Enjoyable - just a couple of small details would have scored 5 - no teapot, or facility to make real coffee, no pillowcases on spare pillows, only one smallish towel each ( always a challenge when one has long hair). Air conditioning a mystery ...but views were great, and staff friendly and helpful. General comfort very good.

Loved it there! Location was amazing, service outstanding, and facilities great. Nice restaurant, pool and workout room were excellent. That footbridge into the CBD is a godsend and easy access to the Wharf Precinct and downtown Darwin adds to the overall positive experience. great location, Medina Vibe was ideally situated on the Darwin Waterfront precinct with magnificent views, only a short walk to Stokes Hill Wharf and to the city. Great activities for families and children with the pool just outside the door of the motel and close to restaurants and bars.

Excellent staff and location. I have stayed here in 2009 when first built so room maintenance has not been great. There were ants on the bed but staff were prompt to solve it. The temperature setting of the air-conditioning system doesn't go below 21 degree Celsius. Given it's vicinity to the convention centre will stay here again.

I arrived early morning from airport. Grateful for early check-in to catch some sleep. Room was comfortable enough. Bathroom/toilet was handicapped friendly, hence plenty of space but basic. The star rating is grand and the building is not quite. The service is anything but grand. On check-in I was put down for regular breakfast during my 4 days stay and each morning the restaurant staff had to ring the desk when I refused to sign their request to be charged for breakfast. Evidently I was not on the restaurant breakfast list - the first […] day, or the second, third or fourth. A small thing perhaps but annoying and not what you expect for its star rating. I forgot my phone chargers and left them in the room. Housekeeping had no record of them and would not consider that the cleaner had pocketed them. After my insistingthat I did in fact leave them behind, they did offer me a phone charger they had in lost property - mine or someone else's was not clear to me. I was told it would be at reception for a friend to pick up on my behalf. When my friend arrived nobody knew anything!! Never again. Read more

We didn't have any problems with this hotel or the staff who were very friendly and helpful at all times. The studio we had was quite adequate for us and the addition of a small kitchen section with microwave and toaster etc was great as we could cook our own breakfast before setting out for the day. My stay in the Grand Medina Darwin was nothing but disappointment. Firstly on your website you don't mention you have to pay for parking at the hotel at $10 per night. $70 for 7 days! Disgusting! the rooms in this hotel are comfortable and clean but if you ask for a room with a good view you'll get a lovely view of a nice tree and you'll pay extra for it . the hallways are grubby and you'll get to see all of them because to get from the car park you have to get in a lift then go to the top floor get out of the lift walk through the car park […] then try and get your key in the door and get your luggage through the door then an other door then walk down the grubby hallway to the next set of lifts then head down to the floor your room is on then all the way back down the grubby hallway and they will charge you extra for the privilege of using the car park and in 90% humidity after doing that when you go to check out you'll be sweating that much you'll leave a puddle on the counter I'm amazed the didn't try to charge me extra for that Read more

My Wife and I spent 4 night at the Medina grand over the melb cup weekend and had a fantastic time in Darwin. The Medina Staff were very helpfull from the time we arrived til the time we departed back to Melb. The hotel is in the perfect position and within walking distande to the shopping center and local attractions. Will definately come back.

If you end up on the side of the hotel facing the road. Not good! There is a grate that bangs every time a vehicle comes in or out. Traffic starts at 5am through to 1am. We were moved to the port side of the hotel. That was quiet and relaxing. Cleaning staff forget to do things but that could be fixed with some training. We thoroughly enjoyed our one week stay at the Medina in a one bedroom apartment. It is in an excellent location and our room was very clean and comfortable and serviced daily. The harbour view is fabulous. There are many restaurants in this vicinity and public transport close by. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

The room is ok, but the daily room make up is not satisfied!! Also, the sound insulation is quite bad, that made me can not sleep well. Nevertheless, the room's smoke detectors gave alarm twice at one night when we were deeply sleep and no smoke in our room. Restaurant had average decor for a 4-star and the servings were over-priced for the serving size you received. Highly recommend swimming at the Wave Pool Park directly in front of the hotel as the waterpark is better maintained. Hotel is a short walking distance to the adjacent wharf, and Darwin CBD. Also, catching the local bus was very easy as a bus depot is also a very short walking distance from the hotel. You couldn't pick a better position as the Medina is so close to all must-see sights and the CBD. We loved being able to walk to the waterfront restaurants and so many choices of food to eat. The parklands was so enjoyable in the evenings for a walk or just sit for relaxation.

The one bedroom waterfront apartment was exactly what we needed for a six night stay. If mobility is a problem you should choose a more central location but everything is just a short taxi ride away. We hired a car for the the last 3 days and parking was included. It is a safe environment.
