The Corus was a good value for the money - especially after walking into some of the other private hotels in the area....the room was clean and spacious by European standards. The towels were a little worn as was the carpet and the upholstered furniture - but the bed had crisp linens and the bath was very clean. With little time spent in the room, I would consider staying there again for the price.

"Very basic."
on first entering the hotel all seemed well. when we were shown to our room. ( 4 bed family room ) we were took downstairs into the basement. Our room was next to the breakfast room & kitchen. IThe room was very basic to say the least. The only window looked out onto a wall that was only about 1foot away, so no daylight could enter.Plus, there was a […] load of rubbish that had been thrown down this gap. The beds were ok comfort wise, but we were woke very early by the noise of the kitchen staff preparing breakfast. Breakfast, now thats another thing...They didnt know how to make a cup of tea. we were served a muddy coloured none discript tastless liquid called tea. The food was eatable, but they tried to serve us loads of fruit that had been laid out on a table in the hallway all the previous day & night. OK, it is a budget hotel so dont expect too much.I Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"OK for a budget hotel"
The room was clean, but very small, which is normal for London. The hotel is very dated. The mattress was a bit worn and slightly uncomfortable. There was supposted to be internet avaiable in the lobby, but it was not working the night I was staying. Overall it is OK for a budget hotel in London.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The worst!!!"
The worst hotel I have ever been!! Impossible to use shower! No sound proof at all! You can hear everything from next room. No service!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for Earls Court events"
Me and three friends had booked a four bedroom room from St Simeons to go to the Eurogamer Expo at Earls Court. When we arrived we were informed that our room was undergoing maintenance but were more than happy to split us to two rooms for no extra charge. This turned out to be very useful as the one room would have had only one bathroom. We were on […] a budget and we were very happy with what we got for our money. The rooms were basic but not bad at all. The location was perfect as it is just a short walk to Earls Court and an even shorter walk to the nearest tube which takes straight into the heart of London. If I had wanted to spend more time sightseeing I may still pick this hotel due to the area being very safe. Overall had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this to anyone wanting to go to London and to Earls Court. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Helpful staff, good location and transport"
I lived in London for years knowing accomodation standard well,it didn't come as suprise the size of the room or the bed. at the same time we were going there just for a weekend, knowing we'd spend very little time in the room so it being small didn't bother us. bathroom was clean, shower super (great pressure, for London it's a wov!!! we were on ground […] floor though) staff is very helpful (although not much of smiley people), nice and willing to give you help with your stay (direction, suggestion etc); breakfast is huge and could sure fill you up for the whole morning. TV works fine with plenty of channels (no fancy stuff but can find good movies) dining room has TV and we used it for chat and drinks once back from our evening out. location is pretty good, close to the tube and a huge Sainsburys (supermarket),many places to eat nearby (head towards the tube or towards Earl's court) including pubs for a drink. if you are a "big" person be careful, our double bed was more like a big single one, not much of a problem for us but i know that many of the USA ppl visiting and writing on here might find it uncomfortable. I would just ask to renew the bath towel stock, some of them have clearly been washed too many times and are like sandpaper on your body. same with the pillows and the floor carpet, they've seen better days. this are small details, overall we enjoyed the place and we will sure consider it for our next weekend in London to see our friends. "Excellent base for sightseeing young family."
We arrived to a warm welcome and were given a spacious room on 2 levels for our family of 5. The beds were very comfortable and clean . Although there wasn't a shower curtain, the bathroom was adequate and spotless. We stayed one night and enjoyed the breakfast!! Lots and lots to eat, served by very helpful staff who bring you a wide choice of food […] including every fruit imaginable! The hotel is literally around the corner from the Natural History Museum which was fantastic. Also the hotel was so easy to get to from the tube. We would definitely stay again. "Hotel rooms very dirty, smelly and unhygenic"
(a)Firstly hotel never seems to have cleaned, specially the carpets very unhygenic and rooms quite smelly. (b) Hotel reception manned for only around 16 hours, rest of the time you have to stand at reception and wait or shout till somebody comes there. (c) While checking in the reception guy would ask you that do you need shampoo and soap and if you […] say yes than he would take it out from shelf as if they are doing some favour to you. "Very good location and friendly staff"
Hotel is in a very good southwestern portion of London. Easily walkable to tube stations within 5 minutes. Staff is excellent and very friendly. Breakfast is also very good with a full english breakfast and a lot of fruit to choose from. The rooms are a bit smallish, but are clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great breakfast options/especially for vegetarians"
The hotel is in a very good location, friendly staff and that unique aspect at breakfast and in the lobby, fruit, fruit, fruit. At breakfast today, there was Pineapple, cherry's, apples, bananas, papaya, avocado and mangos. They also have a full English breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel base for West/central London"
A good base in an excellent area of London. Felt very safe walking about late at night. Handy for Gloucestor Road tube (5 min walk) and a number of resturants, cafes etc. A further 10 minute walk and you have South Kensington. V&A, Nat History & Science museums 10 min walk. Kings Road - 15 mins walk. Room we had was ok. Beds comfortable enough. Other […] furniture and en-suite dated but useable. Ensuite had a bath with a hand shower. We were in an attic room, therefore coombed ceiling which was an annoyance. TV signal not great. This is not the Ritz but if you are in London to see the city, shop, etc. you don't need (or want to pay) for extra facilities. Its a good solid base. Breakfasts are 'eat as much as you want'. Fare ok. Lots of fruit. Staff are very helpful and friendly. You can leave your bags safely both on an early arrival and after checking out. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location"
Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was always huge and delicious. This hotel had a great location. Very close to the tube station and not too far from the Natural History Museum (a must see for families and it's free!) "good budget hotel"
A very basic hotel, clean, polite staff, nice area, short walk to underground. The breakfast was not great. All in all a good budget hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
staff was helpful and friendly, the breakfast food was plentiful if dull. The orange juice wasn't orange but more like fruit punch. The slowly rotting fruit on open display should be refrigerated instead, The room was small and cramped but you get what you pay for.The bedding was basic, more like that found in construction camps. There was a rowdy disturbance […] that went on and on overnight but no staff to intervene so the other guests protested till the noise abated, St.Simeon should come back; his hotel could use a miracle. "Stay at St Simeon"
The only advantage is the convenience to the tube station. The room was cold and not comfortable and clean. Internet was not available and was told because we were on the top floor. Also the dining room was not clean. Juices were not covered and were served the next day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, great staff, poor faciliites."
I would recommend this hotel for its location and friendly staff, however the accomodation standards are poor. If you are visiting London for a couple of days, are on a budget and don't mind hostel-type accomodation and don't intend to spend much time in the hotel, it will be fine. Pros: 1. Close to Gloucester Road tube station, Picadilly and Circle […] Lines. Only one tube ride home from West End. 2. Located in Knightsbridge, a very safe area 3. Can use the kitchen facilities including microwave, kettle etc (expect when breakfast is being prepared by the staff) 4. Exceptionally friendly and attentive staff 5. Very cheap for the area! 6. My daughter and I were upgraded from a double to a triple room at no extra cost. 7. The other travellers we met were all very friendly. Cons: 1. The room smelt damp 2. The single bed was so lumpy that my daughter and I shared the double bed. This was our original plan as we had only booked a double room so we weren't upset by this. 3. The room desperately needed a refurb - the toilet cistern lid was broken; the wooden veneer on the tv stand/cupboard was warped stood a couple of inches above the the top it was supposed to be attached to; and although the bathroom was clean, it had black mould growing in the corners. 4.There was no hot water in the mornings for a shower. Evenings seemed to be OK. 5. One of the plug sockets didn't work. 6. The curtains were too small for the window. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"St Siemon"
The hotel was conveniently placed for tubes & busses, but the room was VERY small, & had no tea making facilities. The dinning room was also , very small, & cramped, even down to the size of the tables.Tea & coffee , served for breakfast, was usually only warm.If you had cerial, they didnt wait for you to finnish them before bringing the cooked English […] breakfast, which was of poor quality food, and left you juggleing to find space to put it.There was plenty of fruit to be consumed, but there again, either the bannanas were 1/2 black, apples & pears small, and like as if picked off orchard floor, with scabs etc on them. One evenning, we went to the kitchen to make tea, as we were told we could, on going in the fridge for milk, the bottom shelves of the fridge were running with blood & juice , off the bacon.Sorry, not the sort of place we would frequent again, or recomend. "Decent little west London hotel"
This is a decent, clean and basic hotel in a very desirable part of west London. One should not stay here expecting luxury accommodation or they will be disappointed. Friendly reception on arrival. We had quiet twin room at top rear of house in attic which had super velux swinging roof window which gave maximum ventilaltion and good views of neighbourhood.Only 1 bed had view of TV which was not a major hassle. But oh boy ! the bathroom -Our broom closet at home is bigger! Impossible to stand upright in shower due to […] sloping roof. But extremely clean throughout.Breakfast was a delight with endless supplies of food on request and even your ma would not try harder to get you to eat fruit! Located in a most pleasant area of London (South Kensington) we found this hotel to be ideal for our two night stay in London. "Do not recommend"
We booked this hotel based on our knowledge of the area (we have stayed in Earl's Court many times), the description and the price. It was a little bit more expensive that our normal hotels which we could not get a booking at - so I expected it to be a little nicer (most hotels in this area are old, a little run down with small rooms). I was very wrong. We […] arrived and found the reception desk was not manned (we had to find the person downstairs - who was a very helpful and nice person). Our room was not ready so he suggested we wait in the dining area until the room was ready - we were confused to find plates of rotten fruit around the room, the tables had not been cleaned since breakfast (it was around 1pm) and were covered with stains and food. We became concerned about this presentation and the quality of the breakfast offered - why would you have clearly rotten fruit displayed! Our room was ready so we went upstairs - the room was tiny (and we know the rooms in this area are normally small). The ensuite bathroom was very small and did not even have a shower (just one of those hand held shower heads without a shower curtain. A very old TV was perched on a stool. There was no phone or any other facilities. After arriving from the flight from NZ we needed a shower and a nice experience. At this point we decided to leave the hotel and find somewhere else to stay - we have no hope of getting our money back but we were not staying here!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A good basic hotel for Sightseer"
The St Simeon staff were courteous and very helpful. The breakfast provided was very adequate , though it had the odd quirk. The room was basic. Just a room with a bed, shower and toilet. By american standards, this hotel might be considered a bit spartan, but the owner and his staff are the best. The hotel's clientele are worldwide, and of every type imaginable, which leads to discourse on a variety of subjects. The hotel's location is a short walk from many museums and transport,in an upscale area, and is a wonderful place for an extrovert […] to be.If you feel the need to be at the Hyatt, go there, and don't take up a space that could benefit someone interesting. If you wish to be warmly welcomed into a small community of travelers from everywhere, this is your place to go.John and his staff will do more for you than you can imagine in order to make your stay interesting, and I guarantee you will meet "regular" people from places in the world you only see on the news.I have traveled the world for more than half a century, and became acquainted with more folks in a week that were interesting, than ever before. Again,go there for who you will meet, and how easy it is to navigate around London from there, not for the luxury. If you do not have an interesting stay,it is likely you are in need of a personality adjustment. I will return as soon as is possible,as it is interesting [although not perfect], Most people there were people who always stay there when in London, and there are reasons for this not of a financial nature. If you aren't rude you will feel welcome, and can learn more about the world from people who actually live in it,than is conceivable. It was great fun and any shortfalls you experience, will be minor, when compared to the benefits you will gain from the experience,if you choose to participate.
