This is a great little hotel with a lot of style, and the only (very slight) downside is its location. The lobby, restaurant and rooms have a very new, trendy feel. The check-in staff were excellent, willing to take time to go through a map of Athens, explain everything the city has to offer and suggest the best ways to fill our time. The room (including […] bathroom) was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - a few great Greek dishes to go along with the standard European continental breakfast fare. As far as the location goes - the hotel is three metro stops away (or about a 45 minute walk) from major attractions, so it isn't too far away but not as central as some travellers might like. The nearest metro station is Victoria on Line 1. Some reviews suggest the hotel is located in a dangerous neighbourhood but honestly we didn't notice any problems - no questionable people around outside even after dark etc. Overall this hotel is highly recommended - I would definitely consider this hotel for any future trips to Athens! The hotel itself was great; clean, modern, and fairly new. The inclusive breakfast was good. The downside is that it's a bit far from the train station and the sites. I did ask for a wake up call in the morning, as there were no clocks in the room, and never received one. Luckily for my iPhone, I did not miss my flight. The hotel is located outside the usual tourist area and although very close to the Archeological Museum it has a very genuine feeling of a real Athenian neighborhood. There are good restaurants located on nearby Alexandra avenue and the Victoria metro station is just 5 minutes away (although we later learned it is a dangerous station after dark). The […] Hotel rooms are nicely decorated (we got lucky with one on the terrace) but fridges are too small in the summer to be of any (practical) use. Staff is extremely helpful and courteous. This is a nice little hotel. The staff were great, the rooms were really nicely decorated, great colors, comfortable bed. if not a little small, but I didn't need tons of room. The breakfasts were a little skimpy, but not inedible. The only downside for me was the neighbourhood the hotel is in. We were there for 2 nights , before taking off to the Greek Islands. It's a good price and is everything we expected since we didn't plan to stay there very long. I travel all the time and even though I can't give a perfect 5 star rating because the neighborhood was a bit far from the sights I wanted to see, on every other count this was a fabulous hotel. Great room, very helpful staff, great breakfast, internet worked, lots of TV stations, even a bar downstairs for a nightcap. You can't go wrong with Areos.

The good: It is in very good condition, the room is new and the bathroom is big, and the staff is super helpful. The bad: When we arrive we realized the metro nearby was shut down for retrack (there is a bus however), the neighborhood isn't the best (although not as bad as Omonia), the elevator/lift is very small (can only fit 2 people and a suit […] case). I chose the Areos based on cost versus our official conference hotel around the corner. I'm so glad. The hotel itself is lovely: modern style, beautiful bathrooms, comfortable lobby, breakfast, and bar areas. The staff are superior. Every encounter was a conversation and a help. I picked Aeros from Expedia based on reviews and cost and was very happy on the quality of the hotel. The staff was extremely gracious, the free breakfast was wonderful, and the rooms were modern and clean. Here's the best part. We were leaving for the airport to head back to the US and the transit system decided to schedule a protest/strike/riot. […] Fearing that we'd never get to the airport, the front desk person ran outside and spend half an hour trying to double us up in one of the packed cabs. He succeeded and we made it to the airport with minutes to spare. The only slight problem with the hotel is that it's located in what some might call an unsavory (I say gentrified) area of Athens. Walk the wrong way and you might be in trouble. Also, the hotel is so new that most cab drivers had no idea where it was leading to some larger cab fees. Only two stops from Monestiraki station. Nice to be out of the tourist zone. Watch out for pick pockets!! Got mine knicked at the station as I was coming in (luckily not much in there). We stayed one night at the Areos Hotel. It is well located with the metro station next to it as well as a bus stop (one of these double-decker buses - cheesy but very convenient). You'll soon see the neighbourhoods in Athens are usually not very welcoming but the hotel is in a safe area and next to a park which is good if you want to go for a stroll. […] The room we had was amazing in terms of design, a great mix between old-fashioned and modern furniture. The bathroom was very big with a massive shower (Italian style) and overall, it was super clean. A bit disappointing for the balcony as it was next to the road and didn't have a great view but you are not in Athens (or any big city) for beautiful views! The staff was really helpful to guide us to a nice restaurant with Greek traditional food (amazing) and a bit of live music. Also, they always greet you with a big smile and speak very good English. The breakfast there was alright, not the best in the world but we came downstairs a bit late so I imagine it's our fault (it had eggs, ham, bread, jam, juice, coffee, tea, feta, olives... but it seemed like we missed out on omelett and bacon!). In other words, it is a great value for your money and if you like Boutique Hotels, this is where you need to go! Read more

Many apologies, but still a huge error. The room itself was fine. The bathroom suffered from a lack of a place to hang the shower attachment so to take a […] shower we had to kneel in the bath. The jets on the jacuzzi tub did not turn on but when the tub was filled, very dirty water issued from the jets. The hotel is about 4 blocks from the nearest subway station but there were some points where we felt a bit uncomfortable with closed stores, a lot of graffiti and some sketchy people (at least one drug addict). I stayed at Areos for four nights in early June. Check in was quick and the staff offered to help with any travel questions when I was ready. Which I did - they helped to book tours, provide transport advise and recommend areas to eat in. My room (single with double bed) was clean, comfortable and modern, a good size with enough storage and luggage […] stand, air con was great, the bed was comfortable with good pillows (I have a neck problem so that is important!). A small balcony also led to a city view. Breakfast was included in my rate and provided a good range of choices, the cafe/bar staff were also very helpful and friendly. Areos may not be as central as Acropolis hotels but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there as the staff were so accommodating and the clean, cool hotel/room was an absolute respite from the heat with all the mod cons I needed.
