"Nice Hotel but noisey"
Positive points : hotel staff very friendly, room clean, hotel nice, good breakfast and in very good area Negative points : i booked a single room which was quite small which was not such a problem but the walls were not concrete or brick but articifially placed to create the max nr of rooms hence the room was very noisy - you could here every word or […] conversation of your neighbours and unfortunately mine were quite "active" and stayed out late and making quite a noise entering the room. Also you cannot open the window for some fresh air since the traffic will keep going until after midnight when things quiet down a bit. So nice hotel, good service, good area but room very small and noisy. I will not use this hotel again for a single room; double rooms may be better and less noisy. Not great. Torn carpet in bedroom. Electrical outlets hidden. Very small shower.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfectly fine for a short budget stay"
Not fancy, not perfect but for the price it was fine, better than I expected. Clean, got a good nights sleep and that's all I wanted. Didn't have time for breakfast, looked ok tho. Wouldn't want to stay more than one night but fine for a cheap stop over.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, lovely staff"
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location - beside museums, parks and playground, tour bus stops, and Tube stations - is excellent. Also felt safe to walk around the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
Decent hotel for price and location. For 2 adults and 3 children in one room this was idealGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great value and location!"
We came for 1 night for a sightseeing trip with our 3 kids. We found St Simeon to be a fantastic budget hotel within very close distance of tube travel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worst 'hotel' I have ever visited"
This is the worst establishment I have ever had the displeasure of visiting. Where do I begin? There wasn't even soap in the bathroom, or even a glass for drinking water. The curtains were ripped. The bedding was dirty. The front door of the hotel is left open 24 hours, which means random people can walk in at any time and wander around the hotel - […] not safe. I had 2 basic requirements for this stay: safe accommodation, and WI-FI internet connection so that I could coordinate meetings while in London on business. The internet did not work and was only available in the hotel lobby, not in my room on the 4th floor: so the room was advertised falsely as I did not get what I had paid for. Reception staff - when they could be found - did not care less about my problem, and just arrogantly said that the wi-fi was working on their iPad. Many other guests had the same problem. I had booked online for 2 nights, and within an hour of checking in I was already trying to find alternative accommodation to no avail - and the hotel also said I had no other options, as I had paid online. I have stayed in hostels that are easily more comfortable, professional, safer and more pleasant. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"No soap provided in rooms or a drinking glass"
Well, seems.more like a hostel than an hotel. The bathrooms have nothing in them, not a bar of soap nor a drinking glass. I think you can get these from reception, but really should you have to ask for these basics? The positives are: location, free cooked breakfast (average quality) and pleasant well-meaning front desk staff who told me that their guests […] tended to be European families who bring their own soap when they travel. I had to chucke at that! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location for Kensington area, Hyde Park and museums. Good value considering the area. Plenty of good value café and restaurants nearby. Staff were helpful and a good breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was tempted by the great location and reasonable price, but very much regretted this. The room was tiny and looked like a hostel. Then our water stopped working at 1am, leaving a very very uncomfortable night. Was told the water pipe broke that morning, but don't really believe it. Ended up having to shower in a next door hotel, and wasn't given any […] sort of recompense for the inconvenience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best Service in London"
St Simeon hotel deserves more than a 2-star hotel quality. The service is not matchable; no one rivals the price; the included breakfast is amazing; and it is located in a prime location, with a short walk from the underground. "A Very Pleasant and Friendly Place"
I came to the San Simeon after having a bad experience through Air BnB. The staff is so very kind and friendly, and because they could sense my distress, they offered to let me check into my room early so that I could shower and rest. The rooms are nothing fancy but they are clean, have private baths, TV and wireless internet. They also have a lift, […] which is not always the case in London. The full English breakfast is excellent and I was encouraged to take a piece or two of fruit for later. I would stay at the San Simeon again with no question, and recommend it to many of my friends who take the same approach to traveling that I do. Anyone who needs bells and whistles should look elsewhere, but they will pay a lot for unnecessary extras. Thank you for being there when I needed you, San Simeon! "Not bad hotel in a great location"
The big advantages of this hotel are the location and the kindness of the staff. Overall this is a very decent B&B at a fantastic price for London. I absolutely recommend it for short stays.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Friendly service building in poor condition"
Straff was friendly and helpful it felt like visiting a family in their home. But a poor home with lots of things not working or being in professional order. Staff and guests was walking in and out of kitchen. Furniture was old and in poor condition. Some staff hardly spoke English and food was the cheapest money can buy, but things were clean though. […] I guess it was more like a hostel at the another end of Europe. Lot's of laughable moments though so if you just need a bed in the night and want to experience south-east-european hospitality, enjoy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This was a fantastic hotel to stay in. The rooms were comfortable and cleaned regularly. The staff at reception were very helpful and gave us great information and tips for London. "Good balance of price and location"
Lovely desk staff. A tiny room but that's what I expected for the price/location.Genuine Expedia guest review
THe staff is very warm and friendly. The hotel condition was less than desirable. The hotel is outdated with very old carpets, very old sheets and linens as well as bed covers and pillows. The room had no AC, no internet ( internet was only on basement and 1 st floor ). The room had no phone and it was tiny. It was a long room with 3 beds, one double […] and two singles. It was not worth the $ 150 per night. The area is beautiful and very expensive, however the room made you want to be outside all the time. The towels were extremely old and run down. That being said the father and sons running it are extremely nice people and very helpful. I just wish they would update their hotel and make it a better place to stay. Also, there are no water and soda machines on site so I kept having to walk to the store which was 2 blocks away. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"2* Hotel which tries hard"
Budget 2* hotel in a good location near Tube station. Decent breakfast with lots of fruit as most guests have noted. Room was small, I was upgraded to small double, so not sure how much smaller for single.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was well located. Room was very small and the door had a very flimsy lock with no way to lock it from inside - a key was used rather than a card, so I did not feel very secure. However, that said the room was very quiet. The reception staff were very helpful. The wi fi did not work in our room. The breakfast was very plentiful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It could be worst"
It was OK. The hotel was cleaner than others on its category and the shower and toilets were clean and comfortable. However, it didn't have WiFi in your room which I think is essential as well as there wasn't a table to put your laptop. If you are a business traveller, don't expect to do any work unless you can work only on a tablet and of course you […] have your own WiFi or 3G dongle. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hospitality, hospitality and hospitality."
We arrived early off the sleeper having arranged to leave our bags at the hotel. I half expected this to be a problem but instead we were warmly welcomed and invited to have breakfast. The hospitality from all of the staff was incredible and I think it exceeds anything that I have ever experienced in a hotel before. Breakfast was a seemingly never ending […] series of offerings of ripe fresh fruit, toast, pancakes, fresh coffee, a decent cooked breakfast and more fruit. oh and did i mention the fruit? We were made to feel almost part of the family. Our family room was surprisingly spacious and very clean, and the hotel is in a great situation. There was a bath rather than the shower we would have preferred but this was our only very minor gripe. The warm welcome and the breakfasts made our hotel stay truly memorable. "Great location, great breakfast and great price!"
This hotel is in a lovely area in Kensington, close to the underground station that gives direct access to the main sightseeing attractions in London. The staff and owners of the hotel are very friendly, kind and helpful with more of a bed and breakfast feel as opposed to a hotel. The owners were willing to help us out with a couple of things during […] our stay that you most likely wouldn't get at a chain hotel! The room is also a great deal for families, or if you need a large room for multiple people (we had four people in one room although there was enough sleeping space for six!). The breakfast is wonderful - huge english breakfast with an assortment of fresh fruit (all the fruit was fresh during our stay), cheeses, meats, pastries, toast and breads available as well. The walls between the rooms are quite thin - you can generally hear what is going on in the next room. This could be a problem is the room next to you is noisy, although for us there was no issue as the neighbours were very quiet at night and in the morning. The street noise is also quite audible if you are in a front room, although there wasn't that much traffic noise during the evening. If you are looking for luxurious bedding, comfort and style in your room, this hotel probably isn't going to meet your needs, but overall it suited our needs and was a great price, great location, and great breakfast! "Probably the friendliest hotel!"
It's the staff in this hotel that make it stand out. It is a budget hotel, and the decor is not posh, what you get in the room is basic, but it's what you expect for the money that you pay. What stood out for me is that the staff on reception go out of their way to make things a little bit nicer for you. I was almost bombarded with really lovely fruit […] every day - they have a huge selection at breakfast time - strawberries, bananas, pears, all sorts, and when I was heading out, the guy on reception would insist I took a banana to get me through the day! I stayed here for a trade fair at Earls Court, and it's so close, just an easy walk in the morning. I had read a review on Trip Advisor which mentioned noise and thin walls, but I can't say I experienced a problem with noisy neighbours - I'm sure it's pretty much the same as any other building in the locality. All in all, a good hotel for the money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely budget hotel"
Friendly service, clean room, amazing breakfast. Two minutes' walk from Gloucester Road tube station, which suited us as this line goes to Heathrow where we had to go the next day. Stayed the night at this hotel which was comfortable and adequate for our needs. "Good place to stay"
The hotel is located in a upscale neighborhood. It is an ideal base to explore London. The hotel is quite old but has been kept in good condition. Staff are great and love to feed you more than you need. Overall an ideal place to stay for a trip to London.Genuine Expedia guest review
on first entering the hotel all seemed well. when we were shown to our room. ( 4 bed family room ) we were took downstairs into the basement. Our room was next to the breakfast room & kitchen. IThe room was very basic to say the least. The only window looked out onto a wall that was only about 1foot away, so no daylight could enter.Plus, there was a […] load of rubbish that had been thrown down this gap. The beds were ok comfort wise, but we were woke very early by the noise of the kitchen staff preparing breakfast. Breakfast, now thats another thing...They didnt know how to make a cup of tea. we were served a muddy coloured none discript tastless liquid called tea. The food was eatable, but they tried to serve us loads of fruit that had been laid out on a table in the hallway all the previous day & night. The room was clean, but very small, which is normal for London. The hotel is very dated. The mattress was a bit worn and slightly uncomfortable.
