Stayed here for a day and had a great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great as usual! :)"
We always stay here when we are going to the Sleep Country Amphitheater for concerts. It's clean, has a decent hot breakfast, the beds are comfortable and it's in a close proximity to the venue. They have an indoor pool which my son on one occasion had the pleasure of using before we left for home. Towels provided at the pool. I recommend this hotel […] to anyone. I regularly choose this venue over going to the White River Amphitheater in Auburn, WA because of this hotel. The rates are better and it's easier to get to this hotel from the venue. In Auburn, the closest place is at least 20-30 minutes away and 2x the price. NOT convenient!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Satisfactory, and what I have come to expect from Holiday Inn. Bed was a little uncomfortable - too soft and sagged in the middle. Breakfast was pretty good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent hotel location"
The property is close to a dinner behind the hotel. If you want more restaurant selection, it s about 5 mins away. The room and the hotel are kept very clean, no complains. I would recommend to stay here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful service for our guests"

In the past 3 months we have friends and family come to Vancouver and stay in this wonderful property. The manager has gone out of his way to accommodate our requests for our family visiting us and we greatly appreciate his understanding of special circumstances. We plan to refer anyone coming to Vancouver who is looking for a clean, comfortable, convenient and customer-oriented hotel with the management helping to make this a 5-star place in our minds.

Please see Sharon G's comments, "Went Above & Beyond." We were with the stranded group and received the same extra service. We had been up for almost 24 hours, and Gary Bang ensured that we did not miss our connecting flight home. We cannot say enough good things about him and his courteous, helpful staff. Likewise, we will go out of our way to stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites when in the Vancouver, WA./Portland, OR. area. (Additionally, that hotel is extremely clean with spacious rooms...this is a Grandma note!)

Checked into this hotel and was pleasantly greeted by a lady with a Jamaican accent. The hotel was very clean and fresh. My room was very comfortable and quiet. I recommend this hotel as the price was right and included a nice breakfast.

The Vancouver Mall Holiday Inn & Suites was a bright spot in an otherwise exhausting trip. We ended up staying in Vancouver unexpectedly after missing a connection due to a flight delay. We arrived late with only a few hours to sleep before we headed back to the airport. Not only did we receive the standard good service we'd expect at any hotel, we were offered snacks when we arrived and a selection of yogurt and fruit awaited us when we left. We'd arranged for a cap to meet us at 3 am, and when it didn't show, the desk staff made several phone calls in an attempt to arrange another cab, however the cab companies were reluctant to send someone knowing that a cab had already been called. In the end, Gary Bang, the hotel manager, gave us a ride to the airport in his Jeep. This was way beyond the call of duty, and so very appreciated at this point in our travels. Gary Bang is professional, friendly, and highly capable in dealing with unexpected travel hiccups. We'll never stay anywhere else when we visit the Portland area. I really can't say enough good things about the service we received.
"Courteous staff, clean, quiet room"

My husband and I stayed only one night while visiting family in the area. The young lady at check-in was very pleasant & courteous & check-in was very smooth & quick. We'd requested a king room on a higher floor and were given a nice room on the 4th floor. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Our room was just down from the elevator, but we had no problem with any noise. Breakfast the next morning was good and was kept well-stocked. The breakfast area was very clean. Would definitely stay here again.

The clerk at the desk gave us no info at check in. I had to ask him where the room was located, then later I had to call for info about checkout and breakfast. All he did was take my card then hand me a key. Breakfast was average, but not great. Wifi was decent. Many food options near by. We had chosen this hotel because it was near the Sleep Country Amphitheater. It was about a 15 minute drive back and fourth.
"I guess I won't ever be staying here again...."

I have stayed at this HIE a few times in the last year for business travel. I have typically enjoyed this hotel. I usually ask to be put where it will be quiet and I've never had a problem with noise. The exercise room is very small but it works for me and I have never had any issue. I have never used the pool or hot tub. A couple minor issues: vending machines don't always work and aren't always stocked-and-there is only one elevator and you share it with house keeping so sometimes you have to wait. Other than that I have always felt very safe at this hotel and my room has always been clean. I have always paid around $115 (before fees and taxes) a night at this hotel for a single person in a 1 or 2 queen room. One time when I stayed here the front desk clerk and I were chatting and I explained to him that I travel quite often and enjoy staying with them and he lowered my rate to $100 without me even asking! It was just such a sweet gesture and I felt like my business was wanted and appreciated. I must've told 100 people that story as well. Great example of great service. $10 doesn't mean anything to these large Corp's but to me the gesture meant the world. Today I went to make reservations online for my upcoming stay and I noticed that the price per night during the week was $138.99 per night which doesn't include fees or taxes. I work for a large corporation and they limit the amount we can spend per night on a hotel stay during the week (unless you get prior authorization). I decided I would call the front desk and see if I could get a better rate. Here is were things start going bad... The gentleman that answered the phone there tonight was terribly rude from the get go. I started our conversation by explaining that #1 I have stayed at this HIE before and have always enjoyed my stay, -- #2 I feel safe at this hotel and would like to keep staying there,-- and #3 I have paid as low as $100 per night for a room. He immediately went on the defensive and told me that they have never charged only $100 per night. He said he has been there for 6 months and has never seen a room for $100 per night. He told me he would never ever discount a stay that much. I told him I wasn't asking for that much of a discount but wanted to know if he could give me a better rate. He told me that $138.99 per night is the rate for the room and that he would not be lowering my rate. I was very taken aback by the whole conversation. I have never had an issue like this at any HIE before. I am not a rude or defensive person and I was quite shocked by his verbal demeanor. At the end of the conversation he said he would lower the rate by $10 and that is all he could and would do. HIS LOSS. This hotel had already won me over. They were past the hard part. I was coming back and repeatedly staying. That's their #1 goal right?? All he had to do was be polite, responsive, courteous, and kind and I would be staying there next week. He did none of these things. I will not spend a single dime (or $138.99 per night) to stay were I am not wanted, needed, or appreciated as a consumer/customer. It is time that we stand up for ourselves and remember that as a consumer we are a valuable entity. I will take my business where it is appreciated.

The first thing I noticed when walking in the front door was a B-O-like odor. I tried to tell myself someone spilled cumin on the floor or perhaps it was the scent of the dried décor items in the bowls in the Lobby but it really smelled like sweat. Fortunately it was only in the entrance area just inside the Lobby. Unfortunately, the smell was there throughout the stay. This is an older property with narrow hallways, a slow elevator and drab color scheme. Things appeared to be clean enough and well maintained but there was a lack of color in everything ~ the mounted pictures and photos, the carpeting, drapes and fabric on the sofa and chairs, even though they appeared to be fairly new. The unappealing color palette brought everything down. In the king suite on the 4th fl. the bed skirt sagged unevenly on the floor. Part of it had been tucked under the mattress along with the sheet so it was about 5" off the floor in that area. Nii-ce. The pillows looked and felt as lumpy as cottage cheese. (ick!...how do they get that way?) The room was a good size although long and narrow like a railroad car. Strangely, the closet (maybe 3-ft. wide) was in the middle of the room. It had no door or curtain so the contents were exposed and visible from the bed and sofa. The iron and ironing board took up needed space and the bag of extra linen took up the shelf...ridiculous setup. The place was not without merit. The view out the window was beautiful. The silhouette of the trees in the twilight and the glow of the sunsets ~ stunning! But at an average of $160/ni. definitely not worth a repeat stay.
"Great service, Great room, Loved the buffet breakfast!"
08/18/14 Brandon G Vancouver, Washington
All around great stay, the room was gorgeous, and the room was nice and tidy. I forgot my tooth brush and tooth paste, and the people at the front desk gave it to me complimentary. The buffet breakfast was made very well, and the hotel itself had an all around great atmosphere. The staff was extremely respectful, and I will definitely be visiting again sometime!

I had a great night stay at the Holiday inn near Portland, The beds were exceptionally comfortable, almost to comfortable to get out of! The buffet breakfast was above average. I really enjoyed the customer service all of the staff I talked to were very polite and wanted nothing but to make sure I was comfortable. My room was the my favorite part, it was very clean and neat! All in all, I will for sure be coming back to this hotel the next time I want to stay in Vancouver near Portland.
