Bredbury Hall Hotel & Country Club - Stockport

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at in Britain. Rooms are very big and comfy. The only thing is it's a bit hard to find, since it is located in Lower Bredbury.

We chose the hotel as it was close to family visit; after entering into the world of maroon carpets, decor and paintwork the service desk barely spoke to us, and walked to our room via the 1970's corridor! we got to our room; the bathroom physically sloped down towards the toilet and the hot tap didn't work; and at 6am the pipe work came into its own […] with an orchestra of noise intermittently when everyone around us got up which was so loud so no chance of sleeping past 6am; we also dropped something and looking for it we saw under the bed was an old wine bottle, glasses, crisp packets and was clearly not ever cleaned. Me and the girls stayed here on a Friday night for my friends birthday. The rooms were great very roomy and comfy. Hotel was lovelly. The reception friendly. Nightclub a bit packed so ended back up in residence bar. Great night out

The hotel has so much potential to be a fabulously luxurious place with it's old style rooms and secluded grounds. Unfortunately it is so run down with the overall look of the place being one of neglect. It looks like it hasn't been painted in years or had any proper maintenance. There is no lift, and I wasn't offered help with my bag (which was heavy#. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast #service and hot food) was very good. My room was large and clean although quite basic. Free wifi For the price I would recommend. I understand at weekends this hotel is very busy and noisy as there is a night club on the premises.

Nice hotel - i.e. nice property and the place is clean. Very much a lads drinking place downstairs - after sports. We stayed a Saturday night on the top floor (should have been quieter). Kept awake by people running around slamming doors. Would not stay again.

Our recent 2 night stay was perfectly acceptable. Downside was that it had a slightly well used feel inside, the high points was the friendliness of the staff. From cleaning ladies, to serving staff to reception staff was all first class and without criticism. Everyone went out of their way to look after us, so thank you Bredbury Hall! Being a nightclub […] location was a concern for our Fri-Sat night stay, but the rooms were well away from the action so we were hardly disturbed by the twenty year old "party animals". Breakfast was very high quality, with the important 'hand cooked' feel for the hot items...nobody wants production line baked bacon and sausages. Portions were generous, quality of food was high (check out the cooked ham-yummy). We never needed lunch when we had breakfast! Concerns about the bouncers (from reading older posts) were unfounded. My wife tried hard to not get us let in, but the bouncers were too professional and saw through the ruse ! The power of the hotel guest I guess. If I was being ultra critical, the day bar staff seemed jaded, and didnt give the service with a smile that I associate with a hotel bar. However, if you see hotel bar as just a "normal pub" then no complaints. Just seemed a missed opportunity thats all. Would I go again ? With the pound so weak for sure. Having read reviews before booking and noted that one or two people found the nightclub and reception area rather noisy especially on Friday and Saturday nights, we requested a room away from the club and reception area and were not disappointed. We were given a well decorated, pleasant and very quiet room which overlooked trees and the River Goyt. […] Food in the restaurant was excellent and staff were very friendly and obliging e.g. we found the bed too firm for our comfort and requested that extra duvets be placed under the bottom sheet. Apart from needing your satnav to find this hotel (even though it's close to motorway) everything about it was great. The twin room was well appointed and spacious, bathroom also spacious and very clean. It was very obvious that housekeeping was high on the agenda here - from seeing managers cleaning windows to all staff taking care of the facilities. Das Hotel hat den Charme eines altenglischen Herrensitzes und überzeugt durch die stilvolle, gemütliche Einrichtung. Es entsteht eine fast märchenhafte Atmosphäre schon beim Betreten des weitläufigen Geländes. Im romantischen Speiseraum wird man von ausreichend Personal umsorgt und verwöhnt. Das Frühstück war überaus vielfältig und üppig.
