"Comfort and relaxation"
Our first visit to Seattle, my 12-year old son and I stayed at the Hyatt at Olive 8 for 6 nights. We really enjoyed our stay. The pool was a huge plus for us, as we like to swim, and the three-lane lap pool was more than adequate for us. The pool room, itself, was a wonderful, warm space on the 2nd floor which overlooked the street below. The water […] was not chlorinated, but rather salt water. In addition, we really enjoyed the steamroom and sauna in the bath off the pool. Wow! What a great way to relax. We had a south-facing room on the 17th floor. For two such as us--from rural California, the view was great. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is not near the water, but water was background for the highrises on the south vista. At night, it was very beautiful...at least for two hayseeds long accustomed to the heat and dust and humble abodes of the San Joaquin Valley. The room was ample, the beds soft. The cleaning staff, though hard to understand because of language barriers, were attentive and asked if we needed anything. Some folks down the fall were having a family reunion/party, and so were a bit loud from time-to-time, but this didn't bother us at all. The bathroom was clean and well-lit. We asked for and received a little refrigerator, as we ate breakfast (cereal with fruit) in the mornings to avoid the high costs of room services (and of course I needed to store water and a few beers). The hotel staff were friendly. Thank you Hyatt staff for a nice visit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Free wi fi is not provided so not a good hotel For business travellerGenuine Expedia guest review
The Hyatt at Olive 8 is an excellent hotel, with a great location. Just a short walk to the light rail system, monorail, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice place but a bit far away from sites for small children. Driving is a nightmare with limited parking or VERY EXPENSIVE!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything about my experience was 5 star. The room was very comfortable, and the staff treats you like a VIP.Genuine Expedia guest review
Service was excellent from the moment we checked in to the time we checked out. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends. The first room was not to our liking as it looked directly into an office space next door. We were moved to another room of the same quality the very next day. The concierge desk was very helpful with restaurant recommendations […] and day trip ideas. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
From the service to location everything was great. I liked the newness of the hotel and very much appreciated the LEED Silver status as well. Beds were super comfy, room was very quiet and bathroom and room were a nice size. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Seattle. Thank u Hyatt!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very nice AND very expensive!"
Very nice stay. Breakfast was not the best. Great location in downtown Seattle. Very clean, new, modern, and green. Expensive -- but this is downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Snippy at the Desk"
Couldn't get us connecting rooms, and got a bit snippy when we were troubled by it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than the Hyatt of my youth"
The front desk was extremely friendly, and our room was pleasant. The bed and bedding were comfortable. The only detractor in the room was that the towels seemed old, thin, and worn. The hotel bar was friendly but the staff was more concerned with closing and leaving than with waiting on the customers. We arrived 10 minutes before closing (we were […] surprised the bar closed at 11??) and while we were accommodated, we watched while others arriving a minute or two later were sent away to another hotel. A silly loss of business. Had we known that we would be sitting there listening to the clanking of bottles as they were being put away and that we would be sitting amidst multiple staff members gathering and clearly waiting for us to leave so they could go home, we would have preferred to go next door as well. "Would Stay There Again and Again..."
Excellent location and the staff was wonderful. Had to move over to another area hotel for a conference later in the week and was sorely disappointed after having stayed here. The amenities were terrific as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location with annoying highlights"
The hotel was comfortable and pool was super comfortable and the locker room had a steam room and spa like feeling. A few things that annoyed me. So you have to pay for internet and there are 2 levels: regular and first class. Really? How much do they need to make from the internet service and why couldn't my phone send texts with pictures without paying […] their fee. It basically made my iphone super lame even though it worked great right outside the hotel. Then you have to put your key in a slot next to door to make the electricity work. Its nice to be environmental but it was really annoying when my kid took her card to leave and the rest of us were left in her wake with no electricity scrambling to find another card to stick in its slot. The service was great, the pool was awesome, the place was clean but I probably wouldn't stay again. Too may other sweet places to check out that won't make my phone freeze up just cuz I didn't want to pay the internet fee. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"We had a nice stay-cation in Seattle this was base"
We also stayed at a neighboring hotel earlier in the week and this was far superior. Really nice staff and the facility was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay"
Great location - walking distance to the monorail, shopping and restaurants, short taxy ride to the water-front. The hotel is very modern, we had very comfortable and clean room, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Also great gym, and awsome coffee-shop in am/bar in the evening.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel love it"
Love the hotel. I would recommend it everyone. Its in a good location. The service was awesome.Genuine Expedia guest review
Upon our arrival, Greg at the front desk asked us why we were staying. We told him it was our 10th anniversary. Later, when we came back to our room after an afternoon out on the town, there was a complimentary bottle of champagne and two glasses with a note saying, "Happy anniversary." Nice touch. The place was immaculate. The rooms were very comfortable […] and well designed. The workout facilities were top notch as was the pool area. You get what you pay for and we got what we paid for. The one warning is that it does cost $40-odd dollars per night to keep your car in the garage, which, when you consider the high expense of parking in Seattle, is actually not a bad deal. I'm just used to free parking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing Hotel that happens to be Green, too!"
My husband and I stayed here last week before going to a wedding on the Kitsap Peninsula. The room was more spacious than any downtown room we have had before, and the saltwater pool was quite therapeutic! I would stay here again in a heartbeat, for all of the above, plus the ideal location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Place to Stay!"
The hotel was very nice and location was good. Rooms were large and very clean. We walked to Pike's Place Market. The staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was overall a very good stay. This is the second time we stayed in this hotel. The only thing I didn't like is the fact that the bathrooms didn't have fans in them.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, but pricey, downtown hotel."
We spent 2 nights at the Olive on 8 after returning from a trip to Vancouver. The hotel is pretty, modern, and has nice facilities. On the other hand, the room carpet was rather dirty, and the hotel was pricey. They also charged for everything - $14/day for Wi-Fi, $5 for bottled water, $41/day to park a car, etc., etc. Staff was helpful, but there was […] a check-in snafu in getting our room (though it was resolved okay). "Location is key"
While the hotel site is away from the waterfront, it is only a few steps from Pacific Place and downtown shopping. We walked down to the waterfront from Pine Street....great city exercise!Genuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel, located within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. We stayed five night and either walked or used public transportation everywhere we went. You have to be willing to get a little wet if it rains but a light jacket is all you really need because it's not cold at all and if you walk briskly that will warm you right up. Most […] of the places we visited where within a miles walk. There were plenty of cabs for longer excursions and the link rail was within a few blocks (we used it to get to hotel from and to the airport). I was very happy with the fitness facility and the quality of our room. We did enjoy a good breakfast at the hotel restaurant but ate most of our meals elsewhere. "Nice hotel but nothing extraordinary"
Hotel was nice and close to many restaurants and shops. Walking distance to pikes market. Parking was very expensive a $41.00 per night. Rooms sounded a lot bigger than they actually were. Just a very ordinary size room. We have a big family so the room seemed small for us but maybe that's the norm for Seattle. Overall hotel was nice just not fanta […] stic. "To attend a Graduation ceremony."
Overall I was pleased with the stay at the hotel. The only gripe I had was they charged extra for internet. On the first morning the restaurant had a strong smell of bleach; probably left over from the clean-up crew from the previous night. All other aspects of the hotel met or exceeded my expectations.Genuine Expedia guest review
We spent our 19th wedding anniversary in Seattle. The Hyatt Olive 8 was perfect! Brittany greeted us on arrival and took extra efforts to make our stay romantic and memorable.Genuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I spent a couple of nights at the Hyatt at olive 8. The location is very convenient, the staff super-nice and the rooms very clean. We will definitely come back if ever in Seattle again.Genuine Expedia guest review
We arrived late and our room was still available. The staff was very nice. The restaurants were great in the hotel. It was within walking distance to Pike's Peak Market which was a plus also. Cleanliness of the room could not have been better. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay on our trip to Alaska.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel will be back"
It was a great hotel, the reviews are correct. Yes parking is expensive but it is a downtown city which I expected to pay more there was a less expensive place around the corner but we were in and out so much it was worth it. We will be back, everything was wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best in Seattle!!!!"
I will never stay ay any other hotel in Seattle ever again! I have never had better service at a hotel and Britany at the front desk is well worth the return visit. She had milk and fresh baked cookies to our room promptly at 8 pm for all of us! If I could have given a 10 on any of the above ratings I would have! LOVE...LOVE...LOVE this place!Genuine Expedia guest review
We absolutely loved this hotel! Great location in downtown, within walking distance to all shopping and great restaurants nearby! Staff was super friendly and helpful. You will feel like royalty staying here ! :)Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel in the middle of a beautiful city."
My gf and I stayed here for the two nights we were in Seattle and it was a very plesant stay. We chose to stay here because of the contemporary design of the hotel and also the location of the hotel. Both lived up to our expectations. And on top of that, the staff and service was superb. If there was a down-side, the standard king bed room we stayed […] in was a little on the small side and the view wasn't much to look at but other than that, everything was awesome. "Great Downtown Hotel"
The only problem was house keeping, bad staff with bad attitude, other than that I can resume the best hotel to stay in downtown seattle.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location, not very comfortable"
Great location...lots of Seattle attractions within walking distance. Mattress and pillows not very comfortable. Door key failed twice. Concierge service was not very responsive--didn't answer phone, and then brought the wrong items. Matt in the spa was extremely rude to us on our first day there....we were touring the pool and spa and wanted to schedule […] a massage. He was not very eager to help, and when we said we wanted a female masseuse he only told us he did not have one available at our appointment time. He did not tell us when a female would be available, so we were unable to get a massage after traveling from the East coast. The Urbane restaurant in the hotel serves good food, but service was very slow. We parked in the garage at the Grand Hyatt across the street which was $10/day cheaper. The staff seemed friendly but they were did not go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. If you are looking for comfort and luxury, I do not feel this is the place to stay. I chose this hotel because they do not allow pets, which is crucial for me because I have severe allergies. Also, the "spa" style shower had a half glass wall, so the shower area always felt cold. I felt there were not enough electrical outlets, and there were no trash cans near elevators. The $10/day internet fee was ridiculous. And the walls are very thin...we could hear the people in the next room--coughing, bathroom noises and getting a wakeup call at 5 am while we were trying to sleep. "Upscale & Quiet"
This is a beautiful property in great location. The amenities are wonderful and the bar / happy hour was a fantastic treat. Upscale and quiet, which I enjoy as a traveler with out children.Genuine Expedia guest review
We loved the Hyatt Olive 8 Hotel. It is located right in the middle of the city just about seven blocks straight up from Pikes Place Market. It is also just two blocks away from the Westgate Transit station which is where you get on the Link or bus which will take you all the way to the Airport or to the Stadiums and many other city stops. The Monorail […] that goes to the Space Needle is right next to this station also which was very convenient. We were in Seattle for three full days and did all of the touristy stuff and had a great time. We took a 3 hour "Seattle City Tour" which turned in to a 4 hour tour because of our Wonderful Tour Guide "David" who would not stop showing us everything in the city. The only thing that brings the city down a bit is the amount and presence of all of the homeless people. They do not bother you other than all of them have signs asking for money and are two or three deep on every corner and outside businesses. When we go back again in the future we would stay at this same hotel as it was very upscale in appearance, clean and very comfortable but we never felt out of place. Great Experiencenergye all the way around in Seattle. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice to come back to hotel to enjoy the spa...."
We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Hyatt Olive 8. Great location, just blocks from the convention center and 8 blocks from the Public Market. After sightseeing all day, it was nice to come back to the hotel's spa and indoor heated pool to relax. The staff were very helpful, the room was wonderful, the bathroom was gorgeous and I love that they use your […] key card to control the lights - when you leave the room and take your key card, the lights in the room turn off - very engery efficient. "great housekeeping, like the green aspect"
Great housekeeping, there for 8 days, asked housekeeping for extra coffee on first day, doubled coffee everyday. I iron every morning and also left a note asking for iron to be replaced (stuck to shirt) and new iron and ironing board to be left out everyday. Too lazy to want to pull it out every morning. Like the green aspect of the facility, just hung […] up my towel like home and reused for a couple days before replacing and who changes their sheets everyday when they're home? We had a great time.....until I came down with a stomach virus and was stuck in the hotel room for 2 of the 3 days we were there! And, to boot, Seattle was having stellar weather. We visited lobby bar for drinks--very nice, pricey. Had breakfast the day we were leaving in hotel lobby restaurant--great unique healthy choices--pricey again.
