"Nice hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
I booked this hotel for my mother and her brothers for a short family get together while visiting their sister in Jax Beach. They all said it was clean and nice--esp loved the breakfast, could not believe it had so much variety of diff foods and they said it was delicious! Only dissatisfied thing is that when I made the reservation, they said the room had two doubles and a sofa bed, but found out when they checked in the hotel had no such thing--so kind of squished with 3 grown people in one room. But overall they enjoyed the trip and would stay there again.
"cool stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
I am easy to please. A bed, and a fridge, and a microwave so I have the freedom to hold my own food if I'd like. Not like I'm in prison. The free breakfast buffet was great. I was surprised at the quality of the food.

"Under Construction until Spring 2013"
The hotel is under construction. We were not told that either by Hotels.Com or the Omni. There is major work being done and it will be spectacular next year with an Infinity pool. We booked an Ocean view with a King bed and were originally slated right near the construction site; cranes and all. We complained and were moved to the other side where […] construction was not visible. The outdoor swimming pools were torn down and shuttles would take you to another area of the plantation for swimming in a pool. though we made due and the staff was wonderfully pleasant and accommodating, I would have expected to be told in advance of what we would encounter; particularly since this will be the case through next Spring. As a result i was disappointed both in Hotels. Com and the Omni for not disclosing the true condition so that I could make and informed decision. Read more

"no close by pool"
If you have kids this is not for you you have to go 1 mile for the pool since the renovations will not be done until Summer 2013 ool is undwr2013
"Omni Amelia Island"
Exactly what we were looking for. Easy drive from Orlando, once we parked we never had to get in our car again. The shuttle service was very efficient. Never waited more than 5 minutes for a shuttle. View from hotel was awesome. Tennis facility was very nice, alot of shade which can be very nice in the summer months. Seemed to be the off season (April) […] so of course it was easy to get court times. Yes, there was alot of construction, but who cares?!? However, once that huge project is done, you can bet on "Ritz Carlton" rates will follow :( Food was pricey, but very good and super convenient. You can always drive down to Fernandina Beach and find other food options as well. Spa was nice, but nothing to write home about. I think this will be part of the renovation as well. Making smores on the beach at night was a nice touch. Very inexpensive for the hotel, but alot of fun for the guests. I love the beach at night. We left the sliding glass door open all night falling alseep to the sounds of the ocean!! Read more
"Amelia Island Resort"
We had a clean fun time in a comfortable room and good services. Thank you, Robert
"Omni Amelia Island"
It was next to impossible to find the hotel and employees had obviously heard that before. There is a lot of construction going on. There were no restaurants open except for the bar.

"Beautiful even under construction!"
The Omni is a beautiful and luxurious hotel. It is currently undergoing some construction which you see when you drive in but once you park and enter the hotel you won't even notice it! They do have an additional $20 per day hotel fee. We will stay here again! The restaurant inside the hotel is delicious!
"Weekend away from home"
The hotel's location is beautiful! You do feel like you are on a plantation surrounded by nature and peaceful gardens. The tram available within the grounds was a great PLUS!!! No driving required if you stay within the plantation. Great restaurants, shops, golf course and a spa. Very courteous staff. We will come back! Downtown historic area was a […] nice short trip from the hotel. Read more

First visit. Beach and area outstanding. Would return without hesitation. Certain that the construction will provide new exciting ambience in the hotel and hopefully expanded eating venues.
Excellent getaway from Hilton Head.

"fabulous!"
Breathtaking views, wonderful Sunday brunch, staff who bent over backwards for us! We wish we had a week, not just a few days.
Was a very enjoyable stay. Beautiful place to come and relax, sight see, golf or shop. The golf cart ride throughout the property was especially nice for us. Every staff person we encountered was so polite and helpful. You have a topnotch staff. Thanks for the memories.

"AWESOME Christmas Getaway"
Stayed there for a couple of days over Christmas. Had lots of fun in Jacksonville. It's a bit of a drive to the city but if you're there for the resorts many amenities, you will not be disappointed. Great views from the ocean view rooms. Perfect golf course. Clean beach. Very polite employees. Will definitely go back when I get a chance.
"Amelia Island Plantation Resort-pristine getaway"
I love going here for a weekend away. Quiet, relaxing, terrific accommodations and a beautiful beach front. The area is quaint old Florida. No reason to fight the crowds in St Augustine. Definitely recommend this place.
Our weekend stay was so enjoyable. All the staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasing. Everyone from the bellmen to those at the front desk were so friendly and helpful. the hotel is going through renovations but it didn"t interfere with our stay at all. It was a perfect weekend and we will return again.
"Nice hotel, great property!"
The resort property was beautiful with miles of beach and trails. There were multiple choices for dining on the property and the staff was very friendly.
"Hidden Gem"

"The Omni Amelia Island"
Loved the location and amenities. The only thing missing is WIFI and good cell phone reception in each room.
"Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort"
My wife and I stayed at the hotel while I attended a multi-day conference at another location. We got a very good off-season rate. Great amenities and great view of the ocean. The resort property is like a small town - 4 or 5 eating places, stores, 2 golf courses, tennis, walking paths, swimming pool, workout, etc. It is a big place. Beautiful in every […] way - but beware, almost everything you do on the property costs extra $, ie chair and umbrella rental on the beach, cart & bicycle rental, tennis, golf etc - no free breakfast here! AND they charge $20/day "resort fee" to your room rate - so add $20 per day to whatever rate you book your room. The golf courses are beautiful and were not crowded when I played. Read more
"A great affordable get-away"
This hotel sits right on the ocean front. Great views, great pool, great resort all together. Could have had more and better restaurants on the resort, but the ones they do have are decent. We did not participate in much resort activities as we had a 4 yr old with us, which limited the things we could do, such as horse back riding and etc. They do have […] a kids camp that my wife and I found to be expensive, considering we pay a resort fee on top of what they were charging. I only have 2 complaints: 1 - we had to ask for our room to be attended to; we had stepped out for a portion of the day and came back and the room was still the same. Then, on the day we were leaving, a maid entered our room even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door. 2 - there was a pool party put on by the hotel for all staff and guests, but we were not alerted to it, and the signs posted for it suggested it was a private party. We thought we were crashing it for an hour before we realized we were allowed to be there (lol). Would have been nice to know about it, it was a really nice party with lots of food, celebrating the anniversary of the hotel. But as guests we didn't have a clue what the party was for until the end. Read more
"For my money the Omni beats the Ritz"
Staff told us Omni took over the property about a year ago. Attending a conference at the Ritz- Carlton, this was clearly a better value. Needs a bit of maintenance and updating, restaurants could be available for more hours in the day and beds could be more comfortable. But, after experiencing both resorts, for the money, the Ritz falls short and should […] watch out for the competition. Another nice feature is the option of either valet or self parking. This is not an option at the Ritz where I think my average wait for valet was 10 minutes. Read more

"terrific place to stay"
All around great place. All rooms have view and service terrific
"- but housekeeping"
Resort and hotel are great and beach was beautiful. Our room location over the pool was very nice overlooking the pools and fountains and we still had a good view of the beach. Room service was on time and prepared very well. The one complaint was with the housekeeping. We had stayed three nights and both Saturday and Sunday morning had to call twice […] to get housekeeping to our room to replenish towels, toiletries, etc. Both days they had finally showed up around 6 pm as we were getting ready for dinner. This was very disappointing to say the least. The Hotel was not crowded at all that weekend and after leaving and notifying them at 9 or 10 am that we were leaving the room and returning around 4 or 5 pm as finding out they still had not come to our room was very frustrating. Also having a maid try to barge into our room at 930 at night for "turn down service". We were told the next day turn down was for between 6 and 9. Well 930 at night they were opening our door? good thing the chain was on. That was the only bad experience for the weekend, everything else was incredible and worth the visit. Read more
"AWESOME Resort"
I only stayed at the resort for one night, but my girlfriend and I were VERY impressed with the resort. Everything is very luxurious and high end. The rooms are very comfortable and the views are excellent. There are so many shops and restaurants you could easily spend a long weekend there and still not knock everything out. We're both very excited […] to return for a longer stay in a few months. Top notch service in every regard and a great place for a couple! Read more
"The Omni Resort on Amelia Island"
We (family of seven) had a wonderful time. The hotel and grounds were beautiful. . The Beach was great. Food was a little pricy. Overall, a wonderful time and we look forward to going back.
"Omni Plantation and Resort"
Staff was very friendly and the resort was great. We felt it was expensive to eat or drink at the hotel. Two beers poolside was $14 with the gratuity included but this would not stop us from returning. It was a wonderful getaway.
"if you like caterpillars..."
...in front of your ocean view room...this is your hotel. They are currently working on getting the sand back to the beach, and this is right in front of you. Luckily they even do not stop during the night, otherwise you would miss the noise. Glad that we paid 300 Dollar for a night. A very unique experience and smart that they do it during the high […] season where people pay the highest prices for the rooms. Read more

The staff members were very friendly and accomodating. We had a really nice weekend stay.
"Amelia Island Plantation- Nice but nickel&dimed"
This is a fabulous property- we have been several times. Clean, right on the beach, lots to do for adults and kids. My only complaint is that the misc. charges add up so fast that it dampens your stay. A 20% gratituity is added to EVERYTHING you order- even a $3 soda at a walk up bar. Then, a $20 resort fee per day is added to the room charge. Add taxes […] onto that, and you've got a hefty addition to the reasonable rate you booked the room for. Read more
"Omni Amelia Island- on the beach"
We had an oceanfront room on the 3rd floor with a nice balcony area. We left the slider open at night so we could listen to the waves. Oh, and did I mention the golf course? Between us and the beach- gorgeous! The two pools are beautiful- we spent one day at the pool and one day at the beach. They rent lounge chairs and umbrellas at the beach. We got […] some doughnuts and muffins at a market down the road and had breakfast in our room. Lunch was poolside from the cafe. My son said the mahi was the best fish he ever had. We drove into Fernandino for dinner- lots of restaurant choices in a nice historic district. I love all the trees and walking paths on the property. Definitely want to go back! Read more
"Omni Amelia Island Plantastion"
We were very happy with our stay at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation. I have a suggestion. The winding neighborhood roads and exact location of the hotel tended to be confusing to us. We recommend you paint a dotted line on the main road leading in and out so we have a marker to follow to get us from the highway to the hotel and back.
"Disappointing"
After much hype, we were very disappointed in The Plantation. Fodd, sub par, service lacking/slow.
