"Spring break get away"
We came down with 2 parents and 4 teenagers for spring break. We all had a wonderful time. Loved that San Jose (the town is a great visit for shops and restaurant and history) was a bit slower than Cabo but we/kids could get there easily for more action. The hotel staff is great and in particular, a shout out to Lily. What a great spirit. The food was […] surprisingly good (even my picky eaters were good). This is our first resort/all inclusive experience. Some have said this hotel is small in comparison to others, with more options, but we were very happy! Felt safe, taken care of, beautiful beach, etc. Will definitely return. Easy travel from Denver. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"It was a great stay!"
This was my first trip to Mexico and it was a great time! I believe for the money, the Royal Decameron was a great deal! And the staff were all very friendly and most helpful. I will certainly consider going back to the Royal Decameron for my next Mexican vacation!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a nice all-inclusive to stay for a few days. It is relatively small compared to other mega-resorts. The food is great - in both the buffet restaurant as well as the formal dining restaurant. The pool is nice. Beach location is great. The only minus is that sometimes the boisterous party in the common area in front of the rooms can be a bit […] loud at night. We didn't mind it though. "Great place for a getaway"
Really enjoyed my stay, wish it could have been longer. Wifi worked well in the rooms, food was good with plenty of vegetarian options, staff was extremely friendly and kind.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had an amazing time, just highly disappointed that the pool and jacuzzi closed so early at 7pm. And the jacuzzi water is no warmer than the pool, which was just too cold to have fun. And the beach isn't swimable either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The best reflection trip ever!"
I went to Cabo to celebrate my bday and to reflect about life. Everybody made feel very welcomed and special. Carlos, Zenon, Liliana, Enrique, Bruno , Cruz, Angel, Mauricio, and Nestor. I did not want to leave , but I had to leave; however, Lala stayed with them!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, clean, and friendly."
We enjoy this hotel very much, it is very clean and everyone is helpful and friendly. It being small makes getting chairs, drinks, and a table really easy. The only things we wish they would improve is more food variety and improve their activities. They did have some, but no volleyball, which is usually always pretty well supported.Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect stay from start to finish:)..loved how it was a smaller hotel where you didn't need to fight for chairs at pools, beach, bars or,anywhere for that matter. It was a beautiful piece of paradise. Sunrise was particularly beautiful. Food was great and you were close to everything! Easy walk to San Jose del cabo - (cute church there..shopping lil […] old Mexican to end- had a taco at Claros- so good)- supermarket, starbucks for free wifi, and bus line to cabo san Lucas (where you can see the arch and beautiful rock formations-a must see in my opinion- once at Martina- take water taxi)- they will drop you off and pick you up when you'd like- we stayed an hour and a half-- go in the am). At the hotel, the staff were friendly and fun,(not as obnoxious as other places.).. They had good suggestions as what to do/see close-by and at the hotel they offered activities, which were just right in number and variety as you really just want to chill there and take in the gorgeous surroundings. Almost forgot--the drinks- they were fantastic- you could tell them exactly what you wanted...& the wine in Luna was good. (Loved that lil restaurant- ate there every night and day for lunch.) "Great all inclusive hotel on the beach."
We booked into this hotel not knowing how great it would be when we decided we wanted to stay a few more days in San Jose Del Cabo. We knew immediately upon arriving we were in for a good time when we saw the fun decor and spoke to the very friendly front desk people. Everything was excellent including the fabulous dining experiences, the beautiful […] beach, the great pools, our room, the night life, the wines and any drinks we chose, the friendly and helpful staff, the totally upbeat vibe, the cleanliness, everything. We certainly are planning another trip there this year! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel Working Hard to Recover from Odile"
We booked this hotel just 3 weeks before our trip and got a great deal on it. It had just opened 3 weeks before we arrived and many of the resorts around were still closed. The resort had plenty of activities during both the day and night and was all inclusive so we hardly left. We enjoyed dancing lessons in the mornings and a couple nights we were […] there they had live music. The buffet food was good, but not a good as the resort we had been at last year. They had their food service open long hours which was helpful because we never felt like we'd miss a meal. There were numerous bars on site and some people seemed to drink all day. If you're a family who is concerned about having their kids around alcohol--this isn't the place to go. A couple times during evening entertainment there were drunk people making distracting scenes and we were woken up a couple nights by noisy intoxicated people. Also very un-family friendly is the naked art throughout the hotel left over from the previous resort there. Another draw back was that there were no designated smoking areas so I felt like I inhaled a lot of cigarette smoke while there. The sand volleyball court is not yet open due to glass in the sand from the hurricane which was a disappointment, however, the staff have clearly been hard at work to get things looking good and functional again. Overall, we did enjoy this resort but felt it had a couple things to improve on. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"You get what you pay for and I would go/pay again!"
We had a fun 4 days here, over a weekend. I loved the size of the resort, it wasn't a gigantic high rise yet had most of the amenities. The entertainment staff was so fun, especially Lianna (sp?!). We couldn't tell if the resort was still recovering from the hurricane but they often ran out of things and some things weren't working (jets/heat in the […] hot tub pool). There could have been a bit more variety to the buffet menu, pasta bar for lunch AND dinner every night was a bit much, how about a burrito bar or more Mexican basics/favorites? The non-buffet restaurant (Luna) had better food but the service was incredibly slow. There were daily spa specials and I enjoyed a 50 min massage on the beach for only $50 and the spa change-rooms were so nice with robes in your locker. The rooms were a good size but the bed sheets need more fabric softener and less starch. The walls were very thin so any conversations in the hall were like they were happening in your room. They also provide and restock water, soda and beer in a fridge in your room! So if you're looking for quiet and peaceful luxury, this isn't your place, but if you want fun and value for your money, look no further. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Well Done For Small Resort"
This resort is very small. We have stayed at the best resorts that Playa Del Carmen has to offer (Azul, Royal, etc) and this resort has its positives over them. Positives: Small, everything is close and easy to get to, staff is very nice, helpful, and friendly, TWO pool bars with one of them in a hot tub (big plus), food is great at all places serving […] food, great beach with plenty of room on either side of the resort to walk along the beach Negatives: Being small means that the entertainment and bar area that will go into the night after you may want to go to bed and they will keep you up, by default you get cheap alcohol - ask for the good stuff, work out room somewhat lacking and smelly, at times bartenders (usually one) has more people wanting drinks than he/she can handle resulting in long waits for drinks Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would like to go back sometime"
After a devastating hurricane the place was in wonderful shape. We could not have asked for anything more. The view was fantastic. The staff all did the best to make your stay wonderful. The nightly entertainment was a big part of the stay to look forward to. It was an amazing sight to see the beach transformed into the New Years area. This is where […] the celebration took place. All this on the beach. Food, dining chairs and tables, band and stage, dance floor, DJ, vidieo screen, bar, beach camp fires, lounge sofas, shows on stilts, fire show, fire works, waiters, fountain, heaters. Wow what a party. The ease of getting a bus to got to town 20 miles away. Or walking into the local town. Don't miss out seeing the mission. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I stayed at the Royal Decameron for 5 days with my mom and cousin. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Food and alcohol was always available and delicious. "Low quality food antiquated wifi system"
The hotel location is great and it's very clean with friendly staff . The wifi system is archaic they make you pay and sign up it's a difficult slow process at the front desk and only runs one device at a time making it impossible for me to work . The food had limited healthy choices so I ate out .Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A great family hotel with a touch of style"
The staff and the beautiful grounds are what makes this hotel stand out. It has a great design for the public areas, and they are immaculately maintained. Several of the staff members really work hard to make sure the stay is positive, fun and relaxing. We are a family of four and it worked really well for us!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had an amazing time at this resort! The staff was incredibly helpful and accomodating. The pool area and adult section were beautiful and well staffed. "Nice location but old noisy limited all inclusive"
Understandable they went through hurricane but these guys should not open until everything is in order, elevator, Jacuzzi, and sometimes pool heaters not working, the reason was hurricane. Seniors beware if you have walking and stair issues, layout is weird and with no elevator its rough. They need 2 more elevators in middle of each sides of the two […] buildings. This place is the Travelodge of all inclusives, its more like a lower end resort. BUT the employees DO try to help as much as they can ITS NOT their fault the place is such, ownership and management who don't actually run the place probably are to blame for limitations and lack of great experience. Employees were good. Beach was great, food was limited and blah. Drinks and liquor choices okay. No room service, room safes and wifi (not great,ok) have daily cost. Great location since everything was near by in San Jose del Cabo. Mega store and shopping across, local bus for town just flag em down for $1 each way 5-10 min ride. Cabo San Lucas bus ride $3 each way across Mega but ask someone in Mega where it is since the stop is not really marked. Noisy every night from 9 - 11 then depends on the crowd partying outside, not friendly for people with families and older people who need rest. Who is rating this place so high??? Its the first time partiers who've never been on vacation or those never been to a better place to compare against. "Great for couples or a family vacation"
A great all inclusive resort for a great price. The rooms were comfortable and the food was good. Luna, the restaurant, is worth eating at every night. The buffet was always stocked with delicious, quick meal-worthy food. The snack bar could use some help. It was not quality food and I wouldn't consider anything on the menu a "snack". I went with my […] boyfriend for a Christmas vacation but it is also great as a family resort. The hotels surrounding the resort were shut down due to hurricane damage so the beaches were nice and quiet. This resort is north of Cabo and a cab to town is $35 one way. There are some shops within walking distance but the touristy shops are all in town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great deal for this place."
Fantastic deal. Buffet delicious. Little shows every night, yoga, spa, and activities. Wait staff in buffet was excellent, friendly, & worked really hard. Only negatives are that they "penny pinch" with weird things. Like they charge $3 a day to use the in room safe, only allow 6 items in in room fridge, & they should make wifi free atleast in the lobby. […] I wish they could get the huge hottub running right cause it was chilly...that could be really awesome. Also, the sauna & steam room was not working in the spa. Considering they got hit by a hurricaine a few months ago, they are doing really well! Will definitely go back! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Post Hurticane excellence"
We didn't know when we booked our trip on short notice but the Decameron was opening only 3 days before our arrival. The hurricane damage to the surrounding area was very evident with more than 50% of the beach front properties not open - a couple completely gone. The overall condition of the resort was very good. The spa and gym, which is the closest […] building to the ocean, was open but they were only doing massages out on the beach in specially built palapas. The buffet dining room was small and had fewer food choices than most all-inclusives we've been to but, the quality was good. The A La Carte evening dining room had a small and was good, not great. The afternoon snack bar was very good. Again a small menu but done well with a very good mix of foods. The rooms were your typical AI reort rooms. The bathroom area was done well and very clean. The bed was firm, a little too much for me but not as bed as some Mexican beds I've been on. In room television worked well and seemed to have a good lineup - didn't watch that much. Negatives: 1) fee to use the safe, about $25 for the week, 2) Wifi was $10 per day. There are 3 total pools on the property with swim up bars on all of them and staffed every day. The activities staff were great - had the opportunity to socialize with Uziel, Sinder and Lilliana - they were great! If your worried about the hurricane, don't be. There the staff was excellent, property looked great and we had a great time! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel was being repaired from the hurricane but everything was super clean and well tended. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms were nice and clean. The shower was incredible. Great Food Great views Nice Staff Great air conditioning, beds. Beach close but no ocean swimming available. Suggest renting a car as we did to hit marinas and local beaches. "Great hotel with great staff"
The staff is so attentive. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with cool towels and a drink and the service was that way the entire time. There was a hurricane the last two days of our stay, but the staff still provided activities and options despite the weather. They also have great memories and will remember things such as the drinks you like. […] The food was good and there were a lot of options ( I just don't recommend the pizza). The only downside is that you can't take the food back to your room. Drinks can be taken anywhere though. The room was clean and had a great air conditioner, but the beds could be a little softer. The private beach was nice and since it was the "off season" we were always able to get a cabana in the front. There are guys constantly selling things on the public beach and will camp out right where the public and private beaches meet, but were good about leaving you alone after you said no. The pools have swim up bars and the bartenders were pretty knowledgeable about whatever drink you ordered. They only carry 2 beers, but have every liquor you could want. Our last day, we had about 4 hours between checkout and needing to go to the airport, but we were able to stay at the resort and eat and drink as if we were still paying for a room. Had there not been a hurricane, we could have used the other amenities as well and even showered if we wanted to. We had a wonderful experience and have already talked about heading back next year! "Very nice resort/good location/San Jose del Cabo"
First thing to know is this resort is in San Jose del Cabo not Cabo San Lucas. At first we were kinda bummed about this but then ended up liking the low key area better. When you go shopping through the town streets, the local shop owners don't bug the immortal heck out of you like they do in Cabo San Lucas! The taxi ride to & from is about 20 min each […] way & costs a total of $80 u.s. Dollars. Royal de Cameron was a very nice resort. Clean rooms with white fluffy linens, nice size balconies for each room, decent ocean views, very nice grounds, swim up pool bar, very helpful & friendly staff. Most staff members speak pretty good English. Our only complaint was that during a slight rain storm due to a hurricane about 100 miles out we had a ceiling leak. The front desk was very nice to move us to another room, which meant we had to repack everything! We had a knock on the door & also a phone call telling us we needed to hurry that "we were taking FOREVER", which really ticked my husband off! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice calm resort. Great for the price!"
We stated here for 3 nights/days. Bellhop employees very helpful when we arrived and throughout our stay, especially Cruz. He helped us to our room and explained all the amenities to us. Front desk staff okay, could be a little friendlier. Pretty calm resort except for some large rowdy group. One got locked out of the room and banged on the door all […] night (our first night there) but you can't really blame that on the hotel. Food is pretty good, although it would be nice if they served more authentic Mexican food, since we are in Mexico. Buffet, restaurant, and bar tenders almost all very friendly, with the exception of one or two. Daniel in buffet restaurant very friendly. Facilities are pretty kept up, the pool area above the gym could use some work/updating. All pools close at 8 pm I believe. Would be nice if they are open later. Many nice lounge areas throughout the resort. Plenty of beach lounge chairs and shade. Nice little night club with good sound. Rooms are a good size, clean, and have good working AC. Beds a little hard, not as comfortable as I am used to. One thing I didn't like too much is the glass see through door to the bathroom that didn't lock. All rooms have nice patio area with plenty of seating. Overall I would definatley recommend this hotel to others that want to get away and relax. Worth the money you pay. "Great budget hotel"
My girlfriend and myself stayed for 4 nights after mid-August. The hotel wasn't too packed, it seemed half-empty which was kinda nice. For the price this hotel is a great bargain. The quality is on par with the other all-inclusives I've stayed at. The hotel staff was very nice, there were a couple of bartenders that weren't super helpful but some of […] them were great. All the wait staff were friendly. There was plenty of stuff to do at the hotel with entertainment throughout the day and at night. The food was typical buffet/all-inclusive food. Their fancy restaurant, Luna, has small portions but you can order a full-course meal and the food is very reasonable for a budget all-inclusive. The rooms have a bed and couch inside which I felt made it comfortable but still had a lot of room. The bed was extra firm and it became hard to sleep on after a few nights. The mini-fridge is stocked with bottled water, soda, and beer which is a great perk. The hotel used to be part of the Temptations hotel chain, and it has a bit of swankiness to it. There is some artwork of topless women so if you're looking for a family hotel, you may want to consider that. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Decameron. Great /friendly service staff. After seeing a few negative reviews, we were a little apprehensive about our trip, BUT I can honestly say it was an amazing trip! From the minute we arrived we were greeted by happy, friendly staff! We arrived early so our rooms were not quite ready. Upon immediately receiving our wrist bands and encouraged to go have lunch or enjoy the pool, Jesus […] the manager(?) approached us and offered us an upgrade to the family suite with a beautiful ocean view. From there the vacation was even more perfect then expected. This is our 5th visit to Mexico with our three children- 22, 19 and 14, and our first visit to this resort. "Beautiful Place HORRIBLE FOOD and STAFF"
You get what you pay for. This place could be something so Great with just a few changes. Here are all the good things. The hotel is beautiful. Small intimate and beautiful views of the beach. They are located right across a big store called the MEGA which is basically like a walmart so if you need something you will find it there. There's also a starbucks […] Mcdonalds and subway etc. There is also a bus in front of the store that takes you all threw cabo even down the Marina for only 3 dollars. A cab will cost you 40 bucks one way. Save yourself the money. Now the down fall. The food is completely gross. I mean for lunch my favorite thing was a flour tortilla with very little cheese in it. (quesadilla) I'm usually not hard to please for food but there food was just plain bad. Now they do have a restaurant called the LUNA for dinner only that you have to make reservations for. The food there was yummy and we got to see the sunset. Probably my favorite thing of the hotel. The drinks are beyond watered down and they only serve tecate light as far as for beer. The staff for the most part is completely miserable and rude. There is a few nice ones here and there but everyone pretty much looks miserable. The pool closes at 8pm which totally sucks!!!!! especially since its always hot. If the food improved I would go back if not I wouldnt. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Best private resort in Cabo."
The Royal Decameron from arrival to departure was excellent in all areas. Jermaine, the night manager, immediately found us a room with double beds after they mistakenly booked us in a king bedroom. Then after our late night arrival he escorted us to the hotel bar/lounge which made us fresh pizzas and drinks. He was professionally accommodating to me […] and my travel roommate. Our room accommodations were very clean and had nice toiletries. The beds were amazingly comfortable and the sheets were starched to perfection. The bed comforters were cottony soft and pillows were plentiful, plump-like sleeping on clouds. The resort's atmosphere throughout was conducive to rest and relaxation. If entertainment and excitement is your desire, Royal Decameron provides that too. There are activities throughout the day in and around the swimming pools. The activities staff (Daniel, Jennifer, Lupita, and Charlie) were full of life, fun, creative, and personable.
