Although the hotel location may not be working distance from Zion National Park South Entrance, you can take a shuttle bus. The bus stop is just a 2-3 mins (or less) working distance, and the bus takes you there in 10 mins. The room is small but clean. Good restaurant nearby. The parking lot is rather tight.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location in Springdale, close to the shuttle, has both a coffee shop and a restaurant, clean, nice views (although all of the rooms face the parking lot as opposed to the park).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Air conditioner was useless, but room was decent. Breakfast at their restaurant was very good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The cabins were a pleasant surprise. Pictures actually underserve the beauty of the place. Room was spacious, clean, quiet and had positive energy overall. The outside views of the cliffs are stunning, especially during sunset. Town is tiny, of course, with only one restaurant for miles, so manage your expectations. Overall, a great experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"First Time in Springdale"
The Pioneer Lodge was completely fine for a one-night, quick stay. It seemed pretty clean though it was a small room, meant probably for one rather than 2 queen beds. It was cozy with 3 of us in the room. Definitely an old-style motel--cute but not super "historic"-seeming. Bathroom is small, with the sink in the main part of the room; bed linens are […] older style. Staff was nice, coffee shop was cute/fine, restaurant was OK for lunch though the menu options were a little pricey. Pool area was nice but looked a little prettier in the on-line photo. The hotels in the area have a captive audience for people visiting Zion-- the room rate seemed pretty expensive for what you get, though I remember them all being more than you think they would be. Springdale itself is fun, very small, nice galleries, a great grocery store, and cute restaurants. We would probably check out the La Quinta next door next time, which has rooms with balconies that look out onto the mountains. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Get out of the heat vacation had to leave early"
it was a little trip to get out of the extreme at home. had to leave early due to health reasons. the Pioneer was ok. Their restaurant is not. the waiter for either overworked or absent minded. Food was not gret.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great view of southern Zion Canyon peaks!"
Clean and comfortable. Room furnishings are large primative wood decor making navigating small room a bit of a chore. Benches line balcony to rooms allowing opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the view. Parking lot is very tight with some slots requiring one to back all the way out of the lot into a busy street. We drove and arrived around 11 AM, 4 […] hours before check-in, but they let us park in the lot and catch the free town shuttle to the park entrance and we checked-in around 8 PM after a full day hiking. It's right downtown Springdale close to restaurants and shops. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel. Clean."
Clean and worth the price. Friendly staff. Centrally located right at the foot of Zion National Park. I'd go again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Value Friendly Staff"
The girls at the front desk were very helpful in getting the wifi going on my new tablet. They also recommended restaurants with gluten free options and easy but interesting trails to injoy at the park. The hotel appears to have been remodeled recently. The furnishing are very nice. The bathroom was fresh andattractive. The carpet still needs replaced. […] It was durty looking and torn near the bathroom door. Also the room was quiet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable motel 10 minutes from park."
Basic motel room that was clean and comfortable. Very sensitive to noise, but brought Dohm to drown out noise at night. Continental breakfast was free, but could easily do without it. Staff was friendly and helpful. 10 minute drive to Bryce canyon was simple. Bed was very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, comfy, reasonably priced"
Our room was clean and well maintained. I liked that the sink was in a separate room from the toilet and tub/shower. There was a refrigerator and microwave as well. It was very quiet at night - even though the place was 100% booked when we were there I never heard doors closing, people talking, cars starting etc. We had breakfast at the restaurant on […] two of the mornings we were there. The service was ok and the food was fine and reasonably priced. We spent most of our time hiking in Zion National Park, and the shuttle service that is provided to the entrance to the park was really convenient. The shuttle picked us up just down the street from the Pioneer Lodge and dropped us off just outside the park entrance. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a shuttle. The Pioneer Lodge is a nice place and if we ever go back to Zion we will most likely stay there. There are quite a few other hotels in Springdale, so if you are planning a trip there, do your homework so you get the best deal! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"At the Rocks"
Old, historic lodge had a log cabin type feel as I walked into my room. Had no problem getting onto the wifi initially, but then after 10pm I stopped getting a signal and I couldn't the t.v. to work. I went down to the front desk and rang the buzzer and a woman came out. I explained the problem and because she didn't understand much English, went back […] inside and a man came back out. He came up to my room within 15 minutes and fixed both problems. The Lodge is very close to the south entrance to Zion and restaurants are within walking distance, including a bus to take you into the Park. A bit pricey, but very close to the National Park so I guess the higher price was due to the location, not the quality of the place. I spent two days up there and glad I only booked a room here for one night. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, convenient location"
Overall it was a good hotel with a nice location within walking distance from a lot of great restaurants and gear shops. The room was clean and more modern then I expected. My husband and I stayed 2 nights. The first night was pretty miserable as the air conditioning wasn't working. The manager said all that was needed was to reset the circuit breaker...but […] at about 1am when the AC still wasn't working we decided to sleep with the door wide open just to get some air. It had hit 100 degrees that day and was pretty hot. The next day we were moved to a different room and that was fine. Just wish we could have been moved initially, we were roasting and after a long day of hot hiking, you really want a good night's sleep. Pillows were not comfortable, I'd suggest to bring your own. But overall, the hotel is clean and in a great location. I would stay again and recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We loved staying at Pioneer Lodge. Located right in the heart of Zion. Easy to catch shuttle to the park, or drive if you get up super early, or not on a busy weekend. Room was clean, with a homey feel, and organic shampoo and soap... Finally, somewhere that makes me feel as cozy and comfortable as home.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location near the park entrance & shops. We asked of a room with a view and got one. There are pricier & probably nicer accommodations in Springdale, but we enjoyed the rustic cabin decor (not your cookie cutter hotel room)! Would stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the carpets were dirty, air conditioner didn't work and couldn't get on Wifi easily. When I stepped on the carpet barefoot, I could feel sand underfoot.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel very close to the park entrance and right in the middle of the town. The view out our window was outstanding. My husband usually wakes up around 6:00 a.m., but to my surprise he slept all 3 days till 8:00, I couldn't believe it! The other hotels we stayed at he was back up at 6:00.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel near Zion National Park!"
Our stay at Pioneer Lodge was wonderful! The hotel staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The room had everything we needed to pack lunches, eat little meals, rest well and walk around town.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room 1.04 and 1.05"
Room 1.04 and 1.05 are located directly under the stairs, there is no chance of light. These rooms should be much cheaper than others haven a great view to the Zion national park mountainsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Zion without going broke."
Cute rustic decor; close to Zion. We selected this lodge because it had the best price point / ratings closes to the park. We were not disappoined. We did not eat at the lodge but the room was fine and very convenient to the rest of town and the park. Don't bother to pay the higher prices to stay elsewhere!Genuine Expedia guest review

"comfortable hotel- great location"
We enjoyed this hotel because it was right outside the entrance to Zion National Park. The hotel included a nice breakfast that we took advantage of each day. All the staff was very friendly. My husband & I liked Springdale because it had some nice places to eat. The view was beautiful.Genuine Expedia guest review
On line reviews had talked of bed bugs but room was clean, no sign of bed bugs and staff said they had recently been reviewed by exterminator and all rooms were without bugs. Springvale was a charming town with lot of good restaurants.-----PMHGenuine Expedia guest review
I've stayed in fancier places, but the Pioneer Lodge had everything we needed--even paper towels, which were handy when preparing lunch for hikes in Zion National Park. While that's a small thing, it is an example of how the owners anticipate and provide for the convenience and comfort of their guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay just outside the zion park"
Charming, rustic rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful room, the rustic look fits in with the surrounding area. Space well used. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and counter space were helpful for several days stay. Nice linen, fluffy towels and clean carpet. The lobby area was cozy for getting together with friends. Nice place to get coffee and baked goods or snacks. "Taking the money and running"
Check in was no problem and the desk was very helpful with places to eat and location of businesses we needed. When we got to the room, it was stuffy, and we tried to turn on the air conditioner but it wouldn't work. We talked to the office and they said it was a tripped circuit. We went to dinner and came back to no air conditioning. The office moved […] us to a different room. It had a big tube running out of the window and a stand up air conditioner It worked but, oh my, it was loud.. They need to put some updating into this place. We met some people on the trail who said they canceled their next night because of the same problem. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The adjacent restaurant was decent--especially for breakfast. We haven't been in National Parks vicinity previously'; nevertheless we thought this was overpriced for off-season, with few amenities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place near to Zion"
The location was very convenient, our room was very dark (under stairs). We had to wait for the check-in even the room was ready before 3:00 ! but we were allowed to park our car on their parking to take the shuttle to Zion NPGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel room was in need of some maintenance. The "gardeners" trimmed vines but did not clean up. The restaurant across the parking lot was awesome though little to choose from on menu.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Motel style with nice view"
The air conditioning of the neighbour was so noisy that we spend 2 nights with a big problem to sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were disturbed that the office was not open when we wanted to leave in the morning - about 7:30 AM. We wanted to divide the charges amongst us and were told the night before that we could do that at check-out but then the office was closed and the door was locked. This caused us some inconvenience as the charges went to the wrong credit card.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient, comfortable enough"
We stayed two nights at the Pioneer Lodge. The room was comfortable and clean, with a microwave and mini-refrigerator, although a bit cramped with the large wooden furniture. Our air-conditioning unit wasn't working, so the room was rather warm. The staff was able to advise us on getting just the fan to work, which helped (but AC would have been be […] tter!) "Not worth the great location"
After watching the video of the hotel on their website I thought this might be a nice little hotel close to Zion, I knew it was not some 4 star resort, but it was pretty disappointing. The staff was nice, but the rooms were dark and uncomfortable. There was also a strong musty smell the was trying to be covered up on cleaning products. I think the rooms […] just need to be renovated, our carpet was so old that you could see the wear marks from the vacuum cleaner running over it so many times. I don't think they aren't cleaning well, I just think stuff is so used and old that it is beyond cleaning. I don't know this for sure, but I think our room used to be a smoking room and was at some point transitioned into a non smoking room. Any hotel that tries to do this is just kidding themselves, unless you strip the walls down to the studs and put up new drywall, carpet pad, and carpet, you will never get that nastiness out. The Pioneer Lodge was located in a nice area, within walking distance to different restaurants. The room was quaint, but furnishings a little on the shabby side. Check in was easy and staff seemed nice. we did not go to the restaurant as the menu didn't look appealing to us. It was an ok stay for the money. Close to the park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Good! Right in town, close to restaurants, shops, and park access. Very clean. We were just there for one quick night. It was a little tight and I wouldn't have wanted to stay there for a week but perfect a stopover.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location to Zion National Park"
We had a suite with a jetted tub and a king size bed, microwave, refrigerator and sink but no stove. The counter area for preparing food was adequate with lots of cabinets. We used the tub and would suggest a non-stick adhesive or mat on the bottom as we were slipping and sliding in it, but it was wonderful to be able to soak after a long hike in Zion. "Nice place to stay when visiting Zion"
This place has a unique old west character. It is very close to the park. It is clean. People are very friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were o.k. with our stay at the Pioneer. The front-desk staff (two different young women) were not very chatty or friendly, considering it's a hotel close to a National Park -- where's the spirit and helpfulness and suggestions? Our rooms were very clean, although there was a kind of funky smell. It's supposed to be a smoke-free hotel, yet there were […] ashtrays (with butts in them) outside of every room. Not cool. The accompanying restaurant was NOT good at all, and we were quite disappointed. Expensive food and not very good quality. Would I stay here again -- maybe if not quite so pricey. The lodge was in a perfect location just ouside the gates of Zion National Park. Clean, cute, well decorated rooms. Awesome view. 50% off the food at the Pioneer Lodge Restaurant when you stay there and show the restaurant your room key card. The food was pretty good. I had the Utah Red Trout and my husband had the Country a Fried Steak. We walked around […] the cute quaint town through the shops. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. "Good location, friendly staff"
My wife and I visited Zion National Park for our first anniversary. We chose to stay at the Pioneer Lodge which is a decent hotel. What we loved about the room is the outdoorsy feel. All of the furniture was from wood and had an outdoor feel. The bed was comfortable and inviting. We had trouble getting the heater to work, but there was a space heater […] in the room that we ended up using. The staff was very friendly, too, and let us check-in an hour early! They also have a coffee shop in the lobby that was fairly inexpensive with very tasty drinks. I'd definitely stay there again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
