"Rooms need to be updated and cleaned"
The farm has beautiful views, especially the main building. Staff is friendly. However, the rooms are so dated, dusty and haven't been aired in a while. We got a very spacious room for four but it had a very bad odor. The room had no beds, but rather a sofa that opens up. The headboard of the sofa had spider webs and a smashed spider on the wall. The […] crown jewel was a musty bed with wet stains. Apparently the ceiling was leaky. We cancelled our accommodation that night and the other two nights. To be fair, I have to add that the owner of the farm helped us to find a different hotel for that night, as it was very late at night. If you like updated and clean rooms, this is not the place for you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing and unique experience for a good price"
We stayed for two nights, which I think was the perfect amount of time. The grounds are quite beautiful and the fact that many items they sell are produced on the property is unique. It is a bit remote, but if you are looking for a unique experience and simple, fresh, and good food, I would definitely recommend staying at Fattoria.Genuine Expedia guest review
"a gem in the hills above the amalfi coast"
We just returned from a three night stay at the Fattoria Terranvoa. This hotel was the highlight of our two week trip to Europe. The drive up to the hotel is spectacular. We are a family of five and assumed that we would have one room with five beds. In face we had an appartment with a large bedroom overlooking the Amalfi coast, a small bedroom with […] one bed and another room with a double room as well as a small kitchen. Some of the units had terraces that overlooked the coast. The Fattoria is a working farm and we awoke to roosters in the morning and wandered through the terraced areas past zucchini, beans, tomatoes etc all served at dinner. The croissants at breakfast were the best I have ever had and there is an extensive buffet for breakast that was included that was wonderful. The cuisine was superb and reasonable and Luigi the owner was unfailingly helpful and suave. Our driver for the Amalfi Coast said he takes many people up to the Fattoria for cooking classes. Through the hotel we were able to get a shuttle from the hotel to town any time we wanted for far less than the cost of a taxi. I emailed Rosa, the office person, several times prior to the visit and as we were travelling by train from Venice to Sorrento and she ensured that the very polite man who drives the shuttle was at the train station when we arrived. This is a wonderful gem for a visit to the Amalfi Coast away from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It was fantastic! It was beautiful! It looked just like the pictures on the internet. The family that ran the place were very helpful. They even drove us to our next hotel that was not too far away. Our family loved this place. It was the highlight of our 12 day trip in Italy. We loved the property but enjoyed the staff even more. My daughter and I took the pizza class with Franchecha. "A true taste of Italy"
Our overall experience was wonderful. The restaurant was so quaint, you could see the ocean from your table it was gorgeous. This farm hotel and restaurant were my favorite, the food was always above average, the staff were always helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was awesome. Keep in mind its located on a mountain in the country and to get to […] the restaurant or pool you have to walk up and down quite a bit to get to both places. "Difficult to find, terrible access, Wonderful food"
After being led up multiple dead end streets by GPS and having to reverse back we finally found the hotel. Was told upon arrival It's a problem. After signing in we were taken down to our villa, in light of the experience getting there and the roads already encountered I asked if there was a turn around area at the bottom. Was told yes so drove the […] car and baggage down. (silly, I know) As we checked out our villa, Pre 1960's building, very tired, seedy and run down. I asked about the pool (Family holiday) and was told it was 10 minutes away. I then asked where I could turn the car around and was told It's a problem. We stayed for around 15 minutes, tried to get wifi (No signal at all in our villa) and at that point decided the place just was not viable for the holiday we wanted and would try to sort out an alternative. After 20 minutes of convoluted reversing and a few scares we managed to get back to the reception building. The manageress was wonderful, told us she had nothing else however did assist in finding other accommodation in a hotel in town. We also had the opportunity to eat in their restaurant. Food was amazing. Bottom line, for a quiet, foodie couples holiday if you do not mind a slightly run down accommodation its ideal (Master bedroom has a old baby basinet in the corner) For a active holiday with older children not so much. No wifi signal was a major issue for us however the manageress / owner insisted it was there or could be fixed. Nice People! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Avoid or make sure you protect your belongings"
While the situation/location and food are really good, it is shabby. We stayed here for ten days and found the hotel very pleasent, staff are most pleasent and freindly.Reading most of the reveiws had a pritty good idea what to expect. The room was very comfy nice veiw and very clean. But very basic and down side was we were underneath other geusts which were very noisy and could hear every movement. The restuarant was very […] beautiful with fresh vegetables and fresh cut flowers everywhere. The food was great,we were a little weary of what were paying for the food as there were no menus but they give you a bill at end of your stay and your meals are 20euros regardless of what you eat pluss extra for drinks which is well priced. Was pitty we didnt no before hand though, only other down side was some comunication problems but we are out in the sticks in italy and you knd of expect it.But if there was a menu it would of been much easier.Location wise its about 15mins walk from a bus stop.We took a car and probably the best way to get around if you are brave enough to hire a car , roads and the drivers out there are terrible !it is scooter crazy out there. And traffic is unbareable only real downside to a holiday in sorrento and amalfi coast is it is so busy its untrue! "Incredible food and views"
We had 3 nights at the Fattoria Terranova. After the stressful drive from Naples airport (dodging the suicidal moped riders on the twisty coastal road), the hotel was an oasis of calm. The owners were welcoming and the service we had in the restaurant was fantastic. The only disappointment was the room itself, which didn't have the sofa and fridge as […] advertised, and there was no bath. The local area is beautiful but there are no beaches nearby to speak of.

"Very unusual unforgettable place"
It's for people who enjoy the atmosphere of real Italian village and don't have idea to spend half an hour (by car or by bus on bandy mountain road) to reach very stony beach plus pay extra money for doubtful pleasure to lie on a longue in just 20 cm from somebody else. However great plus there is small but very cosy swimming pool just in Fattoria Terranova […] area. Extra for it there is fantastic high level restaurant quality food for dinner and very helpful, nice and cheerful staff. Hope soon they will improve modern facilities and make some running repairs. "Nice agriturismo on Amalfi Peninsula"
10/01/13 nldeeri1 HK
Plus: - outside very busy tourist areas of Sorrento, Capri, Positano, Amalfi - quiet environment - friendly staff - nice views - spacious room - swimming pool (not very big, but when we were there in high season it was never busy and there were always a sun lounger and a parasol available for us) - nice setting of the agriturismo itself - breakfast and dining room in an open setting - public transport to Amalfi, Sorrento and other places at approx 15 minutes walk. Buses are not too frequent and can be a bit confusing, so your own wheels are preferable (around the whole of the peninsula, not just for this hotel location) - plenty of options for dinner in Sant Agata sui due Golfi (walking distance) Minus: - personally I found it a pity that the agriturismo doubles as a "restaurant". I prefer agriturismos where they serve you the food of the day (if you decide to eat there) rather than getting a menu and order as if you were in a normal restaurant. In addition it made it a bit less intimate. - during our first night there was a wedding celebration in the agriturismo. The music did not disturb us and stopped at a reasonable time, but if you are looking for a quiet hide-away then this may not match your expectations. Obviously I don't know how often there are functions at this place.
"Best of Italy"
This place is fantastic in every way. We had a wonderful vacation here for five days. For us this was excactly want we wanted going to Italy. It is everything that we thought Italy was. So genuine, rustic and calm up in the area of St Agata, just 15 minutes with car from Sorrento. The atmosphere was calm and we could easily relax. The sorroundings was absolutely stunning. Nice view over the gulf and nice to stroll around in the nearest surroundings of the fattoria, very pittoresk. The food is the best we had during our stay in Italy, the halfboard menu is a must, so tasty and very priceworthy. When we arrived we was met with warmth and smiles. The service was kind and genuine from the staff and the two owners always met our needs with a smile. We stayed in a wonderful junior suite that was fresh and nice. We hanged out at the pool one day, nice and sunny. They have a shop where they sell their homemade products, the oliveoil is a must. Overall- best Agriturismo in Sorrento area, supernice bed and breakfast +++++!!!! We will definitley come back.

The staff at the hotel and restaurant were brilliant always helpful, welcoming and willing to go the extra mile to help two English tourists who's command of Italian was non-existent. The hotel gives a very authentic Italian experience, outside of the most touristy areas of the Amalfi coast up in the hills above S'ant Agata Sue du Golfi down near the tip of the peninsula. The pool was very nice and we had it completely to ourselves for 75% of the time which was great, the staff were also really helpful in organising any excursions or activities. I'd particularly recommend eating in the restaurant, as a hotel guest you could eat whatever you wanted on the menu (as many courses as you want) for 20 euros. Incredible value as the quality of the food was excellent and the portions humungous. The service is also amazing. I'd encourage you to try the wine from their vineyard as well we drank the white most evenings at an incredibly reasonable price it was an excellent quality wine.
"Maybe not the best for a family of five"
08/17/13 Ben M Greenville, Texas
We stayed at the Fattoria Terranova for four nights in July. We're a family of five with the youngest being ten. Let me first start with the good. The food was AMAZING. You really should eat here one night if you're traveling in the area or staying at the hotel. Also, the pool was a really nice benefit as we were able to cool off after a hot day sight seeing. Now, as for the bad and less than great.......these may have been a factor of the particular room we stayed in. We were put in a sort of family room with three single beds in one room and a double in the other. By the third day the list of concerns was mounting......and we're pretty low maintenance mind you. When shaving one morning I couldn't see my face in the poorly it bathroom as the light above the sink flickered on and off. As I shaved a pool of water formed underneath my feet as the sink base was leaking. This was after the shower handled pulled off and I had to fiddle with the toilet paper hanger as it was broken as well. The bedside lights on either side of the bed didn't work....one of them didn't even have a bulb in it. On the wall in the double bedroom there was a fly smashed on the wall by a previous occupant with the imprint of a shoe surrounding the smashed fly. The electrical outlets worked sometimes and not others. Ants were everywhere....including inside the room. The porch attached to the room was dirty and unswept and the chairs on the porch were marginal. One of them was broken. You may or may not get new soap when the room is tended each day. The AC made one room frigid and my wife and I slept in the sweltering hot double room only feet away. We are pretty easy to please and really didn't have inordinate expectations as we stayed all over Europe for nearly 4 weeks and this was our only bad experience. The real sad thing (and frustrating) is that we showed these issues to the owner and he acted very upset that we didn't show them these issues sooner. (This conversation took place after night three.) But the proof if he really cared, in my opinion, is what he did next.........and that was NOTHING. He checked us out the next day and no apology. No nothing. He made no attempt to fix or address ANY of it though we were still staying another night?!? He just made us feel like a heel because were were just then letting him know. I tried to explain to him the list sort of accumulated over the course of our stay so we didn't know about ALL the issues all at once. So, not the best experience. But other rooms may have been amazing. Or maybe the owner was pleasant and helpful with other people. Lastly and unrelated to the room. The hotel is remote and a good walk from public transportation. You'd think a hotel located off the beaten path would be pretty savvy on the bus info, etc. They were not. Actually they were pretty clueless and the best they could offer was to transport you to Sorrento for a fee. If you gave them notice, they would give you a free ride to the nearest town, St Agata. Hope this helps somebody making a decision on where to stay. Ben

We recently stayed in this accommodation and loved it. Such a fabulous setting, so magical. Really reasonably priced with lovely staff. We had a beautiful meal with 5 courses for €20, and the food was wonderful. Breakfast was equally as good, such a nice variety. The rooms were so spacious, the size of some big apartments!! Very clean and well equipped. Our only negative was that we didn't stay for longer than one night. Would recommend this stay to people of all ages. The scenery is beautiful and a wonderful place if anyone is considering a wedding!
"Italy for all senses"
06/30/13 Andreas J Munich, Bayern, Germany
Fattoria Terranova is a magical place - quite special and therefore difficult to describe in all its facets. Following our arrival at the Naples airport, the driver (organised in advance by the hotel's very friendly receptionist) took us to this location situated on the top of the Sorrento peninsula, overlooking the sea, sort of remote but yet close to lots of interesting places (beaches included). Given the typical structure of an agriturismo place (farmhouse), guests will find accomodations, restaurant and other facilities "randomly" distributed across the beautiful property. We can certainly recommend the "junior suite" we had booked - a very nicely renovated and comfortable 2-room apartment with its own spacious sea-view terrace. The stunning part, however, is the main building, although one can hardly identify it as a building. I would rather describe as an assembly of terraces and niches nestled in hundreds of plants and floral arrangements. Most of it is under the open sky - and even if it is not, it feels just that way. This is where guests have breakfast as well as dinner served in a really familiar and casual atmosphere. Food is mostly prepared from the farm's own stuff, simple and authentic in the best sense - and at very reasonable prices. In summary - it is a place where one can sit back, relax and feel entirely comfortable in an environment that delivers an oh-so authentic impression of the region.

This hotel is a family run hotel. It is very rustic, part of an older farm and very different. The accommodation was excellent. The food was fabulous. The staff tremendous. It is situated remotely but with excellent signage relatively easy to find if you have a car. If not the hotel will pick you up from S'antaga. We used the hotel as a central base to visit the Massa area both by car and bus. We visited Sorrento frequently utilising both forms of transport with a journey time of no more than 30 minutes each way. It was also great for chilling out and relaxing after some hectic touring days.
"Had much higher expactations"
When I found this accommodation I thought it was just the thing we were looking for, a dream accommodation. The location is particular and its worth the 20 minute drive up from Sorrento to be surrounded by the spectacular views and greenery but it was a bit scary to drive up at night sometimes because of poor weather conditions most especially. The food was a real treat and breakfast was nice as well. Everything tasted really genuine and at great value at Eur20 for a 4 course meal. The dogs that run around are really sweet as well. We had however a bit of an issue with the lack of hot water and pressure which for 3 nights we had to complain about daily. They told us that they were doing everything possible but it seems they did not find the problem and they told us it worked when we were not there and that it was because we used the showers at the same time...The situation would not have been as bad probably if we had stayed there during better weather conditions and its an experience in itself staying there, not for those seeking the comfortable hotel effect. This accommodation is much more enjoyable in warm conditions. They did give us a discount to make up for the uncomfortable situation. It is well priced as well I must say that even though we arrived late the owner Luigi was outside waiting for us and had a table ready for us and he was very welcoming.
"A taste of real Italy...Perfect"
10/19/12 Olive M Sunderland, United Kingdom
We stayed here for 6 days, the location set in terraces of lemon trees, olive trees, fig trees, and pomegranate trees, gardens of basil and lavender, loggias of vines. This hotel was an amazing "Find", the Villa, within the hotel grounds was perfect for my family of 6 adults in 4 apartments, The breakfast was excellent, with so many choices, most of the food was homemade , cheeses prepared on the owners farm. The evening meal was outstanding, the antipasta course a selection of 10 or 12 tastes, from cheeses to swordfish, the veggie options plentiful and delicous. The main course of either Fish ( generous selection of 3 fish items), or Meat,(enormous steak or mixed grill) was terrific, tasty and generous veggie options of pasta..Then followed by the dessert, souffles, chocolate and almond tart, mousses..A feast for only 20 Euro. . The wine was also made on the farm, a perfect accompaniment . I loved this wine so much I brought home a couple of bottles... We ate at the hotel three nights, and although we enjoyed eating out at the other restaurants, the Fattoria Terranova excelled...The owners, Luigi and Francesca, the staff Andreas and Monica made us very welcome, and attended to our every need. The rugged terrain was breathtakingly beautiful, but a little rough on me and my older legs, my grown-up children had no problem, but the hotel were so helpful and we only had to phone from St Agata, Pontone Road, and they would arrange to pick up up in the people carrier..my thanks to Jacamo and Gunna, and our maid Louisa. Francesca arranged our super Capri trip, Overall, a wonderful holiday, I would recommend this hotel in a heart beat..
