the website, it kept us very warm (nice split system air con), the staff were friendly, the views from the room were excellent, the room was serviced daily with fresh towls being provided.
