"Hotel Le Consulat Perfect San Juan location"
Our recent stay at Le Consulat was quite enjoyable. Choosing a hotel online is a risky thing. We prefer to spend our money on "adventures" rather than lodging so usually avoid the fancy places. When looking for hotels we first look at the location and then the price. Le Consulat met our location and price criteria. Since the rates were quite inexpensive […] so we were not expecting much. However, we were very pleasantly surprised by the service that we received. All of the employees were friendly and helpful, especially Pablo who worked several of the nights we were there. The hotel is located in a safe area with many great restaurants within walking distance. We rented a car, but excellent public transportation does not make that a necessity. We will certainly stay at Le Consulat on future trips to Puerto Rico. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value for the money"
We had a group of 7 staying together in a suite. They were very accommodating with us. The hotel is located in a great part of San Juan in which there are several great restaurants within a block of the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the action but in poor condition"
Pros: Just down from the corner where Magdelena meets Ashford. A convenient location close to the casino hotels and restaurants in Condado. The bathroom sink and shower did have hot water. Cons: Very sparse room. Had a section of the ceiling replaced with a large section of acoustic tile that was taped on with masking tape and starting to sag. Thought […] the people above us might end up falling through and landing in our bed while we were sleeping. The phone did not work though it was plugged in. Had to go down 3 flights to front desk to get a hair dryer. The bed was very squeaky and bouncy so that the slightest movement of either of us would wake the other during the night. The AC blows onto the bed and was uncomfortable. AC outlets were coming out of the walls. Very little furniture or decorations. The room and bath were in general disrepair (e.g.The bathroom towel holder fell apart and was useless for holding anything). The toilet had to be held down until completely flushed. When you check in, the front desk gives you the TV remote. Make of that what you will. Beware that when you check out there is an added fee of $3 per day that is not included in the original rate. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

If you're looking for a place just to sleep this is the place! Nice pool, easy access to restaurants and beach. Only drawback was parking at a lot down the street which one time was completely full.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Comfortable and Convienient"
Me and my boyfriend planned a trip to San Juan to celebrate our anniversary. I had never been to PR before and he had never left the country or seen beaches with blue water so I figured this would be perfect. When looking for hotels I wanted something that was nice but affordable. I wasn't looking for anything too fancy because a) I knew we wouldn't […] be in the room much anyway and b) I didn't want to pay and exorbitant amount of money for food, resort fees, etc. I also used to work at a "luxury" hotel so I'm very picky. Le Consulate was a great choice. It's a small "boutique" hotel that is located in the Condado area and close to EVERYTHING. There are tons of restaurants and bars in the area (some fancy, some not) which gives you an array of choices when deciding where to eat and what to do. The hotel is located 2 blocks from the beach which was awesome. There is also a 24 hour Walgreen a block away which was convenient since the TSA threw away my lotion and bug spray. In terms of the room, it is pretty basic (bed, TV, chair, desk, bathroom.) It was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The water temperature in the shower was not as bad as past reviews made it seem. The water was hot but not scolding. I enjoy hot showers so it really didn't bother me. Another plus was that the bus stop to Old San Juan is only 1 block away. All in all I had a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend and go back to this hotel. "Hotel needs some work"
We arrived late at night and were checked into a very tiny room-maybe the last one left. It was disappointing considering the price and had it not been so late we would have requested something else. The maintenance was poor-exposed wires in the bathroom and minimal features. Thankfully it was only booked for 1 night.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great little hotel. Wonderful location in the center of evreything. We enjoyed the many excellent restaurants nearby including an authentic Patisseria only 5 minutes walk away. Nice staff, very helpful. The only problem was a very noisy airconditioner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is close to lots of restaurants and things to doGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel Le Consulat is right in the heart of the Condado. It is handy to restaurants, Walgreen's, dining, and night life.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was very satisfied with our stay. We will definitely consider staying again. The only suggestion that I have is that a small continental breakfast would be appreciated by your patrons. Many people are in a hurry to catch flights or get to a cruise and don't have time to go to a restaurant. The staff was very informative.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall good value for the money. An earlier check-in time would have been better 1pm would be better than 3 pm. It would have been nice to have an ice machine on every floor. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was walking distance to Walmart and Ponderosa for lunch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location, worn out & neglected property."
The rooms are minuscule with absolutely nothing to see from any of the windows, we were in 2 different rooms. The pool was tiny and cute, but the pool area & furniture was dirty and neglected. The room on the third floor had worn out furniture, pillows were hard as a rock, and the floor was only spit cleaned. I didn't want to put my foot in the shower […] because of grungy grout, there's no tubs in the rooms. It was one night, so we sucked it up. We had previously booked another room for our return from a cruise, and asked for a view of the pool or street. We got an even smaller room in worse condition, but with it's own walled in dirty patio, works if you're a smoker. There was no place to put anything on. There was No desk, table or counter in the entire room or bathroom. Just a 4" wide shelf under the wall mount TV. Things were missing from both of the rooms as well, like face cloths, soap, blankets. Don't stay on the 1st floor rear, all the noise from the front desk whips down the hall and right in, but the Wifi doesn't. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
lost of things to do in the neighbourhood(shopping, restaurants, beach 2 blocks away). We booked a queen bed, but it was a double, (perhaps that is a queen in puerto rico). All in all, it was a nice place, clean, and in a good neighbourhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A Boutique Hotel (24 rooms). 2 Blocks away from the Beach. Comfortable but the A/C was a little on the loud side. Beautiful Courtyard with a small pool. Lots of restaurants in the area from routine souvenir shops to high end stores (Gucci, Coach etc.). For the cost per night it was greatGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff were very welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. We were able to leave our luggage at the hotel, while we went.sight-seeing prior to going to board our cruise. They were able to direct us to a wonderful local place for dining. The room had a large outdoor area (more than a patio), and the pool area was well maintained - a little noisy with […] the waterfall, but clean and accessible. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Prisvärt men enkelt hotell"

[…] En bref: un bon rapport qualité/prix. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Well located in the Condado area of San Juan. Very clean simple room with good service. Don’t expect the high end amenities; this is just a hotel for sleeping. Walking distance is everything from restaurants, night life and beach. Very friendly staff. If you need to park your car you will have to park on the other side, (back side) of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay.
"Really good stay!"

I booked this hotel at a last minute situation and it was worth it. Even though I checked in at 1am the service was nice and the best part of all was the comfy bed. The room I was assigned was on the first floor and was an accesible room, but that was not a big deal for me. Hot water, comfy bed, nice smell and great staff makes this hotel a nice place to stay. I will be coming back

The hotel was in a very convenient location! It was an easy walk to the beach as well as to the restaurants. The guest service representative who worked in the evening was a wonderful woman. When we needed blankets, she brought them up immediately. She was very pleasant. Some of the younger staff, however, had an "I don't care" attitude. The pool was clean and very charming. The taxis are conveniently standing at the end of the street. All in all, the stay was wonderful. We will go back to this hotel on our next trip to San Juan!!

Room was clean when we got there, asked for the maids to clean the room the third night, they took the towels, didn't vacuum or strip the bed and never replaced the towels. Went to the front desk and they had no more towels. No desk in room, just a bed, tv, shower which is ok when your expecting that not when your expecting top of the choice hotels line.
"Small hotel with pool in a nice location"

My husband and I stayed here for three nights during a recent trip to San Juan. Our room was on the third floor - the majority of the time we took the stairs, but there is a small elevator. The hotel is within walking distance to several shop, restaurants, and the beach, as well as the bus stop. I would recommend taking the bus to Old San Juan ($0.75) versus a taxi which starts at $15! We actually walked to Old San Juan on our first day there - probably wouldn't recommend this unless you're wearing VERY comfortable shoes! The staff at the hotel are very helpful, the room was clean, and the pool was very refreshing. The neighborhood felt safe for walking at night and there is a Walgreen's very close if you need anything.

We stayed here mid May, 2014. Not a bad place, but a good place to lay your head and relax by the pool. Quite clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The best thing going for this hotel is it's location. There are a lot of restaurants, bars and casinos near by. A few shops/stores. The pool was very relaxing. If I could give the management one bit of advice, it would be for them to put a small glass front cooler in the lobby filled with soda, water, beer, etc.... There is no refrigerator in the room and no vending machines on the property. For vacationers, refreshments are a huge necessity. Whether it be for hydration or just relaxation by the pool. If you plan to stay here, bring a cooler or purchase one. There is a Walgreen's just a short walk away. They have plenty of coolers including the Styrofoam disposable types. There is ice at the hotel but if you are getting a cooler, you might as well pick up a bag of ice. A short block away is a small corner park and just across the street from there is the bus stop. If you plan to go to old town, go to the bus stop and catch the bus for only 75 cents (must have correct change so bring plenty of quarters). I'm not a huge fan of public transportation and I didn't have any issues with their buses. There weren't many stops on the way to old town and you can catch another bus on the way back. I believe it's number 21. When you walk into the bus station (garage area), walk to the furthest station and that's where it will pick you up. The city doesn't seem to do much to encourage travelers to take the buses, I think because they want you to spend the money on a taxi. Taxis are flat rate. Both to and from the airport as well as to and from Old Town. Around $17. If you plan to use the bus system, do some research beforehand because there didn't seem to be any info at any of the stops or hotels. All in all, if I were to go to San Juan again, I would stay here again. We stayed our last night at Intercontinental, just because we wanted a day and night on the beach. Very Very nice place, but you're gonna pay a pretty penny for it as well. We were in room 314 which seemed a bit smaller than any of the other rooms we were able to peek into and the shower didn't have much for water pressure. Again, the staff at Le Consulat were great. There wasn't much they could help us with but when we asked for information, they were very helpful.

Very clean, modern and great location. The hotel is located in the heart of Condado, many restaurants near by, drugstores and bars. At check in was fast, very friendly. My room was at first floor, one queen bed, and a private patio with 2 chairs (Great for a smoker person ). My room was very clean, nice amenities at bathroom, and coffee maker. The hotel have a small pool and jacuzzi, it's pretty area for those that want to relax or have a cocktail. I'll be back for sure... If you don't need a casino, ocean front room, or a large upscale hotel this is a great small gem. Great staff at front desk.

The room was clean and staff was friendly. Beach and restaurants nearby. Talking in the lobby and door slamming echoed down the hall. I did sleep OK. Pool was small but relaxing. Couldn't swim at the beach because waves were too much for my bum leg. I would stay again for one night as the price was decent.

The hotel was very clean and you felt very safe. There was never a moment I thought, anything bad was going to happen. Postivies: Clean Great loaction Pool is open at all times Extremely nice staff(they knew who we were by name) Negatives: No breakfest No extra anything but towels Air conditioning was not the best No safe that worked No fridge You get what you pay for, however I would stay there again. I loved the staff, and my whole experience.
