"Small but petty nice."
The room was nice, but small. The bathroom was nice as well but the toilet was in the way off the sink and shower. Also the shower for allowed the water top drain out onto the floor. Really nice shower though. Overall, the hotel was nice but felt cramp, in the lobby, in the elevator, in the hallway, in the room, in the closet, and in the bathroom. However, […] I would stay again. I like the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, good staff"
This was a nice place to stay. The location was great, because it was right by two big subway lines. The staff was generally very nice and welcoming, and there were some nice amenities including a business room where tickets could be printed (among other things). I do think that the cleaning policies need to be amended so that they are much more environmentally […] friendly. Waste isn't luxurious, in my opinion. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Close to everything!"
Very pleasant...........couldn't figure out how to adjust bed's firmness - should have called desk. Good vibes!Genuine Expedia guest review
I had a quick trip to NYC and needed a hotel near Grand Central Station. I didn't realize that the Hilton Garden Inn was in such a great location--near Macy's, Koreatown, etc. The hotel was clean, and I had a nice room. The gym was clean and modern. I definitely would return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This has been the 5th or 6th year we have stayed at this hotel. It is in a very convenient location for our wants and needs. We recognize the staff from year to year and they in turn recognize us, which is a nice feeling. I look forward to staying here next year.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location, location, location!"
This hotel was very clean, staff was extremely friendly, room was spacious and comfortable, and the Location.... Perfect. Near Times Square and all of those attractions, Empire State Building, subway next to the hotel, Rooftop Bar, lots of food and coffee shops near. When I visit again I will come back to this hotel for sure.Genuine Expedia guest review
Perfect hotel that is within reasonable walking distance to Penn Station.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value and location!"
This is a practical place to stay due to it's location and price. We knew we would be spending much of our time around town, and less time at the actual hotel. This place was not only clean and orderly, but the check-in and checkout process was fast, easy, and without hassle. We look forward to staying here again!Genuine Expedia guest review

Response by Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street Thank you so much for taking the time to share your FIVE STAR experience with the Expedia community!
Location is convenient to midtown. Staff were very friendly, courteous and professional. The cost was crazy high for the room. The room was small but clean and comfortableGenuine Expedia guest review
"Noisy, but alright"
I stayed on the fourth floor. It was noisy through the night due to all of the trash collection taking place, which is probably why there was a white noise machine next to the bed. The room was fine, the bed was comfortable, and the iron worked well. in all, I had a decent stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with our hotel! Unfortunately, NYC can be a noisier than most other places in the US, but we are happy to see that it didn't keep you from having a great time in our hotel and our city!
"Times Square Getaway"
Great location. Close to Times Square, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Plaza. Rooms weren't big, which I think is normal for the area. Many great restaurants nearby. Had a great time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor room chioce"
Unfortunately we were in the roon next to the elevator so we had to listen to it go up and down all night. One of the beds had a sag in the center so we kept rolling into it all night. Were not sleeping anyway so it didn't matter. Location was great and room was clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"AMAZING hotel and expierence."
Spectacular hotel, great location. Stayed for Thanksgiving. Could see parade from room. AWESOME!! The front desk at this hotel was spectacular. Honestly, everytime I walked through the doors or stepped off the elevator I was greeted with a smile and hello. Even if the hotel was busy swamped. The front desk also would assist us with questions, needs […] or concerns with upmost professional assistance. I was impressed. For this alone I will come back. now, the room was spectacular. The size of room, great. The bothroom was wonderfull. Super new, clean, modern. Amazing large glass shower. Room clean, heat lovely, microwave for heating food. Fridge. Tv was nice. Sitting desk. Bench at window. The room had great views of the city and times square in distance. The thanksgiving parade was close. could watch from room. That was our plan. The hotel was close to all attractions we wanted subways were close, heralds square, Rockefellar plaza, times square. Shopping close, great food close. Police presence was great. Felt safe. Will stau here again. Great service. Concierge was spectacular also. Great attitudes for all staff. Travel to airport via their town car was the best. Flat rate, great car. Lovely experience. "Great central location right next to subway"
Friendly and attentive staff. We arrived at 5:30 am on thanksgiving day and had no problem with hotel storing our luggage so we could attend Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Busy day and we were so happy to have our room done so we could still check in early. On our scheduled check out day we had an arranged excursion, but we were accommodated with a […] late check out that we totally appreciated. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Room furniture was dusty. I dusted it myself."
Not a bad hotel. The room furniture was dusty but I took care of it myself. Staff was very nice. Room was quiet and beds were comfortable. Not enough supplies for coffee.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel has a great location. We liked everything about it. We did find that the elevators were slow to arrive but that was the only negative.Genuine Expedia guest review
All fine except one of three elevators out of service. The morning we left (from 14th floor) all the elevators coming down for 10 minutes were full. We ended up walking down 14 flights with our luggage and two grandchildren.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
front desk personal was excellent, Felix O'Casey the manager went above&beyond to make our stay perfect. Room had great views of EPS building,& Macys in Harold Square. Room had all the amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Awful Stay - Dirty and Poor Management"
No respect or consideration from the management of this hotel. We have stayed in many hotels each year and this by far was the worst. For $300 for a room, it should have been one of the nicest. My relatives died and it took our reservation elsewhere but the management had the power to allow us to cancel 3 days before. They didn't. We arrived at 1am […] and the employees said that management is very money greedy and no compassion. The rooms are 250 sq ft or so and the beds are awful. The bathroom was dirty and there is no room service past 10. This place is crazy. Will never come again and will let everyone know about it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, very clean room and very pleasant staff. However, the hotel was completely lacking in ambiance. The room was so small that if you opened the luggage rack, you blocked the bathroom or one side of the bed. . Only 2 of 3 elevators were working for 23 floors and could only hold 6 people at a time. Even the hallways seemed like a motel 6. […] Would not stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street I am sorry to see that your stay panned out to be only worthy of three stars. We did encounter a problem with one of our elevators recently (which has since been repaired); I'm sorry to hear that this inconvenienced you during your stay.
"Great place to stay anytime in NYC"
I usually don't write reviews but have to say if I venture back to NYC soon I will definitely choose this hotel to return to. The location and proximity to train and city was superb. I only used the subway once and easy walk to most places. I loved that they had coffee (good too) every morning and a paper to grab. Also, apples for a quick snack. The […] room was clean and efficient and bed comfortable. The other thing I look for in a hotel is the ability to open the window for fresh air and this one had it! The first night my fridge made funny noises and woke me up several times - when I mentioned it to the front desk the next morning they quickly fixed the problem. However, the last night the fridge wasn't working but I didn't say anything as I only had water in it and I'm sure they would have quickly remedied the problem. I never did grab a drink at the small bar they had in the lobby but every night I came in it was the same bartender with a smile. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect hotel for a weekend in NYC."
Perfect hotel and location, steps from a subway intersection. Close but not too close to Times Square and a few blocks from Penn Station. Looked at many hotels prior to booking and am glad we chose this one. Very clean, quiet and very friendly & helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again. "Nice hotel, centrally located"
Arrived a little early for checkin, but they got me a room right away. Spacious for Manhattan and very clean. Staff was very helpful and courteous, no bad attitudes.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street I'm happy to read that you were able to get in early! We do not charge for early checkin- if we have a room ready, we are happy to check guests in so that they can maximize your time in the room and in the city!
"Close to Attractions"
I found the central location of this hotel pleasing. One block from Empire State Building, six blocks from Time Square; close to subways and Long Island Rail Road. Made getting there cheap and easy. Arrived on a Saturday, and the AirTrain from JFK was closed for maintenance so they gave free bus ride to Jamica Station, and Long Island Rail Road (faster […] than the A subway) was only $4 on Sat/Sun. Let me off at Penn Station, just two blocks from the hotel. Returning to JFK on Monday, I took the A Subway, and although it was 30 mins longer than LIRR, it was only $2.75. Bought a two day New York Pass for $169. but spending time in the museums means you can't see many attractions in a day. I saw (5) attractions in two days, and would have saved $40 if I had paid individually instead of buying the card. If you can do four attractions per day it might be worth it, but I doubt I could. "NY state of mind!"
Deciding on a hotel in a city you're not familiar with can be challenging. I booked my room requesting a city view based on Hilton's website photo and to my surprise I got more than I bargained for. "Old and needs updating"
This place needs some updating. The comforter was all snagged from being so old. The walls and furniture is all scuffed up. This place is in major need of renovation. Or at least get new bed sheets and covers. Very dissapointed. Will not go back.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel in great location."
A nice Hilton property, conveniently located near Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, theaters, restaurants, etc. our king bed was comfy, though the room was rather small. Plenty of towels, very nice shower. We did notice in our non-smoking room the smell of smoke from another room coming through the vents. Not pleasant. Breakfast is not included and […] rather pricey. We went out and found Pax, an awesome restaurant/take out place around the corner that had everything. Also, Brendan's is on 35th and a delicious place for dinner. "Conveniently located to Subway and Broadway"
My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Garden on 35th st because it was in a perfect location. On Friday we visited the Freedom Museum and had dinner that night at Keens Steakhouse. You work out the front door and the subway station is just to the right about 30 yards. The R train took us right downtown and back.Keens was the next block over. This location […] was perfect. Saturday we went to a Matinee Broadway show. Check out is noon, the hotel keep our bags at no charge. Loved it, Except the Parking was not arranged as I had planned and I was forced to park at a city pay lot over night that cost me $150. I asked before booking if i could park and was told yes. when i arrived (very early morning) i was forced to find something last minute. It really affected my trip and I was very disappointed with the parking billGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, CLEAN, and updated."
I have stayed in many mid-range hotels in Manhattan. The Hilton Garden Inn on West 35th Street is, by far, top of the mid-range category. The check-in staff was efficient and friendly, the hotel was welcoming, and it was - most importantly- clean and safe. I will emphasize CLEAN, super CLEAN. It was in a great location near Penn Station and a short […] walk to many attractions; specifically Times Square. I will stay here again when travelling to Manhattan.
