Hotel is located within walking distance to the North End of Boston where you have historical venues (Paul Revere's home) and fantastic eateries and Italian heritage. Service was outstanding and professional and very helpful. Hotel is very safe as well with entry only by key card for both entrance as well as going from one floor to another on the elevator. Would have rated all fives but the orientation of the room and TV is such that the bed faces north and TV is located at the far east portion of the room (12 feet away) so in order to see the TV, you have to lay on your side and if you are with someone, they won't be able to see the TV. Aside from the TV, this is a great hotel.

We asked them to make reservations for a tour and it was made in advance, but there was a great deal of confusion regarding it. They need someone more knowledgble in the hotel to provide assistance to tourist. It seems to be geared toward business travelers reather than tourist.

It was my first time staying at the Fairmont. This is a smaller hotel, nicely situated on the waterfront. It is actually located in two separate buildings, connected at the lower level so there is no need to go outside. Our accomodations were excellent. While they have the full range of amenities, the restaurant and lounge are on the smaller side. Given the location, they are a little out of the way for cabs so a call ahead to the bellman will save a wait while they call a cab. Very close to the North End and all their great restaurants.

You know how when a new movie comes out and everyone's talking about how great it is and how you just have to see it? Then you finally sit down and it's... good. Not bad. Not even ok. But good. That's what staying at the new Fairmont Battery Wharf felt like. There wasn't anything wrong per se, but there was definitely something missing that I would expect from a) Fairmont and b) any 4-star hotel on the Boston waterfront. The modern aesthetic was nice, but execution left just a little something to be desired.

The hotel is relatively new and awesome. We took the water taxi from Logan Airport which was such a great start to our vacation. The hotel is top notch, and we were even given a tour of the room amenities (that says it all!). Location is great and has a beautiful landscaped area where you can relax and look out over the water. Lovely. North end location is key, too. Kids loved the big flat screen tv and we even paid for a movie(which we never do) since room was so nice and relaxing. Would absolutely stay again.

Lovely new hotel on the wharf in Boston's North end. Very conveniently located close to historical locations and restaurants. Rooms are all modern and bed was extremely comfortable. Our only complaint was that the walls were a little thin. We were placed in a room above the entrance to the hotel and could hear the conversations between the bell hops and arriving guests. One quick phone call to the front desk and we were moved to a much quieter room. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel!

The Fairmont Battery Wharf was amazing! Who would expect such a superb retreat in the middle of a bustling city? The property is located right on the harbor at the end of Hanover Street in the North End. It has its own private driveway off Atlantic Ave...it's like entering a mini, secluded resort, and yet, you're still in Boston - one of the most densely populated cities in America. The Fairmont opened in 2009, and the rooms were equipped with all the modern amenities. We stayed in a standard room - pretty decent size with a spacious bathroom. The public spaces were well appointed, and the staff could not have been any nicer. The on-site restaurant was very good. After dinner, our family shared drinks and dessert on the harbor-walk, right outside the hotel. It was so quiet, all you could hear were the waves from the ocean lapping up against the pier. The only complaint is that it is a bit of a walk to the nearest T (subway) station. That said, it is easily one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had!

Our room was nicely appointed and had the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in (including our own). The staff was attentive, friendly, and quite knowledgeable about the neighborhood and the events happening in Boston at the time. The location on the harbor together with the pleasant outdoor spaces for relaxing by the water provided a welcome respite after a busy day. Most of the Freedom Trail sites are within walking distance, and there's a trolley stop only a couple of blocks away. The North End neighborhood is rife with excellent Italian food as well as the famous Mike's Pastry shop. The only minor disappointments were the $42 fee per night for parking (a bit steep, in our opinion) and the fact that the hotel charges for in-room internet service. We dealt with those things by returning the car after the first night and using the free wireless service in the lobby. We ended every day with drinks outside by the water (very talented bartenders here) and sighs of contentment.

We were very impressed with this very nice hotel. The rooms are beautiful, with great attention to detail and design. Our only concern was that there was too much attention paid to us. People came into the room to explain everything. The next morning at breakfast, which was exquisite and delicious, one person was helping us with everything. Actually, we would rather someone be available to help if we have a question, rather than hovering over us. This issue may seem unimportant to some, but, while I would recommend this hotel, I would let anyone know about the attention that they might receive so they could make an informed choice. We got our tickets online at a reduced rate, so we felt we got a good deal.

Pros: Nice quiet location while only being a few blocks away from the North End. Cons: valet parking is $42 per night, which is rather expensive. Not all that close to a subway station - it's about a 7 minute walk to the closest one. I stayed here for a weekend and was very pleased with the service. The staff were very helpful and friendly. When a guest checked in, they would have someone escort the guest to their room to make sure that they knew where everything was in the room, how to work the Senseo coffee maker, etc. Nice 42" HD LCD tv in the room with I think 95 channels. The room was very clean. I thought the walls were a little thin though...I could clearly hear people talking in the halls and the guest next door - who were partying in their room until 2 am... Overall a good hotel and I would stay here again.

The bed and other furnishings were obviously of very good quality, as were the incidentals (towels, shampoo, etc.). The location was excellent - right on the water, and close to the airport as well as more touristy areas (Quincy Market). The service at the concierge desk, restaurant and door were all uniformly excellent. Paid to get an upgrade to a Junior Suite thinking I would get one of the nicer rooms with a view of the downtown lit up a night ... was suprised when they led me down what seemed like a back hallway to a room that had a breathtaking view of a .... parking lot and some guy doing remodelling of his apartment across from my window!!! The room was spectacular but what's up here. The layout was off too ... yes it has a 42" lcd HD tv but because of the distribution in the room it was about 40 feet from the bed. Pretty far if you wanted to watch TV in bed. Other than that though pretty spectacular. Loved the espresso machine ... I think I had about 8 cups in one night!!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights over the Memorial Day weekend holiday. We received a fantastic rate through hotels.com because this hotel is new. Staff was helpful and polite -- couldn't do enough for you. The room was beautiful, very modern. The bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom was huge, although there is only a large shower stall, no bathtub (if that is important to you). Great lighted makeup mirror in the bathroom, too. Nice toiletries. Large HD TV with many channels. Mini bar was well stocked, but very expensive -- we brought our own snacks and drinks and kept them in a cooler. You have to call room service for ice, as there is no ice machine accessible (this was a but of an inconvenience, although it was delivered quickly). Only (very small) drawback is the northern location -- pretty far from the Back Bay area and no nearby T station. Parking is $42.00 per night with in/out privileges -- there might be cheaper options, but we opted for the convenience of having the car nearby. All in all, the hotel is great and would stay there again if we got another fantastic rate.

It was delivered right away but just one more person you should tip. Parking was $42 for the night so I suggest you pay the $20 for 24 hour parking that is two blocks away. The bathroom was very nice and had speakers built into the ceiling so you could listen to the tv while taking a shower (I'm easily amused).
