I took the four-person male shared room option. Although it's a shared 'dorm' or hostel it's much better than that in reality - very spacious and the beds weren't on top of one other like in most other hostels I've stayed in over the years (separate single beds on four corners of the room). The room was extremely spacious and the washroom was well-maintained (not perfectly of course (it also depends on how clean the other people staying at the time are), but the supplies like tissue papers and hot water etc. weren't lacking). I went with low expectations and even though this is a basic place I was to a very large extent comfortable. I don't know how far exactly it is from major places in town, but it seemed very close based on my experience with a friend picking me up in her car. Overall: I had a good stay, their standards seem to be maintained.

We were looking for somewhere clean, with parking and internet access, and to our benefit we also got a location that was slap in the middle of a historic... town centre, that made us feel like we were away from the hustle and bustle. Exactly what we were looking for, nice hosts (not a great deal of English), and a comfortable stay. We wanted to stop somewhere for a little down time between the hustle and bustle of Rome and Venice. Ferrara was on the rail line, and had a great concert going on in the central square at the same time so we went for it. A quick search, led to a number of hotel options, and San Romano stuck out due to it's location and slightly more efficient cost. […] It was a very quick taxi ride from the train station, and we got checked in right away. Unlike Rome, the hotel staff spoke very little English, which was a good sign, that we weren't in another tourist trap. The free breakfast was sufficient though if really hungry you'll need to go elsewhere since it was limited. All in all, great for a quick stay, though if more than a night or two, may want to find somewhere a little more comfortable. It is a couple blocks from the center of Ferrara, right at the end of a major shopping street. Read more

Très bon accueil et disponibilité du personnel dans un Ferrare entre pluie et neige de Février. L'hôtel est très bien situé, petite rue commerçante à quelques minutes à pied de la cathédrale et du château, pas de touristication désagréable du quartier. Je reviendrai avec plaisir.

La posizione dell'hotel é ottimale, é appena fuori le mura della città e in soli pochi minuti di cammino si raggiunge il centro. Il personale é molto cordiale ma non basta a compensare le inadeguatezze della struttura come ad esempio la pulizia non eccellente della stanza. Il personale d'albergo era consapevole che l'impianto di riscaldamento (aria condizionata) è del tutto inadeguato, cioè: fittizio! Il bagno è privo di qualsiasi forma di riscaldamento e l'acqua calda tarda ad uscire dopo l'apertura dei rubinetti! Ragnatele sparse su tutto il soffitto della stanza!
