"Totally Fine, if You Have No Luggage"
Pros: very comfy bed, easy to have guests (no key required for elevator, no lobby awkwardness), 24 hour gym, with several dumbells, no machines Cons: not the best location, not too bad either, Whole Foods within 4 blocks, ABSOLUTELY NO ROOM FOR ANY LUGGAGE. Room isn't THAT small but the way its set up, theres no room for a suitcase.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent hotel for the area"
Staff was a bit cold and standoffish, had to wait quite a bit to check in. Rooms are very decent and MUCH quieter than the ones at the Doubletree in Midtown- no 1-inch gap beneath the door letting all the noise in. The restaurant in the lobby is overpriced and not very good, I would recommend eating at any of the fantastic little eateries nearby- you'd […] still save money. Breakfast there is not worth it, but it was nice having a coffeemaker in the room. No minifridge though, which would have been helpful. Be prepared for long waits at the elevator... it is always overcrowded at peak times, which is the only reason I would consider getting a room on a lower floor (you can take the stairs). The one thing that made this hotel worth it? Free wifi. Doubletrees are known for charging $14.99 a day for in-room wireless, and in this case it was free everywhere in the hotel. Definitely makes everything else bearable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"too narrow, but convenient"
The room space is very very limitted. And one of the bedstead is beyond the mattress, it hurt us everyone's feet. But it is near to Empire state building and macy's. It is convenient for trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
I needed somewhere that was close to the subway, central to the city and centered for my friends. The hotel was perfect! Very easy to get around to everyone and super comfortable. The staff was friendly and they made my day on my arrival with the warm cookie Double Tree gives their guests as that was my first meal type item I had a chance to eat which […] was so appreciated. I was then able to unpack and finally grab a true meal just after. My room attendant was lovely and made sure I had lots of coffee and milk for both the morning and afternoon. "Close to but not close to time square"
Welcome cookies on arrival. Shame they didn't do more than just chocolate and hazelnut ones as I couldn't eat them, but the family enjoyed them. Clean room with nice view. Staff were friendly and helpfulGenuine Expedia guest review
Best hotel beds ever! Easy check in. Probably the cheapest parking in NYC at $25/night. Love the location. Easy in/easy out of NYCGenuine Expedia guest review
"Had a ball"
I love the hotel, me my guess was very satisfied with our stay, my room could have been a little bit bigger, but other than that "EVERYTHING WAS GREAT" and I do mean, "EVERYTHING". I will be back in New York in November and guess where I'm be staying?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice cozy hotel"
Nice smaller hotel. Had a very pleasant stay. Room was on the small side for four people but was clean and had all the amenities we needed. Parking was very convenient across the street and you get a good deal on the parking - just make sure you get your parking pass validated by the hotel for a discount. We were looking to be close to FIT (only a block […] away) but found it was also a very easy walk to Times Square, Empire State Building, Retail shops, etc. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Disappointed experience on the quality of the room"
The room I stayed had a bad smell. I should have brought it up to the front desk after entering the room. The carpet was torn and dirty, which is actually ok, if there is no bad odor. According to the front desk, this is a 4 year old property, but based on the quality of the carpet, I seriously doubt this is 4 year old. The second issue is the WiFi. […] The connection was constantly disrupted. It is hard to get any work done without going back to the setup to reconnect the WiFi. Based on these two reasons, I recommend you avoiding to stay in the property. If you still want to, maybe because of the price, I suggest you to check the room first before un-packing. The final note: the front desk was actually very friendly. When I complaint about the smell of my room, the front desk lady gave me two free breakfast coupon. They did try to fix the problem, unfortunately, free breakfast cannot really solve the bad experience. I would prefer to pay more to stay in a cleaner (fresher) property. "Pretty good NYC hotel"
The rooms are very small but comfortable and clean. Hotel is well-located near Penn Station and where inter-city busses drop off and pick up. There was a musty odor - as if dirty, sweaty clothes had been left out in the room. But that cleared up after awhile (or perhaps we got used to it).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I have stayed at this hotel before and will stay here again when I am in the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We checked in and were greeted and treated very well. We had a room up-grade when we checked in, our room had a great view of the One World Trade Center from our room on the 26th floor. On our last day, the General Manager helped us load our luggage into the car. We would definitely return to this hotel on our next trip into New York.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Service Is everything!!!"
Checked in at 2am on 8/3/13 and discovered that the bed sheet was stained with what appeared to be blood. Was too tired from traveling on the Mega bus to complain at that time so we slept on top of the covers. Next morning we went down to the front desk and was given another room but, there was no offer to help us move from one room to the other. So, […] we rushed to move our belongings so we could make it to an appt. but in haste, left a couple things behind that we didn't realize until later that night when we returned to the hotel. Well, this is where the service went downhill. Housekeeping never turned in the items, never returned a call to the front desk or respond to the message I was told to leave on their voicemail. One of the items left behind was the cord to my laptop so I did not want to leave without it. Since the younger of the 2 ladies at the front desk seemed inexperienced and the other refused to call the new occupants of the room as I suggested ,so I took it upon myself to contact the new occupants of the room by leaving a polite but detailed voicemail explaining the situation and they responded later that evening. She was very nice and told me that at first she didn't see the cord plugged into the desktop lamp as I had left it, but she went a step further and looked under the table and there was my cord lying on the floor. This means that instead of reporting the item or turning it in, the cleaning lady unplugged it and just threw it to the floor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel - Internet Not so great :-("
Like this hotel, but the In room wireless is awful. I stay here a lot and am always frustrated with the internet connection. It drops every 5 minutes. Elevators are very slow and I wait a long time for it to come.. Otherwise, rooms are clean and nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I live fairly close to NYC and stay in the city often when my friends and I go out to party! I was here for a bachelorette party and found it to be a great experience! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms was nice and clean. Small, but expected for NYC! I would definitely stay here again for the price that I paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Doubletree Hotel by Hilton-New York City-Chelsea"
We were disappointed in the size of the rooms. Rooms were not ready at check-in time. The elevators are small and were very congested. Our rooms were on the seventh floor. Wait time was significant and we used the stairs a few times. Hotel lobby is small and was always very crowded with guests who were checking in or out. Self-parking is contracted […] with a parking garage accross the street which is very expensive-$25 every time you check the car out. Moreover, self-parking is to the main entrance to the garage and then they park the car for you. This was very confusing to say the least even for New York City. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice room for affordable price"
I brought my kids to NYC for a overnight and was pleasantly surprised by this nice hotel. Street to get to hotel is a little iffy but once inside you feel very comfortable. Only 1 of my 2 rooms were initally ready but we received nice warm cookies when checking in to both rooms. Close access to time square.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel near Penn Station"

"A New York Experience at its Best!"
OH EM GEE! I don't even know where to begin. First of all, location, location, location. We literally walked three short blocks from Penn Station to the hotel with no problem, check in was quick and easy. The staff was SUPER friendly and welcoming. I loved that it is situated in the middle of the block and off the beaten path. Close to everything, subway, […] grocer, Macy's Herald Square. Not sure if I would ever stay anywhere else while in NYC. Also, "Edgar the Engineer" is a keeper. Very, very nice, knowledgeable and accommodating. I could go on & on, but this is where you can experience the true feeling of the city. The Empire State Building view from our room was spectacular. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Business Trip One Night Stay"
The room was just big enough for the size of the bed. The smoke-free room had pillows that were clearly from a smoking room. Wallpaper was in shoddy shape and ceiling in bathroom & bedroom were peeling. The A/C unit though was excellent. At $350 this stay was a disappointment. During check-in the front desk gave me a warm cookie (nice touch) and a tepid […] bottle of water (another little disappointment after getting the heated-up treat). "Decent location, TINY rooms"
Location was good, close enough to times square and all attractions for the price we paid. However, the room was barely big enough to fit the beds in the room. Between 2 adults and 2 kids, the 4 of us could not stand up or walk around at the same time since we had to walk around the 1 ft of space between the furniture and beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Super clean, comfortable, close to public transit!"
This Doubletree was amazingly clean and the staff was awesome. The whole hotel smelled so clean and fresh; it was amazing. A nice touch was the carafes of citrus infused ice water in the lobby- perfect on those hot muggy afternoons. We came up for 4 days/nights to see some Yankee games and sight-see a bit for my Dad's birthday. The D train to the Bronx […] is literally 5 blocks north, super easy to get to Yankee Stadium. Times Square and all the Broadway theatres are really close. Easy cab ride down to the Village/Little Italy etc. Again, the 34th St subway stop is 5 blocks and takes you pretty much everywhere. This was the perfect hotel. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to NYC. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very friendly and helpful staff"
Conveniently located near Penn Station. Rooms are a standard NYC hotel size.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had to keep calling to front desk for the simplest of issues. No toilet paper, room door would not close, no blankets. They responded relatively fast, but it is just a hassle for the amount we paid. "Great Location, Great Staff"
THis is a good hotel! The staff is super welcoming and the rooms are comfortable. Wish they had a mini fridge though. WOrst part is by far the Internet in the rooms. Every time I stay here I have terrible wireless internet service. I guess that is because it is free!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I'd definitely stay here again"
The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. When I detected an odor of old cigarette smoke in my first room (I learned hat it had been converted from a smoking to non-smoking room), I was immediately offered a new room, one that had never been a smoking room, along with an apology, a bottle of water, a coupon for a drink in the bar and another cookie […] - all done with a smile.
