The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

"cleanliness"
for the same price i got a cleaner room in holiday inn airport, shower had mildew, room didn't smelled fresh, bathroom toiletries didn't smell good, the speed bumps near the parking area are very large and hard to see at night-they need to be painted
The hotel was hard to find at night. The sign on #520 was not lite so we missed it at first. The hotel building is at the back of a big parking lot and it does not look very inviting. We were lucky to find a spot. The area did not feel very safe to us. We would not have gone out on foot at night and there was nothing around. It was just our feeling. But, […] the room was VERY clean, large, refurbished and very confortable. The rest of the hotel would need some work to update it a little. The walls are poorly insolated so it was pretty noisy during the night. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpfull. They even suggested that we ordered food in the room rather than go out somewhere. They had 5-6 take-out menus for the guests. We had food within 40 minutes. "musty unpleasent smell"
No air in the room. Musty and funky smelling. Did not enjoy the stay. Bed was hard like the sidewalk

"Canada Vacation"
I am not from Montreal. It was very difficult to find the place. They are remodeling the place. Does not look to good at all but it was convenient. We were 4 and there were 2 towels. I had to request some more. The price was ok, considering that included breakfast. Once the remodeling end it should be ok. Just get help with direction if you are not […] coming from the Airport. "Hotel is all the way in the parking lot"
When I saw the big orange sign of the hotel on roadside and turn into the parking lot, the building there is NOT the hotel. You have to look for another sign at the end of the long parking lot, then go all the way in.

"Not clean, but not gross."
The room was mostly clean, except there was a hair on one of the towels. Did the hair survive a rigorous wash cycle, or is the wash cycle rigorous at all? Did it get washed? Do the cleaning staff often lose hair while they work? A yes to any of these would bother me at least a bit. Bed was comfy (and clean, from what I could tell), room was a good […] temperature, couldn't hear the nearby airport... I wouldn't recommend the place, but I wouldn't tell someone to stay away. "Econo Lodge Aeroport in Montreal - A Nightmare"
I will never return to this hotel, the information that hotels.ca provided are out of date and very innaccurate about the place, which I'm guessing is on econo lodge's part because if they updated there info no one would go. I checked in to find that there was only 1 playpen for the whole hotel, so if 2 families were to check in at the same time oh […] well to one of the families. The airconditioning was broken all though it did keep making a buzzing noise all night. The ice machine was broken, but if you wanted something hot to drink in 40degree weather the coffee machine was in perfect order. There are windows but none of which that open because even though they state they are a hotel they are in fact a closed in motel. My suggestion to anyone who would like to stay here... DON'T!!! go anywhere else, there are plenty of hotels that are along the highway when you leave the airport and are trying to find this place (which is actually on the opposite side of the highway heading towards the airport and way behind some bbq joint). no ventilation in the windowless bath room. dryer out of order thus preventing (much needed) use of washing machine. the night clerk was very sympathetic though an helpful.

"Dingy and cheap"
The maid did not finish vacuuming my room so the carpets were a little dirty. The curtains had to be closed securely otherwise everyone passing by could see inside the room. However, the staff was friendly. This is a good place to stay for the night and nothing more.

Well, needless to say, I thought that the Econo Lodge was going to be a place with a bed and low in cost, but to my great suprise it was way more. It has a really nice and homey feeling to it. The rooms are large. The staff is so helpful, particularly Alisha. Alisha helped me to straighten out my reservation when I mixed up by days and she helped me […] to find my way around. The cleaning lady came by and personally checked to see if me and my family need anything. They have a very open common space, which is great for kids to run up and down and a bar for the adults who don't want to drink and drive. hard to access if you are traveling east on 520, be sure you are traveling in the right direction on 520 - if you are traveling west the sign is immediately after the exit, enter the parking lots and go thru to the next street.

very picturesque and in the winter i am sure a fine and cozy place with wide open windows to watch the snow fall but there did not seem to be any way to air condition the room - so i would not make recommendation for a summer place. service - excellent. large and well known restaurant just next door!

Cons:- old hotel building and rooms, surrounding neighborhood is bleak Pros:- close to airport. budget rates and good value for the money. I knew the above going into my stay and so was satisfied with the experience. But what made me unhappy was that I called ahead and I was told a refrigerator would be included in my room rate since I was staying […] several nights. But when I reached there, there was an additional amount per night quoted and the lady "graciously" offered me a discount on the quote. Very decently equipped room, shampoo, body cream and shower cap provided, breakfast included, (no yogurt but bread, cereals milk, juice and croissants). No doubt good value for money!
"Very cheap hotel"
We could not regulate temperature in the room and it was extremely cold inside. The bad was completely uncomfortable and breakfast was a joke. Unless you don't have other options - do not go there

It is okay for overnight, but would not want to stay there any longer than that. Room was on second floor, no elevator and narrow stairway

the only thing it has going for it is that its close to the airport. if you are only staying one night then its a good value, but i wouldnt stay longer.

Hotel was very hard to find: set back from road and not visible from road. Very basic hotel. No elevator so had to drag bags upstairs. Staff very nice. Bed comfortable, room and bathroom clean. Breakfast included.
Don't even bother. The hotel was very dated and the walls paper thin. Spend the extra $ for a closer hotel to the airport because the taxi fare was $20.00.

It was an ibteresting stay from the first encounter with the front desk. A very nice lady who was obviously stressed from the day. While waiting the phone rang and she blasted the caller for not listening to her. Maybe he was not from here as he was waiting for a shuttle at the airport. The room was ok as it is a discount name. But it really needs the […] ac/heater fixed. we finally closed it and suffered the cold all night rather then the freezing it was doing even with adjustments to the thermostate and the fan. Breakfast is another drill as there were not even the right cutlery (knife)available to spread the jam. When the time was up..9.30 . a hand came in the room and the light was flicked off without even a face to smile.All the guests looked at each other and a shrug was given with a weak smile amongst us. Anyways, one time there in a lifetime is ok. I will never return to this location. Rather pay a few bucks more and have a better feeling with my stay. Read more

"what you get with your money"
Hotel is ok ,It's not so bad . Key was not working ,we had to get the key from deck to open our room every time when we went back our room ...So if you travel and want have a room to stay ,it's ok

Price is right. Airconditioning works well. Breakfast included is an addd bonus and adequate for a quick bite before the shuttle takes you to the airport. MAke sure you reserve the night before because it can fill up quickly. Friendly people, accomodating and convenient.

We stayed in this hotel only one night and it was the worst experience we've ever had. There was no A/C in the hallway; however, A/C in the room was full blast and we had to call the technician to fix it as there was no thermostat in the room to regulate the room temperature. There was no light in the bathroom and this also had to be fixed by the technician. […] The door of the room did not open when we tried to access the room so we had to call the reception desk for assistance. They apparantly painted the door a few days prior. Most of all the room smelled so badly that we couldn't even eat or sleep during the night. It made me gag. We're glad it was only one night. For anyone who is planning to make reservations there, DON'T. You'll be very dissappointed. Read more
