"Beautiful inn on way to Cliffs of Moher"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 18, 2012
We had a wonderful stay at the Rusheen Lodge on our way to the Cliffs of Moher. Karen ws very helpful and cooks up a delicious breakfast. The Burren Suite was large enough for four adults and included a sitting area that was quite comfortable. Enjoyed it very much.
"Very relaxing place to stay !"Reviewed by Nancy F of "Bermuda" on Apr 17, 2012
The Twelve Hotel has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It is in a lovely area right on the beach - a great area for walking. The hotel staff were very friendly, efficient and responsive to whatever your needs are. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean, well stocked with a welcome treat upon check in, tea/coffee supplies, wine glasses, etc. Both casual and fine dining options, live entertainment in the evening. We would definitely go back or recommend this hotel to friends. The only drawback for some people might be that it is about 10 minutes drive from Galway.

Brian was great! This hotel was the perfect place to fit our needs for the night. Brian provided us with great service, making reservations for us, taking time to print out directions, and giving us general advice. Thank you

This hotel was easy to find if you're driving. Just a short walk to the main street and a good breakfast. We would stay there again.

"Harbour Hotel-Galway"
Great location on the docks. so close to the city center (5 minute walk). Beautiful location and close to Galway Bay promanade. Beautiful hotel and great breakfast buffet for such a good price (one of the best value in Europe that I've seen). Only downside was the hen party returning in the middle of the night trying to get into our room the night/morning […] of our half marathon race. Don't know why they would put them next to our room since the hotel was NOT full. Read more
"Harbour Hotel"
The Harbour Hotel is conveniently close to downtown and Eyre Square, but it is not worth the convenient location. It was the first hotel we stayed at on our trip and after a long 8 hour flight and 3 hour train ride to Galway, all we wanted was a nice hot shower in a nice comfortable room. First we had troubles finding the hotel because it wasn't where […] GoogleMaps said it would be, although that's not the fault of the hotel. I went to take a shower, and it was like trying to shower in a light drizzle. The water pressure was so bad that it took a whole 5 minutes to get my hair wet enough to wash. The TV was on its last legs as it kept getting a line through the picture that made it almost impossible to watch. We finally fell asleep despite how hot our room was, only to be woken up by the maids at 8 in the morning cleaning a room across the hall. The walls are so thin that it sounded like they were in our room cleaning and humming, not exactly what you want to wake up to with a lot of jet lag. Overall, despite the convenient location to downtown, I would not stay here ever again. Read more
"Harbour Hotel Galway"
The hotel was clean and neat, and we enjoyed our stay there. The hotel became very busy at night and was a bit noisy with the guests at the wine service and bar. Later at night, the guests going back to the car park were sometimes noisy. The internet service was slow and bothersome with having to relog every 30 minutes. If we could have received a […] pass for the day, it would have been nicer, and having to log in less would also have been attractive. Food at the restaurant was fine, but you can find better in Galway. The hotel was very close to the main shopping district in Galway, and you had no trouble walking there, even in the snow. It was very central for all our needs. Read more
"Galway Harbor Hotel"
Lovely staff, excellent location. Enjoyed being on a real working harbor and seeing the big ships come in. Short walking distance to pubs and wonderful restaurants. Clean and comfy rooms.
"Galway Harbour Hotel - Close to the sights"
Very nice hotel walking distance from the center of town, but far enough to be quiet. Early check in was no problem.

"nice updated hotel-great location"
We really enjoyed our stay here (and the town of Galway). We walked into town numerous times because it was so convenient. My only complaint was that the room got hot at night because there is no a/c so we had to leave the window open and then it was a noisy street outside. If your room doesn't face the street it would be fine. Otherwise the room was […] modern, had wifi, and the service was excellent! Read more
"Galway Harbour Hotel in Galway"
This was a very comfortable hotel with a good breakfast buffet (lots of choices). The bar is very comfortable and the sevice was good! It is several blocks to the downtown area and bus station, but easily walkable. We stayed on a Saturday and Sunday night. Saturday night there were a lot of drunks walking around outside yelling late (there was a festival […] going on) and a drunk pounding on a door across the hall at 3 AM. Sunday night was very quiet. Despite some of the noise Saturday night, we would stay at this hotel again. Read more
Good location but room had no view besides the electrical equipment. Beds were fairly uncomfortable and bathroom was plain. This hotel worked for a few nights because of its location but I was ready to leave at the stay's end.

"Excellent base"
Our room was spacious, and the general surroundings in the hotel were simple and smart. It's excellently located for exploring the city, and the shipping movements add interest. My only negative comments were that: 1). car parking from 2100 to 1100 hrs. the following day cost us an extra Eu. 6 (the hotel car parking was full, and I understand would […] have cost no less) 2). Each time we went into our room there was a strong smell of old cigarette smoke (though it quickly became unnoticable once one was in). Despite these minor problems, I would strongly recommend the hotel, and would use it again. Read more
"great location"
harbour hotel is fantastic hotel. will def stay there again. great location. funky interior, spotlessly clean and comfortable, however bar is a bit of a let down. music blaring over loud television and poor selection of bottled beer. despite this will be def staying there again.
"Doesn't worth the price"
I've got strange impression about the hotel. It looks nice, it has very helpful and nice personnel. They let us check in the morning (just the moment we arrived), several hours before check-in time, they kept our bags in the luggage room for a day absolutely for free, and the girls at the reception were always very helpful. You can use the computer […] and internet downstairs absolutely for free, which is also nice. But I don't think our room was even near worth the money we paid. First - the windows won't be able to be closed completely, something was wrong with the both parts of the window. As the hotel is situated in the harbor, there was very big wind during the evening and the night. I could say - it was very windy in our room too!!! It was also very noisy, because the wind had being making awful sounds coming through the window all the time, without any break. We were lucky to be so tired in the evening, that we were able to sleep in this noise... We were also too much tired to ask to do something with the windows, because we were traveling around Connemara all the day long, came back to the hotel only late in the night already and were supposed to be leaving in the morning. Also in the night there was extremely cold in the room because of the wind, which was everywhere. Also I guessed the bathroom was not well cleaned before we used the room. I got the impression that the toilet was not cleaned at all probably, and also the place for putting women's staff in the bathroom had garbage left after the previous people (hope you understand what I mean). They said at the reception they were very busy those days because Galway was crowded with people. And actually I'm not fastidious at all. But bathroom in the hotel should be cleaned I believe, especially the toilet! Also I would highly recommend always get your reservation with you, when you come to the hotel. We were lucky we had, because the room I booked was double for two people, but the girl at the reception said w Read more
"not impressed"

"Excellent hotel in an excellent location"
The hotel was a comfortable modern building located at the galway harbour front. It is close to the town centre and all the drinking and eating requirements at close hand. Rooms were very comfortable and hotel lobby and bar relaxed. Only one small problems is that on site parking is not free costing €5 6pm-9am and €1 per hr in between.
"Wont stay anywhere else when in Galway"
We only stayed the one night - room only. The staff were very polite and let us check in early. The room was spotless and the hotel in general is well cared for. So close to the centre but away from the noise, perfect. Will definately stay again.
"Dosen't deserve 4 star rating"
Staff friendly and welcomiing, thats the good bit. Rooms are small, the first one we were offered reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Rooms to the front of the hotel look onto a very noisey and busy main road and to the rear the air conditioning units. Hotel bounded on both sides by what appears to be social housing apartments. Car parking id charged at […] €5 PER NIGHT!!!! Would not return or recommend. Read more

"On the go - need somewhere handy"
The hotel is 5 min walk from the main shopping street and local pubs of galway. You are also a stones throw from numerous restaurants. Although so close to all of this you can have a peaceful drink in the hotel bar. The only complaint I have have was that I didnt have enough time to enjoy the comfortable beds.

Only possible complaint was the fact that food was not available between 10 and 11pm... even from the "24 hour' menu. other than that the place was an absolute delight.

"Harbour hotel"
We stayed here for 2 nights in February. We arrived before 1pm but there was no problem checking in early. They also serve breakfast until 11am at the weekend, which was another nice touch. The staff were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The location is fantastic and it has its' own parking.
"Good"
The hotel was good. Great location within walking distance of everything. Had a bit of an issue with the cleanliness of the room. We found some intimate clothing from the previous occupant. Housekeeping was obviously a little iffy, however the rectified the situation quickly and professionally.
"Clean and comfortable."
A great spot right near the main street. Great food at a reasonable price.
Stayed here for a couple of days this month. Only the bed was made everything else was untidy (i.e) glasses, bottles etc... still left in our room. One morning I left the breakfast tray out in the hallway and it was there till the very late that night! Lacking effort.

"Harbour Hotel Galway"
we had a lovely stay, everything was absolutely wonderful. The location was within walking distance of Eyre Square and some excellent pubs. The hotel was clean and inviting and the entire staff was extremely helpful. Special mention should be given to the dining room staff, especially Theresa. Highly recommended all the way round!
"Harbour Hotel Galway - So convenient"
Arrived with my daughter late Friday evening (8.00 p.m.) - literally only had time to drop our bags as we had a pressing engagement. Main lights in room not working - advised receptionist - came home around midnight - light problem had been rectified - quite impressed. Only criticism - breakfast was not as hot as I would have liked - overall service […] very good and could not fault a very comfortable room. Read more

"Excellent service."
We had some special needs during our stay in this hotel. All email queries prior to arrival were dealt with promptly and the hotel staff looked after all our needs. The service was excellent. Hotel itself is clean and breakfast was fine. Rooms are clean. Location is convenient, it's only a 5 minute walk to the Spanish Arch & bars and restaurants.
"Great Hotel!"
This hotel is well located - right next to the Spanish arch and it is only a short stroll to the city centre. Comfortable, very nice staff and good breakfast! Would recommend it!
"Harbour Hotel - Galway"
Nice confortable hotel with all the required commodities. 5 minutes walking distance from downtown No AC
"Fantastic!"
I stayed in the Hotel the Wednesday night of the Galway Summer Races - I loved this hotel - the hotel staff were so friendly especially the lady that greeted us for breakfast - every thing in this hotel is so clean - credit to the housekeeping staff and the beds are so comfortable I couldn't believe it! Can't wait to get to stay there again - well done […] all in Harbour Hotel! Read more

"Harbour Hotel, Galway - nearly perfect"
Almost everything at this hotel met or exceeded expectations, the staff being very friendly and attentive. The exception was the quality of the food from the dinner menu. First, let me say that the breakfast was great, only issue here being getting the attention of waiting staff to order tea/coffee. It would be easier on diners if staff were to offer […] beverages on taking a table, as in many hotels. Back to dinner. For starter, I ordered the chowder, a favourite of mine when in Galway. Unfortunately, it lacked a reasonable fish content, and was bulked out by too much vegetables in a tasteless milky broth. Quite unusually for me, I took to adding some ground pepper to instill some life into it. For main course I ordered the Thai Noodle Salad, which arrived as a mass of noodles (far too much) floating on a pool of thin sauce. There was some chicken and tomatoes, as announced, but the lasting impression was of the sheer volume of noodles, and not much thought in the overall mix. Based on my experience, I chose to dine at some of Galway's many other eateries. Pity, because this is otherwise such an excellent hotel, to which I will return. Read more
"Harbour Hotel, Galway City"
This is a very nice hotel a few minutes walk from Eyre Square. The decor is modern. Surprised it is only rated as 3 stars as it has all the acoutrements one would expect in a 4 star hotel, a spa but no swimming pool though, maybe that's the reason. Service in the bar and restaurant was friendly and efficient. It wasn't what I would consider cheap to […] stay there, but then all hotels in Galway in high season are expensive, especially at weekends. I was surprised to discover this considering how much the hotel industry is complaining at the moment. Overall I would recommend this hotel. Read more
"Harbour hotel."
Room noisy- OPENING ON TO A BUSY STREET. Food at reception very poor and badly served. Front of house staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful so I forgave a lot.
"Harbour Hotel Galway - recommended"
I stayed in the Harbour Hotel Galway for two nights in April. I had travelled from Dublin to take part in the Connemara half marathon on 10 April. I was very impressed by the level of service in the hotel, from the friendly reception we received on arrival, to the provision of an early breakfast for those taking part in the event. The only criticism […] I would have would be that the showers could do with an update. While the area immediately surrounding the hotel is not beautiful, the location is convenient for walking into the city. Overall I was very happy with my stay. Read more

"Excellent hotels"
I stayed in the hotel for seven consecutive nights. I asked for the quietest room in the hotel as I was working on a book and the room I was given was perfect in that regard. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful at all times. The hotel is in a quiet location but it's still only a five minute walk to the busiest street in Galway, Shop Street. Breakfast […] was excellent. I didn't have dinner in the hotel as I felt the choice of dishes was quite limited. Lunch was fine, though: soup and sandwich for under €7. I would recommend this hotel very highly. The room rates are reasonable, it's centrally located and the staff is extremely nice. Read more
"great location and comfortable"
The room was perfect size and cosy. The bed was very comfortable. I didnt like how we had to pay for parking now saying that it was only 5euro for da nite. Great choice with the breakfast. We stayed valentines nite and when we went into the bar to get diner, we were told that there was just a valentines menu for both bar& restaurant but we found a […] lovely traditional looking pub and restaurant down the st along the harbour which was lovely called Mcginns. I would stay here again as its really close to centre of town yet you have the quiteness of the surroundings of the hotel. Read more
