"far from all activities"
It's a nice hotel perfect staff but bad wifi and bad location ( all the activities & Resturants are at station 2 and the hotel at station 3) with all that being said the hotel charges 350 PHP per person to get you to the d'mall which you can get from public transportion for 25 PHP per person ,finally the hotel doesn't have a beach within the walking distance "this review because I saw another hotel same price turns all the negatives at grand vista to positive "

"Misleading photos and advertisement."
The hotel is very far from the beach, you must take a shuttle bus back and forth. The whole construction is falling apart. There were ants in my room and it smelled like mildew. I got bed mites bites on my body. Shower and toilet in the same room so you have to walk through a pool of water to use a toilet due to poor drainage. Wifi only works in the lobby. I had to ask the staff to remove a spider, fix entrance door and mop the heavy pool of water. They were quick to respond and help but it doesn't make up for the terrible conditions. The hotel has much to be desired. I would gave been better of staying in a hostel.

"Just Ok"
The hotel was nice but at least my room was in need of a major renovation. Everything including the tv remote needs to be updated. The bed, the shower, the toilet, and private pool all need to be upgraded to the something modern. I'm sure this was a beautiful room in 1984, but unfortunately this is 2014.

"Not worth it."
Thank God we only booked this hotel for a night. When we got there, the security personnel didn't think tht we were going to check in. The facade was awesome but the room needs upkeep. The in room pool had no heating so it was a cold pool. The showers needed sometime before the water heated. The bed was horrible. It did have good views and the pool was nice but needed some heating.

"Nice hotel, great pool and rooms."
Very nice hotel and staff. We had a lovely stay thanks. It is a shame about the ongoing renovation but that is life. Would be much better if they tidied up the ugly scaffold and pool bar area. Also hope they plan to include some shade around the main pool when it is finished. Be careful booking through expedia as i have had problems with them changing conditions after booking.

"Boracay Nightmare"
Please, avoid this hotel. We booked a room with breakfast for 3 nights. Upon checkin we were told breakfast wouldn't be included despite our booking confirmation stating 'Free Breakfast'. We were charged for breakfast upon checkout and had to argue daily to get them to rectify their error. We witnessed several other check out arguments while waiting for the shuttle, with the hotel attempting to charge extra fees for rooms which were prepaid. The free welcome drink coupon was nice, until you find out it is for orange juice only. The breakfast buffet had no western options but pancakes and had ants crawling around the utensils and on/in the syrup. Toilet paper is only provided upon request so you may want to request it at checkin. They make you sign a document on checkin that they will charge you for any marks on the towels or sheets, and you are limited to one towel per day, which you have to queue up in the morning to be issued and sign for it. The hourly shuttle to D'Mall is the only saviour of the hotel, your only escape. Be sure to queue early though as you'll be competing with staff finishing their shift and locals who know the driver for a seat.

"Grand Vista"
Overall it was good, the swimming pools and garden were good and well maintained. The food did leave something to be desired as the menu was very limited for a good quality hotel. This must also be the only place in the world that charges you for ice !! Madness !! Rooms were reasonably well cleaned but the complimentary water provided was a little sporadic and one had to keep asking for water. It is a 10 minute minibus ride to the beach but there is a shuttle that runs every hour free of charge

"Nice hotel bit far away"
This hotel looks very grand but is rather old and therefore not in supreme condition. There is an individual spa pool in the rooms but we didn't use it. The location is not convenient but there is a shuttle taking you down to main areas hourly. Tricycle can be called and will cost around PHP100. Getting back at night is easy by tricycle but goes through some dark roads. Not too convenient for party people. Good for people who want a relaxing holiday with good views in the hotel.

"Value for money and away from crowds, etc"
08/31/15 Trevor W Hurstville, Australia
Pros: - Staff were excellent and there appears to be a good in-house training program in place. - Views are awesome, both from rooms and from the outdoor areas around the pool - Staying up on the hill away from the main beach area provides a rest from the crowds, noise etc and also some cooling breezes - Puka beach is very close by - Private pool on your balcony is nice Cons: - Food options limited (but there are a couple of restaurants nearby and it's a short trip on the shuttlebus down to the Boatstation areas) - No shelter around the pool area, so no shady places to sit. However, in the afternoon, the building on the western side gradually shadows/shades the grass area around the pool as the sun goes further across the horizon. - Free wifi but it worked poorly inside our room. Outside on the balcony or around the pool and in the (open air!) breakfast area -all good. Summary - we'd go back for sure.

"2nd visit to Boracay"

Certainly not value for money. From check in..no details about booking but they had charged me twice for reservation! Was informed at full speed all the rules about what not to do ..phew i was tired before even signing in. Booked suite with pool(plunge pool really) it was filthy. Kettle but no cups/tea/coffee.No patio furniture. Terrace was wet all day. No info on room service/t.v info/island Cannot complain about staff. They were all fabulous. Bar/rest. After breakfast was boring and empty. Room and terrace certainly needed complete painting not touched up and patchy. Quite disappionted for money I paid especially with the added tax and service charged. Still love boracay. Forgot to say My guide certainly did their job 1st class treatment.

"Nice pool in room"
03/27/15 Stu2meke Sydney, Australia
Our room was great, used the private pool a lot. The main pools (3) were also nice but would benefit from some shady areas around them. The pool bar was in a state of disrepair and there was ugly scaffold around one building. I imagine it will look a lot nicer once renovations are complete but got the feeling work is progressing slowly. Breakfast buffet was pretty average and restaurant was pretty basic ie pizza and some basic Asian meals but it was cheap. Staff were really nice. Overall I would recommend this hotel but it is quite a way from white beach, about a 15 min shuttle ride and 5 min walk through dmall.

Please, avoid this hotel. We booked a room with breakfast for 3 nights. Upon checkin we were told breakfast wouldn't be included despite our booking confirmation stating 'Free Breakfast'. We witnessed several other check out arguments while waiting for the shuttle, with the hotel attempting to charge extra fees for rooms which were prepaid. Air conditioning is inadequate and can't be left on while you're not in the room as you need the key. The wifi is incredibly slow in the lobby and restaurant and basically useless in room. The pool in room was dirty, we had to put the filter on ourselves and leave it to clear for 2 days. There were ants in the room every day. There is no spa, though it is called a resort and spa. There is also no lift so take this into consideration if you have mobility issues. The hourly shuttle to D'Mall is the only saviour of the hotel, your only escape. Be sure to queue early though as you'll be competing with staff finishing their shift and locals who know the driver for a seat. There is nothing around the hotel, so you will need to go to D'Mall for anything. The view from the hotel is nice but simply reminds you how far away you are from anything.

"Disappointing"
02/23/15 Jessica N Stockholm, Sweden
We emailed the hotel to arrange for airport transfer, to which they agreed and quoted us. Little did we know, they were "outsourcing" our business to a local company, who herds tourists from Kalibo airport to Boracay hotels like cattle. The hotel charged us more than twice the direct rate, making pure profit out of us, without adding any value to the experience. The staff were friendly but not of much help; 5 waiting staff can't run their hotel restaurant of 10 tables. It took two trips to our table for us to get coffee and sugar; we had to ask for sugar, they didn't know better than to preempt our basic needs. The electronic lock on the room door was flat and nobody took the initiative to change it. We had to go to the concierge every time we wanted to get into our room. The jacuzzi pool in the room, the key reason we chose to stay with them, had an antiquated system which only has bubbles every 30 mins. Their outdoor swimming pool clearly has filter issues: on one day, the water was the murkiest I'd ever seen in an operating pool. The local reputation is that the hotel is one of the most costly, and clearly, the most disappointing.

"Best view in Boracay"
01/05/15 Trevor W Sydney, Australia
OK - the bad news first: - The entire resort is a bit worn and tired. Nothing wrong - but night bright 'n' shiny. - The staff stick to the rules and that can be a little annoying, but I guess you can't blame them. I wouldn't want to lose MY job for allowing a guest something outside on management instructions. (Example: "Sorry Sir, only one poolside/beach towel per person per day" - so don't return them mid arvo and ask for another later in the day.) All of the rest is good news. Value for money, a view that beats everything on the island, friendly and helpful staff (the hotel employs mainly younger people and the best ones get a trainee program that gives them experience across departments. I'm all for staff development) and they seem to genuinely enjoy their work. Rooms are HUGE! Yes, we'll be back.

"The view certainly is grand but the hotel needs a revamp."
01/03/15 Efra8898
Compared to the pictures on the website, we were disappointed at the aesthetics when we arrived. The hotel is tired, old and needs "freshening up." It appears that their renovations have been going on for over a year. Rooms are clean and the pools are impressive but could do with new furniture, towels etc. The staff are friendly and the hourly bus to D'Mall is handy. Breakfast was disappointing. Don't expect a 4 star resort... definitely isn't the type of place you'd want to come for a luxurious honeymoon.

"Love the pool in the room!!"
07/24/14 Gelwood San Jose de Buenavista, Philippines
Well not actually in the room but close enough. Great location with fabulous views, it is a long way from Station 2 and the beaches but they have a shuttle that runs hourly to D Mall that is very convenient. The room we had, a grand view suite which they generously upgraded us to was nice, very large but the lack of upkeep was apparent, towel rack almost falling off the wall, no stopper in the sink. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food but the prices were quite high on the room service menu. We got a very good price with it being the rainy season. If we got the same price again we would stay there but otherwise it is too pricey for us and I think their rack rates are very high for what I saw. I would say 3 1/2 star IMO.

"Peaceful and relaxing at room 401"
06/01/14 834tengkuf
Peaceful and relaxing. That's the motif we pick this hotel. The hotel is located at a high area (somewhat secluded) away from the noise of Boracay. There were renovation still and it was indicated in their events I think so. There were a few very spacious pool where you can have an excellent view of the southern island. The cabana were awesome too chillex with my wife and spent quality time peacefully. They provide an hour-by-hour transfer from the hotel to d-mall (station 2) & back which will take you about 15 minutes. This very new the beach and bustling of people. The suite room 401 which we stayed was actually beautiful, spacious,& clean. We did watch the sunset in the private pool in the balcony. The one thing is if they actually painted the place and do abit of touch up it would be much much better. Fendy and Sue
