Great location. Nice area to eat right on the water. Steps away fron beaches and some resorts. Great hotel if you are looking to not stay at a resort but close to other resorts if needed. Will stay again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this boutique-like hotel. It was clean, great location with the water at your back door and the beach at your front door. If you want an alternative in San Juan to the big hotel casinos, Hotel La Playa is a great choice. It's a friendly boutique hotel, right on the ocean, with a small island feel. Friendly staff, great bar and restaurant (many come over from the big hotel casinos for a more authentic experience).

This hotel fit all our needs. Clean, comfortable room, even if the bathroom was tiny. Great location - just across a small dead end street from a nice beach with full amenities. Hotel view was amazing. Stayed for 3 lights and did not want to leave! Guy at the bar made awesome drinks the continental breakfast was better then avarage! And the bathroom was huge, my favorite of all was the view it was great!!!

The hotel mixed up our room reservations and we did not get the room I had reserved. they did manage to find a room with a Queen size bed but not view of the water. They also gave us a small room refrig.

Like other reviewers, when I travel, I'm basically in the room to sleep and nothing else. The hotel/motel is outdated, especially the bathroom but everything worked. It is expensive for what it is. This is a great little place. As a flight attendant I'm used to new hotels with the latest immenities. LaPlaya is a very old but very clean hotel with a "Hemingway esque" feel to it. The staff (and especially Linda) is very accomodating.

I stayed at the Playita for a couple nights because I was standing up in a wedding at the Ritz and I could not afford those prices. This hotel is so adorable and right on top of the water. The room was only ok. Everything you need but room was small. Location is great. The hotel overlloks the ocean and has a nice restaurant and bar which takes advantage of the view. Accross the street from the hotel is a nice and clean beech. Hotel is within 5-10 minutes of the airport.

Hotel La Playa, San Juan, Puerto Rico - small and intimate and a staff that makes the comfort of their "guests" a #1 priority. We had our cruise cancelled recently and while the disappointment of this unfortunate development was difficult to handle, it was made somewhat more bearable - thanks to the empathy that Lynda, Jackie and Trujillo (Houlio) all […] showed us. Their kind words, flexibility in re-arranging our stay at this facility and simply accommodating way helped immensely to take much of the sting out of our disappointment. Then how about the warm service we received at the Restaurant & Bar from David, Wolfgang & Hector. Wolfgang would imply "classical" but this Wolfgang ROCKS!!!!!!! Just because we were able to draw some comfort out of this adversity, we will definitely stay at this little GEM of a hotel if we ever have the opportunity to visit Puerto Rico any time in the future.
