Stay was great but something strange happened at the end. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night. Saturday night a letter was slipped under the door...Thank you for your stay and friendly reminder check out is at 11 am. Thought this was kind of odd. Used to getting a list of charges to review night before but not a reminder of checkout. Then a phone call to the room at 10:30 am and then at a quarter till 11 a knock on the door by the maid. At this point I was furious. What a terrible way to say good bye to guest you hope will return again and again.

The hotel lies in an upscale neighborhood and is very well maintained. The staff is friendly and always have a smile on their face. Rooms are very clean. The only draw back is that there isn't a restaurant on site. They have to depend on One Bal Harbour for food and dining options. Trust me the food there is great but if you are getting a meal delivered, by the time it gets to Quarzo it gets cold.

Not the best place for eating, as everything closes at 8pm. Way to expensive for what you get. Staff started calling me at 1030am reminding me that checkout time was at 11am. Rude! If check out is at 11am and it's 10:30am don't call me!! I won't stay there again.

Where to begin. Asked where ice machine was and was directed to a dirty little cooler without a scoop, and had watermelon seeds in it. Stayed 3 nights and received towels once, and never received wash clothes. Was told they were out of them. What???? Day after day??? Water saving toilet needed to be flushed 3 times to get even Pee down. You had to stick you finger into a hole to flush, and then needed to do it over and over. Disgusting!! You can hear a pin drop in your neighbors room. The pool is 1950's tiny and old. Elevator is size of a coffin. Had to walk by a public parking lot with some sketchy random people fishing to get to beach, Would never send children or women alone, I never complained once and the day of checkout I was called 10 minutes before 11 O'clock and told "we need the room". I told him we had infant and were packing and he said "I'll give you 10 minutes". No one came to help with baggage, we had to go find cart ourselves, and loaded and moved as staff watched.

When I book hotel trough hotels.com, I thought every room has a balcony with an ocean view. When I got to the place my room didn't have an ocean view. My view was to the parking lot. Thus, if you wanna book this hotel just make sure is the master ocean view which is more expensive. The staff wasn't helpful either and I had to wait until 4:30 because our room wasn't ready

We started our Florida vacation in Bal Harbour Quarzo and it was unanimous that this was the BEST hotel out of three that we stayed in. This is located in North Miami about a five minute walk to the beach and we were greeted with warm smiles and informative staff at the front desk. We were early for our check in and they gladly accommodated us allowing our luggage to be held and guided us to various actives that we could pursue. The hotel was overall clean and our room was was modern chic and had enough space for four ladies. The cleaning staff was also very kind and efficient when asked for more towels, coffee, and ect.

The hotel is pretty much brand new. The decor and furniture are very nice and the actual room was huge. Not much of a view from our room but the back of the hotel has a nice view of the intercoastal. The check in staff was extremely friendly and the bed was extrememly comfortable. The room looked very clean, except while we were watching TV in bed we saw a roach crawl out of the kitchen cabinets and die in the middle of the hallway. It's never good to see a roach in your room, no matter how clean it looks. The shower was also a pain to deal with. It took a while for the hot water to get hot and then once it got hot it was very difficult to bring it back to a normal temperature. The shower head also made an annoying screaming sound the whole time. We did not spend much time in the hotel as we checked in late and only stayed for one night but overall we liked the accomodations and would stay here again. Great location, walking distance to beaches and mall.

This hotel was excellent up until check-out... We were told to check-out by 11:30am, fine... We checked out at the front desk and went back to the room to finish packing -- literally needed 15mins -- the cleaning staff was already in the room telling us they will bring our bags and stuff out to us -- left a bad taste....

We arrived here, which by the way, if you are driving you will most likely pass by this place and miss your turn several times, before we arrived in our destination of Marathon, so this was a quick one night stay. The staff were nice, if you could find them, and they upgraded us to a suite which was nice but much too large and sterile. Cold floors, no color in the rooms, no character. Also, there were bums asking for money near the parking lot so don't go out to your car unless you have to. Also, we were taking a walk across the grounds and apparently people live in this place. A woman was washing out a bedpan, YES a bedpan outside and dumping the contents into the rocks near the windows on the side near the pool. I guess I expected more from this place. They also tell you that you can't bring a pet which is fine, I don't bring mine, but I heard dogs barking throughout the rooms. Either allow them or don't I guess. There was just no character in this place. The room was spotless, so I will commend them on this point, but if you are looking for "Florida" and service, this is probably not the place you want to go. The neighborhood is alright and there is a beautiful mall located nearby, but really, this is not a prime vacation spot so I would skip this and head straight for the Keys next time, or stay on South Beach as I have in the past. I'm sorry, I just was not impressed with this hotel.

The hotel is amazing - decor, location, zen garden and overall feeling. We were upgraded to a suite and stayed at the beautiful west side of the hotel. It certainly was a 5 star stay for a 4 star price. I can see how people staying at the east side with a vies of the overpass and limited waterview can be disappointed.

This is a beautiful modern hotel with really nice and big rooms. Our only issue was the room was so big and the air conditioning unit on the window was so small, it could not keep the room cool. Other than air conditioning issues, the staff and grounds were wonderful. It is a bit far from all the other Miami hot spots, be prepared to drive to everything but if your looking for quaint, out of the way, modern hotel, this is the place for you.

I loved this hotel for something different from the usual corporate giants. Everything was wonderful - service was beyond fantastic. The staff went out of their way to make our visit perfect. While this hotel lived up to the hype in its cleanliness, there were some major issues that we had during our stay. For one, the hotel smells very strongly of cleaning products. There were strange noises coming from the pipes during the night. The staff was unknowedgeable about the shuttle service that is supposed to pick us up at the hotel and drop us off in South Beach and even gave us an outdated shuttle schedule. There was one staff member who was very friendly (Eric) but the rest of them were very unhelpful. For instance, one receptionist served himself a glass of water before offering us one and then when we asked where the pool and beach were located, he merely told us it was around the corner and to follow the signs. As it turns out, the pool is not so easy to find (I never even saw it) and the beach is about a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. Finally, while checking out we were told there was a "resort fee" that was going to be charged to our credit card. We were not informed of this fee prior to our stay or upon check-in. The fee supposedly covers all the hotel amenities, but frankly, there are none. You have to go to the One Hotel across the street to use the beach, eat breakfast, and use the gym. The whole point of staying at a boutique hotel is so you don't have the hassle of a resort and their absurd fees. You shouldn't have to pay for things that aren't even offered at the hotel itself. The Quarzo needs to step up its service big time.

The hotel is located under a bridge, no views on the room, but there is an beautiful garden where you can lay down and the view is to the ocean, that is very peaceful. We had a Handicap room, that was not to great for us. The Hotel is closed to a beautiful Mall and close to kosher restaurants

The appearance of the hotel was wonderful, it smelled great and the rooms were well kept. However, the only problem I had encountered was when my girlfriends and I first arrived there, our suite was not ready. First of all, I had called earlier that same day before we arrive in Miami at 3:30 pm to check on the suite and was told that it was getting cleaned at the moment and will be ready by the time we arrived at the hotel at 4:30 pm. upon arrival, I was told our room was not quite ready and will be another hour or so before we could get settled in. No upgrades or anything for the inconvience. we had plans to head out to South Miami for dinner. They suggested we grab dinner close by the hotel which there wasn't much to choose from the area unless we got a taxi to drive by the next closest restaurants. However, there were 6 of us. Again, we sat in the small waiting room which was cozy but quite tiny as other customers were coming in and out to check in. We literally took up the entire room. Anyways, they never suggested anything for the inconvenience and didn't even discounted us for the room. We were getting fustrated so one of the staff offered us mini muffins and lemon water. Nice...but that doesnt make up for the long wait. They just kept saying the room was big and it takes at least 3-4 hours to clean. It was almost a two hour wait by then. Overall, the stay was good and the pool could have been a bit larger and opened longer. Pool closes at 8.

Great hotel for every type of person from business to pleasure or couples to families.. only issue I had was the distance from South beach the taxi cab prices were a bit much so I would recommend renting a car or a scooter while staying here to get around. There is a shuttle but the times are kinda inconvenient and hard to understand exactly how the route works.. overall this hotel is lovely and I would definitely stay there again.. just with better transportation planned

We had a little trouble getting checked in, the person to check us in wasn't around for 5 mins and I didn't feel like anyone was trying to help find him. Once we did find him, it took another 5 mins to get our keys for the room, again I didn't feel like we were very important. However, once we got to our room all those worries went away. The room was better than we even could have expected with a beautiful spacious inside and an amazing view of the beach from our balcony. I would highly suggest this hotel for anyone looking for a great night in South Beach.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely boutique hotel. we would have liked to be closer to the beach, as it was a few minutes walk from the hotel, however, we found the pool and outside area to be very charming and relaxing. You would need a car to get around the area if you are traveling further than Bal Harbour, and we found that the rate for parking at the hotel was reasonable compared to the other hotels in Miami. We would definitely stay here again.

Our room had no balcony or any windows, we felt very stuffed. Also our room faced the garbage so when we did open the curtain that was our view, a huge garbage! Also, the kitchen is not functional because there is no stove so you cant actually cook anything! we had to eat out all the time, no reason for a kitchen at all. We expressed our concern and the receptionist said that the owner will contact us but no one ever did. Very expensive for what you are really getting

I have stayed here 3 times. Here's my opinion: Location is prime. Okay, it's almost under a bridge, but you barely notice it, it's very quiet and peaceful. You are steps away from the best part of Bal Harbor and it's also where the running trail starts (if you like to exercise). This is my favorite part of the coast, from Palm Beach to Key West. These blocks in Sunny Isles and Bal Harbour are absolutely world class. The hotel is fairly small and intimate. It looks like they are expanding to a much larger lot but I'm not sure. The big problem here is service! A hotel like Quarzo deserves a staff who have the skills to run a place like that. The service is terrible. Always something to be fixed in the room, and always that lazy, disrespectful attitude that I would never expect from any hotel. During my last stay I met an Ukrainian lady at the front desk and she was the only person to ever show the respect, class and high quality service that guests would expect from a good hotel. It's frustrating because the hotel is beautiful, the location is great, but I just could not get a good stay.

The rooms were huge. The hotel has facilities for self catering (oven and stove) but no saucepans etc supplied. Location was OK but no shops or restaurants close by. Parking was convenient.

The hotel is ok, nothing special. It's more of a apartment you can rent. No on site food. The largest let down was room was not clean. Coffee stains all over the place and hair in the sink. Also the Internet booking website I used to book the hotel stated there was a fitness centre, but there wasn't. Sure that is the fault of the website not the hotel

We stayed in this hotel on the night of our engagement and found it to be a beautiful and endearing hotel, with fantastically friendly staff. They even gave us a beautiful surprise to celebrate our engagement. The room itself was huge, well light and equipped and very comfortable.

We booked a mini suite but when we arrived our room had been upgraded, and it was truly fantastic. The staff were very efficient and friendly, and the beach just a couple of minutes walk away. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel, and we will definitely stay there again when we visit Miami.

Check in at 4 pm? Check out at 11am?, instead of Noon / 3pm, that is bad, also the mattress needed an urgent change for a new one. Except of that, everything was perfect.
