Very good location almost close to everything if you are on vacation. People at the front desk are very helpful and speak good English. The room is nice and clean, a little bit small though. Overall satisfied with my stay in Marlowe.

It really was the perfect spot for 24 hours in Mexico City between flights. The lobby is very cool and modern. The room was nothing special, but it was clean and comfortable. There was a special water faucet in the bathroom for filtered drinking water. Also the free wireless internet worked well.

Everything was clean, nice bathroom and shower, purified water tap in bathroom. Main elevator broken when we were there, but alternate, slow elevator worked fine. Great location. several stores and great places to eat across the street in both directions. We loved the tacqueria/jugeria out the front to the right a couple of blocks. Mercado de cuidadela […] about 6-7 blocks away for souvenir shopping. Close to the zocalo and other historic places. Some of the staff spoke English and were very helpful with helping us get around to places we wanted to go. I thought the beds were fine. No a/c so we had to keep the window open and there was construction across the street until very late at night/early morning. Overall we will stay there again. Read more

An attractive, spacious lobby.....small minimalistic single room. Pleasant and efficient front desk and supportive staff, delightful room-cleaner. A good buffet breakfast. Although the room was not extremely big, it was perfect. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The location was excellent, very close to the Palacio de Bellas Artes and the Metro which was the best part. Lots of people at night and well illuminated area. Very pleased.

It's a nice place to stay. The location is close to the Palace of Art and two railway stations. The Zocalo Plaza is also walkable. The staff can speak English and are really helpful. There is WiFi available in the room.

I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel regarding cleanliness, quality of service and hotel location. The internet connection was sometimes slow but I was able to access it during the 4 days I stayed there. Staff was always very receptive, even when I requested to extend my stay there for an hour without charge. The elevator is slow but not […] a big issue. The only issue I had was with room service. I kept requesting personnal not to clean my room and somebody still entered my room. They did not clean the room but I kept finding the windows open even though I made sure they were closed when I left every day. Additionally, I was charged for a local phone call when I never used the room's phone. I assume the person who entered the room and opened the windows was the one who used it. I highly recommend this hotel for people who are looking forward to visit Bellas Artes (one block away), the Zocalo,Templo Mayor and the Cathedral (about 8 blocks away).It can be a noisy hotel because people slam the doors hard but I used ear plugs and did not have a problem. We spent one night here and arrived after 2am. The male receptionist was already at the front door letting in other hotel guests when we arrived. While my husband was squeezing our rental car into the last *tiny* parking space in the subterranean garage, the receptionist did not smile nor speak a word with me (I also speak Spanish). Instead, he asked […] for my passport, leafed through the pages and made only one copy, of my permanent resident visa for Germany. I told him that it was not the front page of my passport, but he nodded and made a copy anyway (probably to copy and sell on the black market). Otherwise, the hotel and room were clean and well-kept. It was a nice surprise because we booked based on the low price since we were not going to spend too much time in the room. We just wanted a clean and safe bed and bathroom. It came out a great looking, spacious and comfortable room. The lobby is a five star and the location is convenient.

The staff was helpful, the lobby is very comfortable and the wi-fi connection works fine throughout the building. The location is very convenient: the street is not the nicest in town, but you're one block away from the Palace of Fine Arts, the Metro and Madero, the pedestrian street leading to the Zócalo.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel but it really not for everyone. The decor is a bit dated though it very nice condition, the staff at times seemed reluctantly helpful but were always polite and on hand. The restaurant was very nice, I had the breakfast buffet there and it does have something for even the fussiest of finicky eaters. My concern is that […] the security does not seem to be very tight, outside the hotel is a street swarming with people, some I did NOT like the look of and some of those were bedding down in the street. A visitor who came to take me out to eat was allowed to walk in off the street, take the elevator up to my room with no questions asked. Also, some drunken party goers made a lot of noise about 3.00 am and their cigarette smoke (even though its a none smoking hotel) drifted under my door and into my room! The internet worked great for the first three hours then would not connect even though it had about 7 or 8 possible combinations. Still, for the price it was very good. Other than the watered off shampoo, this hotel is a Great Value. Seniors enjoy free transportation in the Metro and Troley-buses in Mexico City. Office Depot is around the corner and so are many restaurants at all levels of budget.Exceptional conservation of this 60 year old (or so), building.

I have read all from good to bad about this hotel. I simply love it. Filtered water on tap in the rooms. They speak many languages it seems at the front desk. Many different people are staying there. Your close to the center of the city. Less than a 5 minute walk to Palacio de Bellas Artes and Torre Latinoamericana. It is a good hotel for the price. Everything was clean and the location was a short walk from almost everything in downtown Mexico City. The biggest drawback was the lack of AC and a noisy ceiling fan.

Initially, I arrived at night, and it was my first time in Mexico, and thought the neighborhood wasn't too great. I was a bit too scared to explore. No, the rooms are not amazing, but considering the money I'm paying, it's clean (both the bed and the bathroom) and that's good enough. The location? I love it. It's right in the middle, between Zocalo and Monumento a la Revolucion. You can walk to both easily. And on Av Juarez, just behind the hotel, you can find Starbucks and decent places to eat. We pulled up soaking wet from the rain on a motorbike as we were on a cross Mexico trip. Perhaps if we were coming out of a limo the staffs attitude would of been better. Parking a bike apparently turned into an issue. Keeping it parked in front of a hotel while I took our bags upstairs became an issue and I was asked to move it as soon as possible. […] I was allowed to park my motorcycle two blocks down, and next day it was surrounded by tools and other stuff from the workers that were fixing something. I enjoyed staying here. The room was small, but adequate. We were able to walk down to entertainment and I got a taste of life in Mexico City. We only stayed one night on our way to our destination and that is all I would ever stay in that city, but this hotel was clean and somewhat of an oasis in a not so clean city.

I stayed in the hotel Marlowe for 5 nights. This is an excellent hotel located about 20 minute walk to Zocalo. Subway is about 10 minute walk. I liked it a lot and would certainly stay here again. The only small annoyance was that the card keys did stop working 3-4 times.

Great location- walking distance from Zocalo, National Palace, Paseo de Reforma, and other sites worth seeing. Hotels around the classier Plaza de la Republica are probably better, but also probably more expensive. Marlowe is basic but certainly clean. However, staff speak very limited english and aren't overwhelmingly friendly. They do their job, but […] make no extra effort to make you feel welcome, and are slow to look up and respond though you're clearly standing right over them waiting for their assistance. They are not particularly well-informed about the tour company they book for you through- quoted incorrect prices for 2 of the 3 tours we did (thankfully they over-estimated the price rather than under-estimated). There is no safe in the room- safe boxes are by reception and require queuing at the front desk for staff assistance each time you want to use them. Iron and hairdryer are not automatically provided to each room but again, must be requested at front desk. Finally, a mariachi band at a neighboring bar/ restaurant plays till 3-4am most nights- not great for sleeping. Read more

I had a very short one-night stay at Hotel Marlowe. The hotel was just fine. The lobby was lovely, the dining room upstairs was open until 11 pm, and they served a wonderful meal. When I checked in I asked how early I would need to leave to get to the airport the next morning. They said it would take approximately 30 minutes to get to the airport. He also said if I called about 5 minutes before I left the room he would have a taxi waiting for me. The room was not the fanciest, but the price was excellent. There was a purified water faucet in the bathroom. The location is just a couple of blocks from Belles Artes and near to the Zocalo.
